Well that's what happens when every car is shaped like a wedge with a cabin nowadays. :p
Good point. Who the hell started this trend anyway. It's like the next step is simply not having a rear window.

Oh wait, they already got rid of it...

I think it would've been fresh-ass if they dropped the rear glass all the way back and chopped it off kammback style.

First thought: Helloooo Hyundai! Well, the current, better-looking Hyundai at least.

It's not bad, but it's too chunky. Again. Inevitable, I suppose, when you are trying to mimic old designs while keeping to modern safety standards and doing all that on a shoestring budget. This is, after all, the economical muscle car...er, pony car.

An additional 15HP -- a minimal gain -- is a good thing these days. The more important and more relevant question: What's the fuel consumption? Did it at least go up?

The super packs that they were talking about at the live showing seems interesting.

The front looks good but something with the rear seems akward. Like its way too tall but it does look better for sure. I also like the design change with the side curved body lines.

Since this car has a solid axel in the back, I really hope some kind of SVT mustang comes out with independent suspension.

2010 and still SOLID axles in the back.. wow.. the future..

4.6 that only has 315 HP.. Com'n it's a sports car. 4.6 should at least have 400!!! HP!!!!!!!

It dosnt do anything for me at all, more underpowered, overpriced, run of the mill mass overproduced plastic CRAP from FORD ,:dunce:WHOOOPIE.

I'm not a fan of the 4.6L, never really have been. There is supposed to be a 400-ish BHP 5.0L somewhere on the horizon, but I have no idea when its coming down the pipe. The big question is how Ford will apply their EcoBoost program on the car. Rumors say that it'll get a 2.4L 300 BHP Turbocharged I4, possibly a Turbocharged 3.5L V6 good for nearly 400 BHP... But where the V8 fits in, that is still undecided. Especially if they're even going to apply the Hurricanne V8 or not, which last I heard, was a "no."

I think they're just giving us the Ford Racing tuned version that they've been shoving in the Shelby GT, Bullitt, etc for the past few years. Not much of a big deal, more power is more power, but it needs at least an extra 50 BHP to seem relevant against the SS and SRT-8 competition.

While I'm thinking of it, Highland Green (or something similar) better be a paint option this time. No more "mint" green. I will not have it!
You're exactly correct. Ford loved the Bullitt so much that it used those engine/drivetrain parts for the new base V8. And if you recall, the Bullitt is faster than the R/T, which is what these Mustangs should be fighting against. It's just a hair slower than an SRT-8

There will be no Hurricane V8 in the picture unless Ford changes their minds. So far it's looking like a 5.0 will be an *option* on GT's.

Is the new V6 from the edge or mazda 6 available for 2009?

In MY2011 or so, there is a *chance* they will toss in the ~260hp 3.5L V6, but until at least then, we're stuck with the same 210hp 4.0L.

That may depend on what they do with the EcoBoost setups. Ford's origional plan was to replace all of the NA V6s with that Turbocharged I4, which sounds like a brilliant idea.

I like everything but the rear. I'm disappointed, I was expecting more power. I do like the front revision and that light blue is brilliant.

all that time to work on a 4.6L and they give us 15 extra horsepower.

Give me a spanner and $250 and I'll have double that power. Ford = EPIC FAIL

I'd vote "very, very, very good-looking" on this update. I definitely agree with Keef on this, they've done a better job of capturing the feeling of some of the vintage Mustangs with it.

Thought: I love this color blue!

So it only picks up 15 BHP and 25 lb-ft, but thats enough to keep things interesting with a 400+ lb advantage to the Camaro. I do hope they bring out an EcoBoost I4 option, because IMO, that'd be the way to go.
I completely missed the debut. :ouch: I like the blue, too. It is beautiful. Like Omnis, I wasn't a huge fan of the rear/taillights, but the car does look much better overall. The original interior I thought was really attractive, but the new one looks even better! On the minimum performance gain, maybe they are trying to make few dollars off the Ford Racing parts. :D

Perhaps it's already been said, but do we expect ford to still be around in 2010 to sell the 2010 Mustang?

Im sure Ford Europe will still be around, maybe they can sell it over here! :) They have done very well to make it look even more musclecar-ish and even more concept car looking, like the Dodge Challenger.

Actually slightly off topic but what happens to something like Vauxhall if GM goes under. Surely it for the most part operates independantly so would not fold just like that right?

Sure, but perhaps not with the current ownership.

I'll still like a Camaro even if it's a Dongfeng Chevy.

I mention it because I'm trying to decide whether or not I need to be prepared to buy a C6 before GM goes under. If this is my last chance to get a new 'vette, I might have to move heaven and earth to make it happen.

I'm not sure when that Mustang will hit the streets (this summer I assume?), but out of the three of them, Ford stands a much better chance of being around by then.

You mention the Corvette, and with GM, it more or less depends. I think they're going to make it to the spring without too many problems, but it seems somewhat questionable to some extent if it would be the same GM. It seems a bit strange that the Camaro will be showing up right around the same time that GM says they could be out of cash, but I guess I'm not too worried.

Assuming they get their stuff together and make a solid case to Washington a week from tomorrow, it seems likely they'll get some money, and be around for a while.

Won't the C6 be cheaper after Chapter 11? The dealership structure won't fold completely overnight... or it shouldn't.

But then again, there might be a lot of bargain hunters with the same mindset about the C6... which would add to the markups already in place...
