Leclercs done.
Also probably means delayed start of whatever because we can't race in a bit of rain.
It's probably the right decision if so, these full wets are absolutely useless.
F1 cars had TC in the past, and then it got banned. It's high time these cars have some form of traction control for racing in these conditions, like just... almost every other modern road car in the planet.
Yes, and as a result, they are right now the only 4-wheel vehicles in Miami that cannot drive in the rain.F1 cars had TC in the past, and then it got banned.
See my edit, traction is not the main issue. Visibility is. Adding TC wouldn't make much of a difference in being able to drive in the rain.Yes, and as a result, they are right now the only 4-wheel vehicles in Miami that cannot drive in the rain.
Formation lap to take place behind Safety Car
We've just received the following notice from the FIA:
"Race Control have taken the decision to start the formation lap on time behind the safety car to clear any standing water from the track."
As far as we understand, we should still get a regular standing start, but there might be an extra formation lap or two before we get that.
Looks like it's starting in 10 minsRed flag.
Whelp, no sprint race today. Heavier rain incoming.
Lame. Vettel got his first win in worse conditions than this.
Yeah if the sun would pop out for about 10 minutes or so it would dry it almost completely up except for under the bridges.Holding a race in Miami, where pop up rain storms are as common as can be b/c Florida, right as rainy season starts. Hope they manage to improve racing in the rain for this sport, b/c we're here for the next 15 years.
This is going to be a real short race with all the formation laps they have to remove from the total (so no one runs out of gas). The current plan is to have 2 laps behind safety car, in order to give all drivers a chance to go through T1, and then make a decision on standing vs rolling start
