Sad thing is, if this was any other racing series, we’d be talking about Stroll looking the strongest for a pole tomorrow.

Instead we all sit here knowing that Mercedes will just “magically” find 2 seconds of pace in quali. Shame really, but you can’t fault the team for getting it right.

Yeah it's a shame the temperatures are going to be cooler tomorrow as it still looks like the Merc is struggling in the intense heat.

It's not going to change much in the grand scheme of things, but Kvyat has a 5 place grid penalty for a gearbox change. Potentially good news for Russell and the Haas/Alfas for tomorrow.

Well so far not really had any representative laps with the track temp yesterday being 49c, im curious were the pace truly is now that temps are lower and the aero / tyres are more optimal. Im expecting some obscenely fast laps in q3 today... I think next week might be the better weekend as its forecast to be hot which could shake things up if the mercs are not enjoying the heat...

FP3 and Vettel's car again - like it seems - pedal issue. Not his weekend (yet?)
Albon finally also on track after some electrical challenges of his RB16.

Russell, through Q1 again punching above his weight again (hope the stewards dont do him for not slowing under latifi's yellow), Gasly doing well too

Russell indeed WOW*! Gasly and Ocon performed also very good in Q1.
Ok Hulk has a fast car but he still has to do it without consistent training etc. 👍

* apperently under investigation. Did he lift throttle under yellow because his team mate went off track?

didnt look like he lifted but latifi had rejoined the track... wont know what the stewards will do until after the session they really are sluggish...

Q2 and Bottas is already faster than last year.

1.25.0 in Q2 stint 1 for Bottas :dopey:
Lewis shows he is also human ;)

Session red flagged after Lewis got an unwanted phone call from Binotto at the exit of Luffield.

Bottas is on a mission....already so much faster than the record last year on Medium tires no less!

With the gravel there and everyone one spinning the corner we're going to be getting a heavily interrupted race.

I haven’t been able to watch with commentary, is Hamilton still able to compete for the rest of qualy after causing the red flag?

Yeah, he's on the track right now trying to post a time

Hulk about to be taken out in Q2 by 1 tenth :(

"Hulk in the top 10"
Yes!
"Hulk knocked out of the top 10"
Damn!

Albon is done at RBR.

Feel bad for Albon he cant seem to catch a break...

Stroll gets into Q3 by 0.000 over Gasly, who doesn't.

Tbh I am a bit happy in the sense that Seb may really get that seat.

LeClerc is in trouble defo unsafe release... Unreal 1.24.616 lap record for Hamilton wow

Over a second clear for the Mercedes!!! That gap is insane .....assuming nothing happens, they are just going to walk away with the race completely unchallenged!

yeah he would have said more about his future but he's hedging his bets for that RB seat... Poor Alex though...

Absolutely :censored:ing ridiculous, cannot wait for the Mercedes dynasty to eventually end cause good lord.

This season is a ****ing write-off. I hate the FIA. Way to do nothing to close the field for the last 6 years.

And new regs are pushed back to 2022. So next year will be the Mercedes show as well. F1 is a ****ing snooze fest.

Only thing worth watching for is the midfield battles.
