Formual GT World Championship Seasonal

One thing I notice is that the races on custom tracks are the easiest. The driving line and brake points that the AI follow is too conservative in spots. Also, the FGT when tuned is far superior to the settings as purchased (which the AI must be using).

P.S. I can't imagine I will be golding the Ring in this twitchy car.

They are pretty easy ... not sure if it's the new physics or just that they are easier. AI still brake way too soon for corners.

I thought this too, then I read the race info properly, the AI is on RH and I automatically put RS on my FGT's so this may explain the cornering difference.

so true, luckily I maneged somehow to gold it, but I can't say that was easy
 
Can anyone point to a good setup? My setup I used for the A-Spec Championship is crap now with Spec 2.
 
HSR is easy but I simply finished last on Tokyo reverse on my first try, so not easy for everyone; the AI is bad on slow corners but good on quick consecutive corners on that track; I need some training on that track, as I did for the ring for the world circuit seasonal

The cockpit view is indeed great on that car, it really gives it a second life for me
 
Have you guys adjusted AI strength in the options menu?

by options menu, I mean where you can chage steering button assignments, HUD detail, sound options, network utilities, etc etc.

There is a new Tyre indicator mode (need to turn on!) and AI strength levels.

Strange, I golded High Speed Ring and Grand Valley on first try even with mistakes but lost 1sec / lap at Tokyo. Still 12th after 3 laps, so I quit. Now I'm afraid of the Ring and Eifel. :)
 
I find it challenging to race with a stock F GT on racing hard tires. I've gotten gold on the HSR, R245 and Grand Valley, I haven't tried Effiel yet and am saving the ring till last since I know making two quality laps at the speed require will demand familiarity with the car. I don't typically drive the non real cars unless demanded.

These races aren't really about beating the AI but rather putting together fast enough laps to reach the lead cars total time. It's not trivial to do when you run stock on RH tires.

This is a pretty intense event for me.

Was able to gold FGT championship not long ago on first attempt (with aids on). But today I tried FGT on the ring, I am eating grass like a cow. That's with sfr on, racing soft, abs, tc 1 and asm on!! No time to test further but something seems amiss. anyone got the same difficulty?
 
nope FGT is the same as before, except for new cockpit view ofc

I'm in the same shoes as you except I attempted with TCS and ABS at 1, all else off. Was able to ace HSR and Grand Valley on the first go but my FGT turned into a lawnmower on the Ring.

Is it updated? My setup I used pre-Spec 2 is crap. Especially on the Nurburgring 24hr seasonal. It was fun in A-Spec. Now, not so much.
 
The nurburgring seems so much narrower when you drive the FGT. That coped with the fact that the AI loves to stick in the middle of the track and brake ridiculously early means i spent most of my time in the grass, the first two races were easy but i gave nurburgring 1 go and just left it.
 
My tune still wrecked them, and they go too slow on certain corners, but these FGT racers seemed to be pissed when I would go to pass. The spun me, shut me down and blocked. (Won on last turn.)
 
I like the cockpit view, reminds me a bit on indycar cockpit.
I also thing that the FGT is a bit harder to drive than it was before, specially at braking from high speed to turn 1 in R246 (reverse) the car becomes so unstable....
 
I've got 2 FGT's setup differently for a) high speed tracks like Indy, Daytona and HSR, and b) another for road courses.
Each excels at the tracks they were tuned for. My driving skills need honing for sure, but the cars are able to get the job done handily. I'll post setups after work today and maybe some of you having problems will have a bit of luck with them.
 
Someone can confirm that the prize helmets can be the Simpson ones?
 
I managed to complete the events, I found them easy except for the Nurburgring one. Keeping the bloody thing on the track is the hard part of that race.
 
I tried Nurburgring 24hr and High speed ring today, pleased with the payouts 👍
AI still too dumb though, I won NBR24 by over a minute with a spin out!
Handling has definatley changes but overall lap times have remained the same so just a case of adapting I guess.

Edit- I used RH and added ballast to match the AI cars in PP.

I'm using a DS3 and I have to say, the Nurburgring one was super hard. I don't even remember how many times I choose to restart, and after countless failed attempts, I finally managed a mere 4th place. :ouch:
 
Hami, I applied your tune even though I am running RH tires and using a G27 wheel. I noticed a significant improvement in handling from my tune. I completed gold on the Eiffel and now only need to conquer the Ring.

For those looking for an extra challenge run a stock GT F and RH tires. Only the HSR is easy with this set up.
 
With the FGT you need to brake straight as much as possible on the nurb and then use the down force to help you turn, meaning still going kinda fast. So break alittle early in a straight line and roll the corner, power out. Usually a gear higher than it says if your looking at that. A big one is staying on track, dont be to aggressive on the curbs with the throttle. Dont over drive and be smooth

Entering Nord. I'm at p6 and at the carousel I'm near or at p1. If i mess up I dont catch p1 till the 2nd to last turn before the back straight on the 1st lap. Race hard tires

Braking while turning in this thing usually means spin city. I found that easing on the brakes helps a lot too. Overall, I enjoyed these events. I have not had that pulse-pounding feeling since I did the A-Spec FGT event!
