Actually, there is a V8 powered Ford Focus concept car called the "RS8". It was basically a Focus RS equipped with a 5.0L Cammer V8.

EDIT: Honestly though, I always thought putting an engine bigger than a 4 cylinder in a small hatchback was a silly idea. For smaller cars, an engine that big is not necessary. An inline-4 with Turbochargers is usually enough to get the job done well.

Yes they did, it was called R32 in gens IV and V. After that they switched to mere R and replaced the V6 with high boost 2.0 turbo.

I knew about the R32s, I was thinking about a less sporty 3.2 Golf, but apparently such a version of the Golf was never made.

They did offer the GTI and the GLI in the States with a 2.7L VR6 up until 2004, and I believe you could get that engine with the 4MOTION system in Europe as well.

I think it was 2.8l, 2.7l was Audi version. Also, Corrado did get more powerful 2.9l if memory serves.

And the first production color has been shown:

Kind of find it annoying that such a nice shade of blue isn't allowed for the public, I mean it not only complimented Ford Colors but it worked so well with various models which is quite nice.

I have to agree, it's not only annoying, but it makes painting the Focus RS that color for that motor show kinda redundant. I mean, what's the point of showing a car in that color if you're not going to allow the public to have the car in that color anyway?
