Yeah,to me Gt is far more than a game.If you play Gt since the ps1 generation,I think you may feel this too.
I think we can see forza's own thing in the coming forza 4.

I've been playing gt since the first one. Its a game. Just like forza.
Anyone mentioning 1 game having a soul or being real needs to put down the pipe.

Yes about the car inputs if you understand that any pad input is not a realistic movement vs turning a wheel/pressing a pedal but the car physics are also affected by that inputs and that translates into the game as a more or less real car behaviour. That is linked to a grade of difficult.

If some aspects of the driving are missing or assisted to favour a more simplistic handling is obvious that the game is going to be less realistic and more easy to predict/handle. That aspect works the same aside of using pad or wheel.

But who's to say what's realistic when it comes to a controller being used to control a vehicle. The only way you can tell what's "real" or not, "simplistic" or difficult is to actually drive a said vehicle in real life that was built with a stick. For all we know, and I'll pretty much guarantee, that if cars were being built with sticks as control methods the majority of them would handle similar to FM3. Like others have said, if you feel something's off, there's too much grip or whatever in FM3 then just tune it to where it's supposed to be in your mind and enjoy. Hell, even the custom online has the ability to change the amount of grip.

Anyone else glad they removed the lobster hands in the cockpit for forza. This is probably a good sign more has been changed since the e3 build.

Yes. I am glad they improved it.

I drive with lobster claws In real life......

There are things missing in FM3 physics that they are trying to address now in FM4, all that things are examples of what is not real enought in FM3 or toned down and work to make the handling simplier than it will be in FM4 new sim modes(hopefully) or GT5 right now.

I posted an example in the previous page regarding the snap oversteer in iRacing(present in GT games since GT4) and Benny44 posted another practical example:

"In forza on nurburgring, I've hit the grass almost going completely sideways at about 100mph and managed to come out of it. Again, with the assists off. I'm pretty sure I'm not near a good enough driver to do that. In GT5, there is no way I could have pulled that off."

I doubt that anyone can drive in real life an enzo without assists like that.

Even with assist on that pretty bad the car doesn't loose control after driving like that.

I dont care about lobster claws by the way if it looks better than FM3(and it does) i will be happy.:)

Agreed but your color saturation looks a bit off compared to wait I have seen.

Those lobster claws have over 500 different wheels to grab.

Think I can live with that. I'm more focused on the horizon TBH.

Speaking of crappy hand animations, why is it so hard for developers to give us the option to turn the wheel and hands off?

Would love to use cockpit view but the wheel and hands just ruin the whole experience for me.:yuck:

I just set the right values over. SO this is what it should look like.
If that's what it should look like, I'd need a new pair of eyes. That's over-saturated to hell and back again

Awyays, when I'm looking at some of the pictures on my TV screen instead of my laptop, they're looking quite a bit better, to me. Mostly because the colour settings and such are completely different on my TV screen (as I don't need to read stuff or use Excel on it). Hence, the picture of the Lambo zr1chris posted =

Found a pretty good GT5/Forza 4 comparison video, maybe it has been posted before.

I think this has been posted , don't know but I've seen it before but it's a good post regardless. The only difference I'm seeing between the cars is all the visually distracting mess thats going on in the front grill of the the GT5 cars (shadows).

FYI it's not the only game that behaves that way ;)

Great video evidence that you've provided us with there. I'd had otherwise assumed that this post was just another baseless accusation against the "other" game, spawned entirely out of bias and jealousy. 👍

Sorry to be so blunt, but I don't know how would behave an Enzo driven with an Xbox 360 controller, and I reckon you don't know either.

I'm sorry man I cannot understand your writing, but if your blaming that on a controller I still don't buy that.

I dont know either but I would imagine it would be even harder than driving it in real life which makes that video even better proof that something is a miss. Its obviously got allot to do with that hidden steering assist that you cant turn off.

Doesn't the behaviour depend heavily on the assists in use, though? I mean, turn on the Skid Recovery Force in GT5, and realisitc behaviour goes out of the window. I suspect FM3 does similar things with the right assists (keeping in mind that the steering assist appearently far more pronounced while playing with a pad than it would be while playing with a wheel, at least from what I've read. Never bothered to check for myself how intrusive it actually is).

Err, actually, the hands have about the exact same position than in Forza3. They're just wearing Alpine Star gloves this time around.

Edit : Some random pic for reference :

Sorry mate, I want this fixed as much as you do.

You don't know what lobster claws are do you? They fixed the way the guy held the steering wheel with the index and thumb. Now he grips the whole steering wheel and the turn animations are much better.

Key word you use Luminis is TURN ON In FM3 you can't turn is off because its on all the time. Im Praying this is not the case with FM4 please:nervous:..

It's already been confirmed you can turn everything off this time around 👍

I'd have to go look for the corresponding interview, though... Would've been in one of the earlier E³ videos, though.

Also, that's why I made the ninja edit to my previous post: From the bit of experience I have and from what I've read, the steering assists is far more noticible while playing with a pad compared to a wheel.

Luminis that's the best news i've heard all day with that turned off I bet we are going to experience some damn good physics. 👍

That's nice to hear :)

Switch off all the assists and engage Forza 4's all-new simulation handling mode and it's a strange and quite terrifying experience, a single lap of the fictional Alpine circuit seeing a Ferrari 599 spitting us into the scenery at every opportunity. The front engine, rear-wheel drive car lazily lunges into corners with heavy understeer before, just as it kisses the apex, snapping into aggressive oversteer that sends the rear flailing. After the relative stability of Forza 3's cars, it's a shock to find these cars so alive and so wild.

That's awesome however, I don't know if that include the the steering assist because In FM3 you can turn off all the assist, but they never had an option for the steering assist, it was just always on. Still good news going off the description though lets hope they have a steering assist option. 👍
