This strategy needs to be outlawed, it's unsporting and borderline dangerous, not to mention that it makes a boring race even worse.

There has to be an issue with the detection/line or something, never seen anything like this.

So how they do pitline penalties is they have a timing loop every 10 meters in the track. So they’re not speed guns or radars, it’s purely timestamps.

These are cut and buried into the tarmac - so they have either moved since last year (always possible at street circuits if they re-surface) or the drivers/teams are just miscalculating the location of the loops.

Other option is that all the teams have got the rev limiter wrong as this is a 60kph limit not the usual 80kph.

I can't imagine this many teams separately having their limiters set wrong

If there's a problem with the pitlane speed sensor, and everyone just went through the pits, won't they all get penalties again??

You can serve under the safety car, no issues there.

George Russell didn't serve his however so may take another penalty for failing to serve his penalty.

I believe the rules are that you can't take a stop&go or drive-through during a SC. A time penalty can (and must) be served on any pitstop.
