Just when I was about to yell "get the safety car off the track" Russell goes and retire too!! Let's get back to racing already

That's it for George I reckon - harsh on him, but Mercedes will now throw their weight behind Kimi for the rest of the season.
 
Happy to see this win for Ford. The first for them since another chaotic race, the 2003 Brazil GP

That safety car was not needed, the mobile crane didn't even have its full arm extended to even try to reach the car, sorry that was a just an excuse to drive it onto the track & waste time to get an even less of a sprint finish

Don’t think Ferrari could’ve asked for a better comeback than that after what happened in the beginning. Excellent result for Lewis!
 
That was quite the not-exactly-Bahrain-GP. Massive strategy gambles at the start, Max retaking the lead after a crap start, Lawson fighting tooth and nail against the top teams, terrible weekend for Russell and epic comeback from Lewis. I think we can all agree that we missed Sepang, and dearly wish it could come back as a regular in the calendar once again.
 
Driver of the day for me was Lewis. That was a really strong drive by him. Especially considering how far from the back he was by going on the slick and not pitting. The safety car helped but him slicing through the pack was fun to watch and to finish on the podium too. Great job! With the pace he was showing, it sucks that we didn't get another Max vs Lewis battle after so long, even if I reckon Max would have won.

On that note, well done Max!! Well deserved win. This one was his to lose. He looked in control the whole time as the champion that he is.

George....I think you should just focus on getting Merc the WCC and forget about that Driver title this year because clearly, someone in the universe doesn't want you to have it.

Now, why is this track not on the calendar? when we have the likes of Madring that produce absolutely horrible racing. Other than the safety car shenanigans and all the time wasted, this was a very entertaining race.

Strange race. So many delays and botched tire strategies at the start.

McLaren Mclaren'd.

Mercedes had less pace than I thought.

Alonso points! Not bad for a rookie.

Having only watched the highlights video, looks like Hamilton did an outstanding job at confounding the classically inept Ferrari strategists.

Delighted that Alonso scored a few more points again.
 
Verstappen now has as many podiums this year as Russell
