:grumpy: That stinks! :grumpy: They were probably too busy getting all of there Japaneese cars created and threw the Lightning in there at the last minute. I'd rather they not even put it in the game if they cant do it right. And if it cant burn up the tires in the game like some of you are saying, that is disapointing. 👎 Ive seen a lightning burn up the tires with ease, I know, a guy on my street drives one!

That shows the incredible comitment PD has for cars that are not Japanese. And they are renowned for their incredible accuracy and perfectionism LOL!!!!

You'd never see a mistake like that on a Japanese car for sure. And to all those trying to excuse it, stop lickin' PD's boots for christ's sake.

See ya :sly:

in Supercars.net, it says that the 2000 Lightning was 4WD, but i just got my GT4 in the mail, and reading the reference giude, it says that the Lightning is a 2003 model, but with 2000 model rims......and in 2003, the Lightning was definately RWD...you can look at it one of two ways: you can say it's a typo and PD should have said it was a 2000 Ford Lightning, or you can say they royally ****ed up and say they should have made it RWD

I remember being mad in gt3 that the audi TT was only front wheel drive, even though it had quattro in its name. Anyone else remember that?

i remember that ****, i was going to launch the **** out of it, then when i dropped the "clutch" the front wheels started spinning like crazy, i was like wtF?

The 4wd instead of 2wd Lightning error is the reason the game isnt coming to America for a long time. J/k dont spread this around its a joke.

If they cant get it to spin on the road then pull off into the dirt and spin the tires or go into the snow.

DRIFT GOD
what i want to know is why did they put a 4WD HEMI RAM in instead of the VIPER powered RAM SRT-10 ???

I was wonder the same thing??? Here you have the fastest production truck in the world (Dodge Ram SRT-10), but instead of puting it in the game, you put the Laramie Hemi Ram, while not all that bad, it doesnt compare to the SRT-10. It doesnt make sense! And its the cheapest Laramie they make! It looks like a regular 2500 Ram. They could have at least put the Laramie with the painted grill, the side skirts/ground fx, and front valance on there!

Amen Lambo...

Yeah, this is a rather large mistake. Do the math with me everybody, 3 trucks (2 American, 1 Japanese), they got 1 American truck wrong, that's 33.333333333% of the trucks in the game that aren't even accurate !

Hehe, I love twisting statistics around. But, that is a major screw up, :indiff: not suprising to me at all that it happened to be an American made car either...

... oh yeah, and if you want to prove to Ferrari and Porsche that their cars will be accurately represented in your game, you need to not release games with these kinds of mistakes ...

But, that is a major screw up,...

Since everyone seems to be ignoring me thus far in this thread, I'll say it yet again.. no one has yet been able to prove that the truck, in the game, WHEN DRIVING, is actually four-wheel-drive. And if it's not, then it's not really a "major" screw up, is it? It's just a typo.

While we're on the subject, could anyone explain how the "front-wheel-drive" Quattro I just tested in GT3 was magically able to spin all four wheels? Hmmmm.

PD clearly thought...........TRUCK! and then thought 4 WHEEL DRIVE!.........these are ment to be car enthusiasts, they clearly didnt know anything about the lightning...........they really have to fix this! :grumpy:

Jedi2016, although this doesnt answer the 4wd question, S4A did say this:

"Ram: bogs down pretty bad; takes a couple seconds to get moving
Lightning: drops immediately to 1000 RPM and takes off with no wheelspin
Tacoma: smoky burnout"

That is what disapoints me. If you floor it in a Lightning, you are gonna smoke the tires all the way to wherever your goin! It isnt gonna bog down to a slow takeoff! Now whether or not S4A had the TCS and ASM setup properly (which, both would be turned off), I dont know.

Now with the Rams, I think from factory Dodge puts a drive-by-wire system on the Hemis that doesnt allow wheel spin. It puts out power until the wheels spin and flatlines, or something like that. Its pretty much like TCS I belive. Dont know all the ins and outs on it, so maybe ill do some research. Whether or not GT4 put this in, I dont know, but that could be a reason the Ram bogs down.

And of course, the Toyota Tacoma's physics are probably spot on, since it's a Japanese!

In order to see if it's AWD or a typo, couldn't you see some of the parts you can use on it? Something like the limited slip differential, which you can't install on AWD? I dunno.

It might be easier if someone would just do a burnout in the game and see if that proves anything.

If the drive-by-wire nanny feature is on the Ram then it should be on the Mustang as well. This is a pretty big mistake for any car and it makes me wonder if the other trucks are like this. Someone should find out if the SSR and the Silverado concept have the same kind of mistakes.

True. It seems quite shocking they could make a fairly simple mistake like this. You'd think someone would've noticed

Hopefully hybriding in GT4 is as simple as GT3, and we can change the drive configuration to RWD.

And I'll say it... yet again.... prove to me that the drivetrain isn't already RWD. It doesn't take a lot to spin the tires.. I can do a burnout in a Mini, for cryin' out loud. Not much of one, but they do spin.

Well, i know the SS Silverado in full trim is 4WD. The SSR should be RWD.

Aside from the Lightning screw-up, can anyone tell me if the Lightning in the game has the same nasty blower wine the real ones have? Im very curious.
James-

with that many cars, its bound to have error.

the Mini Cooper S only have 5 gear instead of 6.
and all the benz lost the unqiue "automatic" gearbox as simulated in GT Concept and Prologue

I would guess that the SVT Lightning sounds like the Ford GT and the SVT Mustang Cobra. I saw some videos on IGN of the Ford GT and it was the identical sound of the SVT Mustang Cobra from GT3 (which doesnt sound too shaby, and has plenty of wind from the blower you can hear!). But if they have completely redone the audio for each individual car like they say they have, than it should sound different, but I'm not getting my hopes to high. I just hope they get a nice roaring tone for the 70' Charger 440 and the 71' Charger Super Bee 426 Hemi, and all of the other muscle cars!

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE SOME VIDEOS AND SCREENSHOTS OF THE 70' AND 71' CHARGERS!!!!!!!

Japanese dont give a **** about american cars, so this doesn't surprise me in the least, gt4 is soo bias, one of the things i dont like about the game, 50 mllion japanese cars and 5 american

Is that why Kaz ordered a Ford GT?

Jedi: If it was 2wd, it should have had wheelspin from a standstill. Not looking good.

As for hybriding, I plan on converting the Hemi to SRT-10 spec. :)

maybe because big heavy cars don't race that well?

Since when was a Corvette, Escort, Cavalier, Fiero, ZX2, Sunfire, or Cobalt big and heavy? A new Mustang isn't really THAT big for the layout, just in need of some wider wheels (which you can't do on the '05 Mustang. The wheels you get are the widest you can have).

I'm curious about the Lighting's supercharger whine, also. Is it correct atleast?

Rumors around the SVT Camps is that the new Lighting (based on the '05 F-150, if it comes out) will not only come with a six speed manual, but also be a real two-door pickup (with a slight extension so it continues the F-150 base look) and have IRS (Independent Rear Suspension) from the Expedition, just revamped for the possible abuse, of course. It's also said to have very good performance numbers, and not just in a straight line, either.

Yeah, same here. AWD for me on both a tuned TT and a stock TT

Okay, at least I'm not losing my mind on that one.. I read the comment here, went downstairs and sure enough.. AWD. Don't know where the FF comment came from.

It just makes me think they really didn't test every vehicle if they made the Lightning 4wd. How could you take that truck on a track, feel the way it steers and everything else and still think its a 4wd truck? You know they had to of mashed the gas pedal if they really did test this thing, and that would of been a clear indication its rwd. It's not hard to get a powerful pickup truck to light the tires up with rwd.

As for the Ram, I like having the Hemi Ram in the game. It would of been nice to have the Viper powered truck, but thats not such a big deal once we are able to hybrid vehicles. And now I can race my friends and them say "hey, does that thing got a hemi?" "your about to find out".

What I'm really disappointed in, is no 03/04 Cobra but yet they have the '05 Mustang GT. That sucks, the 03 Cobra is supposed to be better all around then the Cobra R and its not even included. It looks so badass too, I hate the way the Cobra R looks.
