Russell flying again. Even faster. Pole!

Verstappen 2nd. Piastri 3rd ahead of Antonelli.
Norris only 5th. Ferrari pace disappeared, as expected.

Wow, George with the monster lap! Impressive from both Mercs.

I hope Piastri and Norris can keep it tidy for tomorrow's start.

Amazing lap from George. I think there’s an argument to be made that he’s the driver of the season so far.
McLaren dominance seems to be gone for good.

Edit: no idea what RB is complaining about. Don’t think Lando was in Max‘s way at all.

Oh no, the Max and "not Oscar" bromance is in trouble again

I don't know why Max is attempting to blame Lando. Lando clears Turn 16 out of view just before Max gets on the brakes for it & then misses the apex where you can see Lando is already past Turn 17.

It's nobody's fault but his own, Lando is nowhere close to impeding him.

Time has come to support and focus on the leading driver at McLaren but I guess they're going to continue like this hoping for Lando and pushing towards a second 2007.

No. Even as an Oscar fan, no. They're too close and there's too many points left.

If Max continues on a tear, wins the next few races and passes Lando in the standings - they probably should but they won't.

It is totally laughable to say that you were impeded by a car who was two whole corners ahead.

Yeah I think once (if) Max makes it past Lando in the standings McLaren have to call it, but as long as they are 1+2 they should let them race.

Stella says it's an issue with bumps for the McLaren lack of pace on this track, Baku, Montreal. A bit of the old Red Bull issue re-emerging for the front-running car.

Lewis saying they screwed up the tyre prep (again) by going out too late in the queue and having to wait at the end of the pits, losing a lot of heat. Should've been out front like the Mercs.

Both Williams likely to be disqualified from qualification for DRS infringement - wing opened too much on both cars.

Rain before the race. A bit in-between now. Cars going to the grid on inters.

Verstappen may be starting on used softs - also Hadjar and Alonso. Everyone else up front on new mediums.

from Oscar's POV you can see why he's annoyed. from that view it looks like Lando just barged him off.
he can't see that Lando bumped off Max first into him.

I suspect that the pitfall will get an interesting response the next time they ask him to obey some team orders.

100%. And like the Sky Comms were just saying, I think he's approaching the point of being fed up with the "team game" that he always gets asked to play and then gets barged to the wall. So can totally see his frustrations all coming to a head.

Should they swap the position? No absolutely not. Should Oscar play the team game? Absolutely not.
