The comparison in this thread is stupid. Different trucks for different purposes. Obviously a Land Rover isn't built to tow around the kind of weight Dodge, Chevrolet, & Ford advertise just as the Big 3 don't advertise their heavy duty trucks as being capable of the off-road challenges that Land Rover advertise with their vehicles.

And who gives a crap if people don't use them to do it? Like whining about supercars which get bought & scrutinized with the same stereotypes.

How many Land Rovers have almost 500 horsepower 900lb-ft of torque stock? Not many....

Trying to suggest any of the big three's work trucks have "almost 500 horsepower" is akin to suggesting your top speed run of 140mph is "almost 200mph". And while there's no Landies with nearly the torque rating, they do comfortably crest the 500bhp mark these days.

Not that it really matters; comparing the two is beyond silly, as they're completely different vehicles designed for completely different things. You're doing exactly what you're complaining @SniperRed3 is doing - and yes, before it's mentioned, I do think his "argument", if one could call it that, is baseless.

The F-Series goes up to F-1000+ but at that point you're getting into serious stuff like Semi's and tow trucks and dump trucks, most of which were dropped in the '90s.

Dodge and Chevy have thier own variations of tis, known as 1500,2500, 3500 and so one.

So once you get out of the 450 stage you'll be using it purely for commercial use. I prefer the 90s trucks they look alot more purpose built.

Anyway, Ford has no case against Ram Dodge. There's no way to accurately determine the class of either truck. If I were Ford, I would just make the same claim about the F-450.

Because that's the rating for Light Duty trucks as well as Medium and Heavy Duty and their Gross weight classification to be rated as Light, Medium or Heavy. A Silverado HD isn't really "heavy duty" like say a 7500 series. Why Ford does one less zero I have no idea at all, just thought it was the way they wanted to do things.

It's different stages of truck. For example an F-650 is bigger than a F-450 and a dodge ram 1500. It goes to class eight, It's determined by gross vehicle weight rating.

The f-650 weights 30,000 lbs. Stage 6 includes vehicles with a GVWR of 19,501–26,000 lbs. However, Ford F-650 is technically a stage 7 and it's really confusing.
