Lando is working really well with the car in the last races, so Piastri needs to take every opportunity he can to preserve or gain points. There are still a good amount of points up for grabs, but the momentum keeps going in Lando's favor.
 
JFC, that Bortoleto crash was the polar opposite of Lewis's "brake magic" problem 4 years ago.

Another case of turning the car while DRS is open, probably hindered by the damp track. Odd that Saubers seems to have the most DRS crashes (Nasr Canada 2016, Ericsson Silverstone 2018, Ericsson Monza 2018, Bortoleto Brazil 2025)
 
Bearman got another penalty point (and a meaningless 5 secs) for the incident with Lawson. Back up to 9 points, will be in danger of a ban for quite a while still.
 
Sauber is not repairing Bortoletos car, instead opting for building an entire new car. New chassis, engine, gearbox and all.
It's gonna be very close to make it though.
They can't use Hulkenbergs mechanics, as that car also needs more repairs.

Qualy slightly delayed due to a barrier repair from a support race.

If the chassis is changed, the car can't be driven that day, so no Bortoleto for quali then. He will have to wait until tomorrow

I'm not 100% sure about the chassis change. They definitely mentioned swapping the engine and gearbox, and said they weren't repairing the car. I assumed that meant a chassis change.

They said they were on the edge of making qualy, but on schedule.

Harsh. Have to watch it again. My first impression was that it was Liam‘s fault.
 
Much warmer now than for the sprint, which might slow the Mercs down a little.

Felt like a 50/50 to me, but mostly a racing incident.

Doesn't look like Sauber will make it 😢
Edit: Bortoleto is suiting up though. Car doesn't look particularly assembled...

Gasly and Bearman in top 3. Colapinto and Ocon knocked out. Make sense of that.

It didn't stop Max last year so I wouldn't count him out of the championship until the maths says so.

Absolute shocker for Max. First time he's eliminated in Q1 on pace in his entire career, apparently.
Jos is there today, if Max shows up with a black eye tomorrow, we'll know what happened 😅

Looks like Sauber got very close, but just about ran out of time. Massive efforty still, though.

I think He's been doing well lately but let's not jump it too soon. IMO, he's still way too inconsistent.

Is that all track evolution for those teams that are normally not at the front? We just witnessed both Red Bull taken out but looks like Ferrari might be next from the looks of it!

Another shocker for Lewis. This season has for sure been one to forget for him.
The top 10 is definitely an interesting mix.
