Missed the race on FS1 tape delay, but caught it a couple of hours later on youtube, it's great that they post them so quickly. Best race so far, lots of racing throughout the field, I think it was a great track for these cars.
 
I thought it was a pretty good race overall and the track layout was good too. It would have been interesting from a stewarding perspective if JEV's car wouldn't have failed.

An issue I'm seeing with the series now is that nearly every incident requires a safety car since they only race on street courses. At least they do seem to wait a little bit before employing it, like when Abt was able to restart which is good.
 
I kind of caught up on the races by watching some brief highlights of Putrajaya and Punta del Este. There seemed to be a lot of rough-up racing in the Putrajaya round, and some street course insanity at Punta del Este. These are two very good looking locales from two cities I am unfamiliar with.

I still hate having to wait ages for the next race... This time period when F1 isn't on the air could be a great time to run a season if viable to do so.
 
You got to see some of the comments people make on YouTube regarding Formula E. It's like some of them just don't care much at all about Formula E or don't think this series will evolve much into anything. Some others talk about Formula E like it's a series of mostly washed-up has-beens that couldn't cut the mustard in Formula 1 racing low-spec cars. Oh, but if somebody crashes or if absolute failure happens, people think it's the most glorious thing ever for Formula E. It's like people don't want to give Formula E much a chance. I am not asking anyone to like Formula E, but at least give it a chance. I [still] think this series has potential outside of its quality of racing.

Maybe a lot of people don't like the idea of Formula E because they can't really see anything evolving or think nothing will come out of Formula E. Either that, or people don't want Formula E to ever succeed. This series doesn't mean anything right away or immediately. However, I look at it as further evolution of electric and hybrid type racing. Maybe I see it as a further evolution towards an aspect of motoring and motorsports that we will eventually come across. Maybe I would say this is something even certain electric and hybrid racing machines can appreciate. Like, Formula E is something the Lola-Drayson B12/69EV electric race car would appreciate if it could speak.

Perhaps this series will be better appreciated in the future, but I look at this series for more than what you're seeing right away.
 
@JohnBM01 : I never have understood why so many race fans think that their race series is the best and all others suck. I like many types of racing, Formula 1, Indycar, sports cars of all kinds, even used to like NASCAR back when the cars remotely resembled something stock :D There are other types I don't care for, like drifting and rally for instance. Doesn't mean I thing they suck and I need to tear them down. The more racing the better as far as I am concerned 👍 Being an electrical engineer that has toyed around with alternative energy for decades I love the technology in FE, as well as that in LMP1-H and F1. Looking forward to future races and future years when the regs open up, it will be interesting to see what everyone comes up with.

Twelve manufacturers applied for entry into FE next year and FIA will allow 6-8 of them in. The haters here and elsewhere should have fun with this, while almost every other race series in the would is having trouble getting/maintaining manufacturers and sponsors FE doesn't have room for all who are interested! Looks like year 2 is going to be very interesting for FE 👍

Yes they are. The Powertrain will be open for manufacturers to make their own, meaning that it will not be a spec series in S2 and they can possibly bid for world championship status in the FIA.

The FIA will never grant World Championship status to a series in its inaugural season. It has to build up to that.

Does World RX not count since it was only Euro before that? As soon as they announced plans for a world championship, it got guaranteed FIA WC status.

No, it doesn't count because it was spun out of the European championship. Likewise, the WEC was spun out of the likes of ALMS and ELMS. But there was no precursor to Formula E.

WEC was actually born out the ILMC, which was the LMS and formerly known as LMES . Alms and elms are totally different entities.
 
Atleast he admitted fault straight away, but the chances you ever see him race in any car again is going to be unlikely:
"Auto sport is perhaps over for me," the Frenchman is quoted as saying.

"At the end of the race, I see the guy who tests signalling me. There, in my head, I understood immediately. I knew it was dead.

"I was ashamed."
 
Admitting fault straight away isn't exactly what happened since he only came out about it now, a month after it happened.
 
Bear in mind that if he came clean straight away, it would have done quite a bit of damage to others who did nothing wrong - Andretti Autosport, the series organisers and the FIA would all have to wear it.
 
They should have been testing prior to the race, not just once it's over. The series should get a hit on that regard.
 
I found two youtube video of Formula e simulators, these look fairly professional, could these by the official simulators that will be used at the races?
