This is one of those times where I am just sitting here thinking, why? What was the motivation between such breeding?

Not that I'm saying it's bad in anyway, I just always wonder why people do swaps like this. In this case it's the MX5 many of us associate with being small, light and often tuned for fantastic cornering, so what made whoever came up with the idea want to put a stonking great V8 in it? Just curious , nicely done regardless.

No change there. It's still small, light, and tuned for fantastic cornering. You're taking a cast iron 4-cylinder out and replacing it with a compact aluminum V8. The weight different between those two is pretty much nill. Most of the weight gain is in the transmission area which is in the center of the car. The weight balance is hardly effected at all. 👍

We don't have that info for an NA, although I will suggest it to them since we have a couple of them still roaming around the shop that have not gone home yet. Here's that info on our NB shop car. (2002)
