I feel the need to compare these two games. Before, I criticized FM3 because I was expecting a GT-like experience. Well, I got a deal on a 360 a short while ago and decided to put FM3 through its paces. To my surprise, I had fun. Now, I will admit that in the past I was bashing Forza without really having played it for any length of time. It reminds me of a really cool version of GT2 or 3. And that's not meant in a way to bash the game. It brought me back to my teens playing GT 1 and 2. I'm just having so much fun with it.
That being said, I don't believe that Forza's physics are anywhere near GT5. For GT5, I had the logitech wheel with a real car seat all welded together, so I got the full sim experience. With Forza, I was content with the controller because I find it to be a much easier game. A review I read by Car and Driver magazine said it best, I think: 'Forza 3 is a game, while GT5 is a simulator'. They are both tremendous accomplishments. If you want a game you can casually sit back and play, get Forza. If you want a more hardcore sim-type experience, get GT5. Personally, I feel GT5 is better. But whatever game you like, I think you can appreciate what makes the other one great.
