Not sure I've ever seen a Newey car miss this badly. The big upgrade/revision needs to basically be a new car at this point surely.

I've always questioned whether Newey even has anything done on this car.

He joined Aston Martin when the car was already in development, and he was in a position within Aston Martin where I can imagine it only gave him very limited time to work on aerodynamic development.

I am curious as to whether he had ANYTHING to do with the overall design. Just seems baffling that after so many bangers, THIS is what comes along under his direction.

It seems like a failure along multiple fronts combining into one giant cluster. They started development late, encountered issues that slowed them down, and could not recover.

We'll see if the Hungary update has anything. If there is no hope there, they may be truly lost.

Agreed, and ADUO will only help with the engine. Whether they can reboot the entire development again under the budget cap could really put them on the ropes. How quickly will Mr Stroll lose interest.

This is absolutely hilarious. I can't remember a car being this much trash for a long time...

The car is a complete disaster. Probably the worst I've ever seen on the F1 grid, and I've been watching for almost 20 years at this point. However the most embarrasing part is that they aren't short of a dollar, unlike Virgin/Marussia, Hispania Racing Team and Team Lotus/Caterham. It's like what Niki Lauda said in Rush -"all these facilities and you build a piece of crap like this!" There is a total breakdown in communication between departments, and perhaps Newey's demands are too hard to meet. The clock is ticking though because F1 doesn't slow down for anyone... Hard discussions must be had.

Whilst they aren't short of funds, it still isn't endless and there is a cap on what they can spend. Not like they can do a 2000s Ferrari and spend until it works.

It really is a shocking car, isn't it? It doesn't even look good. Such a shame, I appreciate Newey's designs a lot, but things obviously aren't stacking up here for Aston.

I was quick to blame Honda at first, but unfortunately you're right
