Will longbow be taking pictures again? If so let me know so I can pose for the camera!
 
The angle is good on that, but the front of the car is shadowed which doesn't show your color well.

Edit @ adeadsnipermatt: Not sure if he's taking pics or not. I've just been doing pictures on my own because I want to get these driver graphics done as soon as possible.
 
Top 5 from each division on the finale? Perfect. Now my chances of making it decreased :(. What time have you guys managed at Trial Mountain? Im in 1.33.3, but 32s are possible. Also, I have 305KM on my car and its at 212HP. Im missing an extra HP, maybe a few more KMs?

Funnily enough I had a little practice earlier with Longbow on Trial Mountain. During a few races, I did 2 (really) 1:31.992's, both with no draft. Still time to come off. Also, I always thought you need 300km on your car for full break-in. Maybe it's 200 miles in which case yeah you only need a few more KMs. :p

Am I missing instructions for driver pics in the thread? Are they in the OP?
 
No instructions really, just need a photo of your car taken at the same angle as the photos in the 2nd post of this thread. Either you can do it, or attend a practice race with someone that is willing to do it for you.
 
Anyone up for a little practice in the next 30 minutes? I'll be opening up a room anyway so I'll post room number.

Ran a 1:32.75 two days ago but I don't know if I had all the HP.

Pics can actually be done on A-Spec Free Run. Just pick a track and run through some right handers, exit and go to replay. It will allow you to take pics there. That's how I did mine.

As for angle, line up the side mirror so that it's blocking the rear wing end plate.

Just a heads up guys, I want to get all of these driver graphics finished by the end of the next weekend. 👍
 
I just realised I missed the race time poll. For what it's worth my preferred start time would be the 10PM EST time. (7PM PST on a Sunday would be absolutely perfect for me.)
 
I should be able to take a pic today/tonight sometime.

BTW I think I listed silver wheels, assuming silver stripes, I got white, so I'll have white wheels with my lime green color now :yuck: but it matches. :)
 
That's fine. Once your driver graphic is made, your colors are locked in unless there's a huge conflict with another driver. So make sure they are set before submitting your photo.
 
I am totally stoked for this series. I love, love, love, love, LOVE the fact that no tuning is allowed (save for the brake bias thing). Well done Jason.

On seperate note, are sport softs definitely going to be used, or is that still up for review? Personally, I think a lower grip tire (like sport hard) would be ideal for this tire considering it's low weight, short wheelbase and low power, and would make things that much more challenging. Heck, even comfort softs work great on the NA miata. Just a thought; the car is a ton of fun on sports soft - but I think it could be even more epic on the sports hards, by reducing the number of turns on course that you can "take flat out" :)

Judging by the understeer characteristics on high speed corners, and the fact that the rear kicks out under hard acceleration out of slow corners, yes definitely staying with sport soft.

I can take pictures if people want, they don't seem to need my assistance though. If you want me to, you have to ask me if I can/will be around whenever you want to, or set up something with me. People seem alright with doing it themselves though, and so am I. I look forward to taking pictures of the series itself. Or at least my own Division.

Understood though, like I said, I think the series is going to be a blast with the sport softs. One thing I noticed was how long it took the tires to come up to temperature at Laguna Seca, thought it was kind of funny. I wonder just how much tire wear is going to be a factor on the longer runs. Tire wear seemed to be pretty neutral for me. I wonder how pit stop strategy will impact the races considering that this car seems to be a little easier on tires.

Another question, are we allowed to be very liberal with "cutting" at Trial Mountain and other tracks where a signficant advantage gained be gained by putting 4 off of the rumble strips? I only ask this because we are running with penalties off and people are going to push the limits. I understand complete OLR rules, but is there anything that you want to add to that? Is everything open season? How will cutting on the final esses be handled? Just figured we should get a discussion going on this well in advance so that penalties can be handed out appropriately after the race, haha :)

Division 2 is already full. Division 3 is the only one with open spots at the moment.

4-off is never okay. Everyone that has been racing with us since the beginning knows this, but just so the new guys understand it will not be tolerated if done on purpose. All replays will be saved, and they will all be looked over for that kind of stuff. Usually someone else is going to be around, so if they see someone do something suspicious, then they should let me know. I will penalize accordingly.

Well if you can't make the race time why would you want to reserve a spot that someone else could use?

If you can't guarantee, I'd have to put you on a Div 3 reserve list then. You would have to let me know if you plan on showing before the race though so I can make sure there's a spot open. I don't want to reserve a guaranteed spot if you end up not making it.

i would like to atleast reserve a spot for division 2 i can be aviable but the time on d3 just seems to be a problem

Edit: 1 Spot open in Div 1 right now. 5 spots open in Div 3.

Edit 2: I just doubled the bonus points available for the World Championship race at Laguna Seca. :sly:
