The singular round in South America awaits as Brazil gets its first race with a home driver since 2017 with the arrival of Gabriel Bortoleto. Interlagos rarely fails to produce one of the best races of the season, as the old school layout punishes mistakes and encourages exciting races and battles on an historic layout which is always at risk of being soaked by the regular rainshowers which are ever present at the circuit. Another Sprint event beckons, ready to see a crazy title-changing collision only cost the rivals 6 points? I know I want to see there be no consequences and a chance to make up for it in the proper race afterwards... Well we can get it going at the SAO PAULO GRAND PRIX!

Looks like a chance of rain on Friday afternoon and throughout Saturday, but not torrential enough to cause a stoppage. Simply lovely for Max.

I worry for whoever has Max behind them at the starts should he not get pole. This is certainly one to win for Max if he wants to stay in the race and he's in full send-it mode with nothing to lose.

Hopefully Lewis can get a podium, even a win if he can unlock some pace and get a bit of luck. Running out of races this season to get a strong result. Prefer Lando to open up big points buffer so he can wrap up title with race/s spare so he can avoid risk of misfortune playing a part of losing it.

100% rooting for Lewis this weekend. I think this might be his last chance to get a podium this year, but may well also the best chance he had all year.

Encouraging start to the weekend for Piastri fans. Even ignoring the always misleading practice times, he just looks happy to be back on a proper track instead of the slidey dustbowls.

Meanwhile Max and the Ferraris up to something sneaky, saving tyres and down the bottom of the timings.

Both Ferraris completed the session on the same set of hard tires they started with.

Meanwhile McLarens are in a different Galaxy. Piastri looks like he's back on form so I guess it's game on, every single point counts...not that they haven't been but with 4 races left including this one, neither one can afford to make any mistakes and leaving points on the table. Max is out there lurking and waiting to pounce 😆

Ferrari not looking great :/
Hamilton knocked out in SQ2.
Leclerc spinning and no pace either. Might have saved himself with the spin.

It’s only the sprint. It’s only the sprint.

Kimi ! Front row with Lando. Going to see Ayrton clearly helped.

Alonso ahead of Verstappen, Stroll ahead of Leclerc.

Lando really saved his best form for the right part of the season. Awesome for Kimi. Verstappen surprisingly absolutely nowhere.

According to Crofty, Ferrari apparently has a lot more downforce on their cars compared to the other teams that are ahead of them. I'm guessing they were expecting it was going to be a wet weekend throughout 🤷‍♂️

Didn’t seem to be helping them in the middle sector where you’d expect.

Hamilton probably going to get a penalty for ignoring double yellows. He didn’t slow down or lift off when Leclerc spun ahead of him.

Thanks to this on going dispute between ESPN and YouTube TV I'm going to miss the entire weekend. I don't want to subscribe to something short term and then they resolve it next week or something like that.

No penalty for Lewis, just a reprimand. The stewards wouldn’t dare penalise him again, especially in Brazil.

Very wet track from the morning rain. More later. Hopefully not enough to cause any delays, but I guess it all depends on the spray levels.

Driver error. Damn. Not like this.

Apparently Lando hit the curb and sprayed water on the racing line which caught them all out. Crazy.
