FM Vs GT - Discussion Thread (read the first post before you post)

Uhh thats forza buddy, arcade ran with 12 cars in a-spec and arcade, then in arcade it went up to 16 after patch 1.whatever... Thats one of the main reasons why kaz has not implemented a customization system into the gt series, he actually races cars professionally and respects them enough to keep their natural "true beauty". He despises the fact of adding damage to a 458 italia let alone adding "stickers" to it, but he has had that mindset since gt2, and that was in what 98? And the only cars that look the same are when you are doing the license tests when all the cars are painted grey/black/white or whatever, or in an online lobby with doubled up super gt/dtm cars... And re-read my message, i never said gt5 ai was anything special... Quote on quote !

And please tell me where i was "acting" like true beauty is the ultimate version of driving a car?

And yet damage was finally implemented & a slideshow presentation showing Kaz's desire to add in a livery editor was revealed.

This "natural beauty" thing is humorous. I can respect the fact that some people want to race single color cars, but don't act as if liveries in the game are suddenly going to be bad.

Learn to quote yourself, first off. I just asked you to show me an instance where the ai isnt "terrible", because I disagree with you. And really why are you calling me a fanboy? Personaly attack on me? For what?

I apologize if i gave the image of giving liveries a bad name... Pretty much the single lone thing that differentiate's from who's who. I wasnt supporting if natural beauty was better or worse, i was just implying that if you want a game thats going to deliver an experience without all that then gt is for you. I was only trying to support kaz's idea of what he likes, not what was "right or wrong"
I was only bringing it as far as it was brought when you exclaimed the false statement of gt having 8 cars on track... Yes i did forget that if you do the one-make race then yes the cars look the same with 8 cars on track only because its a ONE-MAKE, yes you get the doubled car here and there in gt but there's no denying that forza has not ran into that problem before? For now i apologise for the grievances i caused and lets tone it back to a level we all can agree on... Agree'd?

Well not to brag but I have 2PS3 2Xbox (one old one new with the knect) a Samsung 52 inch 240hz G25 Fanatec DFGT custom cockpit 6 DS3 Samsung 7.1 surround run with 4 monster HDMI GT5P GT5 and FM3 waiting for 4. And I pay my own mortgage.

Bravo we're 18... Hahah nice paying job though i'll admit, or you just know how to save and what fun to spend your money on... Or maybe a little bit of both... Hahahah

Who said that PD's livery editor was gonna be the same as T10's livery editor. Kaz has only expressed interest to include one. Who knows what it'll be like. Hell, for all I know, PD's livery editor will suck.


And just to be clear: I have noted that all the crap I've gotten is because I said something bad about Forza and T10. I keep forgetting NOT to do that because, around the GTPlanet site, Forza and T10 are gods who can't screw anything up. And saying something bad about them is sacrilege. So...I'm sorry. T10 is awesome, Forza is perfect, GT5 sucks donkey balls and Kaz and PD can bite me.

Sony is not always so bright with their decisions. Like how they failed to implement cross game chat.

On the other hand there is not much more that they could show, i mean just look at their line-up for gamescom.

Seeing this is more a want than a need, but what console isnt a want though right? I just dont care becasue i've never used it/needed it, how convient it can be is beyond me but im perfectly fine without it, thats my problem...

I never said liveries were a bad thing in a game, i was merely stating a quote kazunori said himself, he doesn't like damge and he doesn't like stickers, and never did i say natural beauty is superior...

All I said was "I wouldn't be surprised if GT6 has a livery editor in it." That's what the discussion was about. I gave my opinion on the subject. But, it seems even an innocent comment like that is enough to piss off the Forza gods, so I'm sorry.

OK I am creating this in the hope that by providing an area for discussion of the merits of both series it will help stop these discussion occurring in other threads and dragging them off-topic.

However some clear ground rule will be put in place.

The first and most obvious regards the AUP. Every single post will be expected to follow the AUP, any AUP violations will result in action being taken by the staff.

However I want to clarify a few points in this regard:

• Opinion is not fact - don't present it as such
• Argue the point don't attack the person making it
• The term 'fanboy' (including any and all derivations) is banned
• Accusations of 'Troll' simply because you don't like what someone says are also out
• If you make a claim back it up with sources - fail to do so and you will be asked to provide them

The staff reserve the right to amend and adjust the above as often and in any way we see fit.

Im not a Forza fanboy because (unfortunatly) I was always a GT fan (being 38 years old there was no Forza available when I started gaming) but it is more than obvious that its time for me to move on to Microsoft... and youre right you shouldnt be posting here if you got nothing interesting to say or if you arent the least interested in what Forza as to offer.

...and that wouldnt be a bad deal... a console and a game for the price of a console if you get my drift...

Well, I feel like that point goes to FM4 now. For a mroe detailed information, see the "General Discussion" thread. Now, I don't feel like GT5 has much left to impress me with...

Personal experience and opinion, of course. I basically just wanted to point out that FM4 felt a-m-a-z-i-n-g, and I can't help but think that it now has a leg up on GT5...

It could just be the steering wheel. When ISR tried the T500RS, they said they could appreciate how great the physics were in GT5. Something along them lines anyway. I will try out the demo before buying this time, don't want to be dissapointed in the driving physics like in FM3.

I actually got quite dizzy from it
It surely positively influenced my perceiption of the CSR's Force feedback, but I think it didn't do much in regard to the actual physics. Most of what I perceived there seemed to hold true when playing with the controller on those crappy small screens without sound or anything
