Besides a couple gameplay videos, I don't see how anyone can compare the AutoVista cars & their in-game models just yet until they see for themselves.

All I've seen is that there are more apparent details in AutoVista, but nothing drastic like GT fans seem to believe.

I don't know how drastic it is but there is an obvious difference between those Autovista cars and other cars. Autovista is Forza's response to GT5's Photo Travel so we will wait and see how the whole thing works out.

I'm also a Forza fan have 1,2,3 👍 From what I have seen those Autovista models are the real business. I give alot of props for T10 even if its only 25 of them. I also will only mess with it fo r a week, then it's back to racing.

Edit @ Slip my bad. 👍

If that's all you can do to them then that's not every car is easily customized, is it? You can't customize 800 of the cars the way you want to. For the most part I don't like those big wings on street cars so whats left after that? Nothing but changing the color.

To be fair, even though all the cars in Forza3 can get a spoiler, a good portion of them can only get one large adjustable spoiler versus a choice of 3 or so in GT5. Of course, Forza does have the visible adjustable front spoiler for every car along with actual body kits, hoods, and other spoilers/wings so they are still ahead of GT5 in the customization aspect.

I wish more people kept it real like this. Again FM is the best when it comes to customization, Im glad PD put some body upgrade for us, but we need more :dopey: One thing that GT5 has over FM is the adjustable down force you can do on stock cars such as the GT-R 34. I have read you cannot adjust the down force again in FM4. :indiff: I think it's cool I can lightly tune a GT-R and when the back gets a little loose I can add some down force in the rear. Having the adjustable down force option available with stock cars really brings out the great qualities within that car.

I'm sort of a neutral party in this "debate". I originally started on GT3 when my brother got it for PS2 (I was more into the arcadey racing games before that), got GT4 when it first came out, and got GT5 maybe a few weeks after it was released. I never really got into xbox until this past summer when I saw what all was included in FM3, so I got a used 20gig. I've pre-ordered FM4 LCE, so I'll get that when it's released.

Anywho with that out of the way, and after playing both series, I like to think I have a fair opinion of the two. On the one hand, I love the realism that GT is striving for with the accurate tracks and great Premium models, and I liked how the licenses would unlock what races you could do (rather than the points system in GT5.) They have/had so many cars to choose from which I thought was cool compared to other games which maybe had 200 at most (like GT3, though the graphics made up for that). However I became disappointed in how GT5 turned out in several aspects, and made it to maybe 23 in A-spec and...dunno in B-spec, and just grew bored. I think it was because it felt like I was progressing too slow compared to previous games, and it felt stretched. (I also got Fallout 3 which held my interest for a long while)

When I first played Forza 3, I was surprised at the better (IMO, I'm more into American cars) selection of vehicles compared to GT5, as well as the visual customization aspects and paint shop. I also like how they set up the events, and I guess I like the physics a little better (not saying they are better of course, that I don't know about) since it sort of "feels" like the cars have more mass. Oh yeah, the sounds are amazing, especially the Grand Cherokee SRT8 (that thing is a Jeep? )!

This is a bit long, I know haha. But in any case I think they both have their pros and cons, but GT5 just feels half-baked to be for many of the features whereas Forza feels how a racing game should be set up. One day I may pick up GT5 again just to race, and I guess I'll see what the deal is with GT6 before I buy. And that's my two cents!

Many people here share the same exp.

You missed his point, zr1 was accusing PD of holding back content but he overlooked the balant "holding back of content" that turn 10 was scheming. Every content we have recieved for GT5 were FREE and the reason we will pay double for any new DLC is because they actually worked hard on it AFTER the game released. Unlike the Majority of developers PD still have some sanity in them and i wholeheartedly applaud them.

My point exactly, Release day DLC isnt DLC, its content thats been removed from the final game to make a few more bucks!

And you know for a matter of fact without a doubt, that this content, was programed into FM4 and then "removed" and put as DLC. Please tell me how you know for a fact this conetent was removed.

That's the BMW M3 E92, the ingame/replay/photomode LOD... When using the interior view the game changes to the "phototravel" interior since it doesn't have to show the outside of the car, but from the external cameras, that's how the interior of the cars looks like. Of course it does the trick when seen from a distance, but not when you get close...
My point is that JDMKING13 said that there was a bigger gap between photomode and ingame models in FM4 than between phototravel and ingame models on GT5, and I don't agree, using those pics as proof.
How on earth a black interior with no detailing is a lesser gap than a lighted mid/high quality interior?

That external interior view in GT5 does not need more detail than it has, in fact it's very detailed for that view. I would love to see a similar external view photos from FM4.

Instead of holding content back as DLC for a few more bucks, all video games should retail at a higher price tag so that developers get more bucks from the shelf instead. After all, it costs tens of millions of dollars developing even just an average, typical video game, and most video games fail to earn what went into developing them. Charging $65 or $70 for a new release rather than $60 but doing away with the day-one DLC would be better because it means the developers get those extra bucks from all buyers rather than just from some of them.

I really don't see the difference other than it being more convenient.:odd:

...do show FM4 has gone a long way to catching up. I reckon by the time the best photographers in the FM world get their hands on FM4 the comparison pics are going to be very comparable. I still think GT5 will have the edge but only just.

Which is exactly what I have been trying to say and FM4 has these graphics on EVERY car.

It's not Autovista cars vs other cars that is the difference. It's just when the cars are in Autovista mode. All of the cars are created equally for in game play. This has been stated by Dan many times.

They are not holding back content. It is there for who wants it. If they tried to charge $70 for the standard game then there would be an uproar about that instead. The reason for the LCE is to make the consumer feel like they are getting something special when they buy that vs the standard game.

Unless said content wasn't actually finished before the game went gold.

I saw this photo, which shows the Forza 4 muscle car pack... a car pack before the game is released, Why put these in a car pack when theyre obviously ready now?

all i can say is thank goodness PD are not filthy money grubbing devs.

👍 Exactly, my point was PD didnt hold back things they could include on release, unlike other game devs who take people for mugs... oh well a fool and their money are easily parted!

They are, if they weren't they would have given away GT5 for free.

Every company that is for profit is indeed filthy and money grubbing no matter how good of a PR dept. they have.

That cost $40.

They were for the LCE at first, than they decided to include it with the season pass. I'm not for day 1 DLC, but there is an obvious difference with the muscle car pack.

Have I missed something?

Doesn't the FM4 LCE come with all the known car packs etc? Isn't that why we pay extra to get 'everything' day 1???

Not being funny, but I thought the only day 1 DLC was effectively allowing standard version owners to have some of the fruits of the LCE???

The next DLC will be 1 month later and with cars never announced before?

I am confused.. someone give me the full lowdown..
