Is the rule that if you cause a red, you're out? Or only if you can't continue under your own power?

The latter. They confirmed he couldn't get out because the wing was wedged under the barrier. Reverse was working.

That was a slick recovery from Russell earlier.

George on the softs!

George putting on slicks?

Merc. mechanics preparing for code brown.

Looks like George and Mercedes are taking their brave pills.

Ooofff...so odds on yellow or red flag? Could be sliding on off the track, but brave move.

Aaand that didn't work.

Russel the overly optimist.

Alonso will drop like a rock tomorrow.

The master of toilet takes will probably tell us that Hamilton asked Mercedes to put Russell on slicks in order to ruin his session.

Fun session and grid, shame it'll be dry tomorrow though, usual order will be set by the pit stops. Just hope Sainz can challenge Ver.

Also damn Hamilton for messing up George's session, forcing him onto the slicks. /s

"For some reason there's a lot of Tifosi in Canada" - Carlos Sainz Jr.

The father of the man interviewing you might be responsible for that, Carlos.

Loved the enthusiasm when Alonso went P2. Should be a spicy race.

I don't see any sign of life in Carlos anymore.

Alonso on the front row is a beautiful thing. Probably won't be able to keep up in dry conditions but in the wet his skill had a chance to shine.

Max P1, Hamilton P4, happy with this. Really want to see Hamilton on the podium. Will also be keeping a close eye on Leclerc, other drivers have come back from similar situations. Want to see lots of overtakes from him.

I think Russell could have gotten P3 easily on Hamilton given their delta throughout the sessions. Glad to see he wasn't willing to settle for that and took the gamble to go for pole. Mercedes could have used one this year.
