Turns left in a left hand bend

Gets hit by a car clearly behind, but who had nowhere to go because of Alonso on the inside.

Racing incident for anyone not wearing Lando blinders.
Maybe keep that footage rolling? The incident was at the apex where Oscar just should have held the line, but unfortunately made the choice to make a hard left.

Look at some replays my man.

Seen them, as have many others and you're the only person (shockingly) I've seen with this opinion.

Moving on from this nonsense. I've got a good feeling for a very exciting qualifying session, neither McLaren now is going to want to be on the 2nd row, there's gonna be an almighty battle for pole coming.

Not really helping your argument. Piastri is following the same basic trajectory as Verstappen and Norris. If his line was erratic so must theirs be. Hulkenberg is still going straight on, past the apex of the corner. The more I look at it the more I think he was the lucky one.

Everyone blaming the wrong person anyway. It was actually Fernando’s fault. He’s sabotaging McLaren’s title hopes. The ultimate revenge.

You're such a lovely guy. Anyway. Here are my grabs and here's how I see it:

Instead of holding his line Oscar dartet towards the inside on the exit unaware of Hulk and Alonso who took a tighter line.

No idea how you come to the conclusion that Hulk is to blame. I maintain that this could also easy have been a penalty for Oscar. It was obviously seen as a racing incident - fair enough. It's still Oscars fault. The cut back was not on.

Great! Now keep it runnig just a bit longer to see Oscar leaving this trajectory and going for the inside which was unfortunaly taken.

Even for a Championship-battling Teammate crash, this was a disappointment, and very much a microcosm of 2025.

Forget your Senna/Prost Suzuka crash, or your Hamilton/Rosberg Barcelona crash or your Vettel/Webber Istanbul crash, this Piastri/Norris crash was just a bit...meh.

  • Norris bottled the start, but was more aggressive into T1.
  • Not even in a proper race
  • They were actually trying to avoid each other
  • A third car got involved that shouldn't be anywhere near the dominant McLarens
  • Max Verstappen profited without even getting involved.
  • Random podium by a midfield car.

The overhead shot just shows that the corner is designed to cause this exact thing. Cars taking 5 different lines and converging on the same spot.

100%, but it's also the killer feature of this track + the fact that it's kinda steep. I think it's a 30 meter elevation change or something?

Super cool.

This is my #1 most wanted track for GT7 because I desperately want to see it in VR.

No VR sadly but I’m looking forward to racing it in Nascar 25.

This is really dumb if true. Singapore was just a standard turn 1 incident, if a bit clumsy.

Oscar sitting in the garage now whilst Lando has been sent out first to overheat in the queue.

Ah man. Hulk out in Q2 with a deleted lap. I hope Bearman can hold on to P10.

edit: Bleh, too much bare carbon on the McLarens. Needs more white.

moar edit: How the hell is Max up almost 0.4...

Though it missed out on a second run. Red Bull screw up for the second day running.

Max gives everyone a second shot and they still can’t beat him. Norris 2nd, Piastri only 6th.

Disappointing lap from Piastri. Hope his car's OK for tomorrow. Lando's in a good place to shave a decent chunk off his WDC gap.

Piastri just hasn't had the confidence on this circuit this weekend. Brilliant lap from Max and a great lap for Norris under pressure to maximise his session. Russel from P4 will be tasty.

Max is too good. Their only hope is that the heat cooks his tyres.

He really could win it all again. I don’t see anywhere left where McLaren have an advantage, other than the (rapidly decreasing) lead in the standings.

We could be in for an epic finale for these regulations.

Having just caught up on the sprint: a racing incident but Hülkenberg's error.

Calamitous to take both McLarens out, it's 1983 when Ferrari should have won the drivers title but competitive tall poppy syndrome saw them focus on the duo rather than ensure someone is going to win it. And it's like 2021 except, ironically, Verstappen is the one having a strong second-half and rapidly closing in from nowhere.

It's the Jaguar in Formula E tactic. Fight each other so hard and "fair" that you ensure that another team's driver steals the title.
