I was totally skeptical when entering this, but wow. It made a huge difference. Only thing I changed, was doubling the brake values (8/2)... should keep roughly the same balance, but twice the stopping power.

Only beat the first race so far, but the next few shouldn't be too hard based on how Fuji went.

Thanks! 👍

Do you guys go into 2nd or 3rd gear? I use 3rd a little bit but almost never 2nd. How often do you guys use 3rd?

My FGT tune, had no problems with the FGT Championship in either A or B-Spec.
Aero:60/80
Gearing: Track specific, start around 242 for larger tracks and 211 for small tracks
LSD: 15/20/15
Height: -5/0
Spring Rate: 16.7/17.5
Ext: 6/8
Comp:5/7
Anti roll: 5/7
Camber: 2.5/1/5
Toe: -.25/.15
Brakes: 4/1

There isnt a track I've run where I've had to touch this tune other than the gearing

I'm using this set-up and am quite pleased with the results. Even with my ham-fisted, untalented driving (wreck on each of the first laps - go figure) - I have been able to get firsts in the first five Formula Gran Turismo races.

The only changes I made were:
Traction Control (TCS) - 4
Skid recovery Force - ON

I used the automatic trans setting for Cote d'azur (Monaco). It was like driving a go-cart on crack! Loved it!

Everything else was off. Soft Racing tires - I will put on Rain tires for Suzuka as I see it is raining there.

Many thanks Frosty one!

LEGEND. Helped me alot with both A-spec and B-spec. Thanks man 👍

I just used this tune for thr suzuka circuit wet race since I canceled it the first time ( already won the championship before race) n it was raining so I put racing rain tires. Race starts and I'm sliding all over the place while everyone else speeds on by. I cancel the race and go into the replay and see everyone is on racing hard and I'm the only one on rain tires. Has this happened to anyone? Usually its the other way around and I'm the only one with right tires while they all pit on the second lap for rain tires.

Just the thread I was looking for, thanks guys.

Golded everything A-Spec (L40 on B) up to and including Indy 500 ... other than this event. Tried a few different settings but either sacrifice stability or speed.

Learnt what I needed so will let you know if it all helps later on.

Happy Motoring :)

Formula Gran Turismo car! I have it and paid over 5 million crs for it. Have run that ran time and time again. I get kicked off the track and hit on all side until I want to hit someone back, like a real person. I am a good driver, Win what I go at and have finished 93% of the game. I have had the game for a bit over a month and played GT4 and won! What is wrong with this race or is that like asking what is wrong with Shift2? Yes I have that one too and all of the PS2 NFS games Can anyone tell me what you think I might be doing wrong!!???

One tip i read in another thread helped me out. Do not just default to racing soft tires for everything. I actually did more than half the races on Racing Hards. The car just seemed more stable and didn't overheat the tires as badly.

I also ran with TCS on 6, and SRF on.

I won the Championship last night with 500 points, and dropping out of the last race (damn, didn't get the track trophy for it though)

using this great tune: although I modified the LSD to each track, and transmission.

Aero: 70/90
LSD: 12/25/15 ==> I ran mine at 12/35/(25 for big long tracks, 45 Brake sensitivity for Cote D'azur)
Height: -5/0
Spr: 13.7/14.8
Ext: 6/8
Com: 5/7
Roll: 5/6
Cam: -2.7/-1.5
Toe: -0.30/-0.10
Brakes: 4/1 (I changed mine to 9/2)
Tranny at 400 KM/hr for Fuji, 390KM for others, and 330 KM/hr for Cote D'azur in Auto.
as found on : https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showth...=result&page=8

only AID used was SRF - skid recovery, the rest, including TC, all 0 / off.

G25 wheel. Manual shifting for all except for Cote D'Azur

Best Laps
1:14:50 Fuji
1:08:50 Indy
1:11:50 Cote Azur
1:cant remember in Nur GP, was busy laughing at AI crashing every lap in chicane
1:18 Monza
I was reaaly tired to do a clean lap in Susucka, I quit, still won.

Finally did the FGT championship today--A and B Spec. Won 11 of the 12 races--got spun hard at Monaco. That track is a bugger! Most intense thing I've done in all of GT5, hands down. Glad that's done and a game save on the flash drive!

I just wanted to post an alternative... I personally don't like driving with a car high above the track (personal choice really) and using a basis on these layouts I believe I found one quite stable. Heck, all i know is that my lvl 19 b-spec driver aced the championship, were it not for me skipping the last two races because of time management... (Once I got this, I practiced twice on individual tracks winning gold straigt away, went for the championship and won easily. (Mind you this is coming sixth in cotê and skipping one race...

Just try it out if you wish, and tell me what you think ;)

Hey pal! This tune is awesome! Made my FGT handle like a toy. I have finally managed to gold the FGT Championship.

Thanks a million!

Hey, I used this configuration and it doesn't help. I'm trying B-Spec and my driver is still losing. His level is 28. What's wrong?

Thank you for this setup. I have this thread Bookmarked for future reference, and I am about to enter the Formula GT races to try this out.
I will post my results after the series is completed.

Make sure you have fresh oil, I also had a engine rebuild just before this race, because i had been grinding for 10k miles on endurance races with this car.

Also my B-spec driver is Level 27, so if your a lower level, it might take you a little longer to get first, but the car setup is perfect for you. Give your best driver a break for a few races unitl his status is a blue upward arrow before using him for this race.

Race 1

Front Downforce - 70
Rear Downforce - 90
Front Breaks - 4
Rear Breaks - 1
Front Ride Height - 5
Rear Ride Height - 5
Transmission/ Top Speed - 261MPH
Spring Rate Front - 17.5
Spring Rate Rear - 17.5
Extension Dampers Front - 8
Extension Dampers Rear - 8
Compression Dampers Front - 6
Compression Dampers Rear - 6

You will gain most of your positions towards the end of the straight, while maintaining a solid pace through the bends. It should take you about 4-8 laps to take first place.

Race 2

Front Downforce - 70
Rear Downforce - 90
Front Breaks - 4
Rear Breaks - 1
Front Ride Height - 5
Rear Ride Height - 5
Transmission/ Top Speed - 249MPH
Spring Rate Front - 17.5
Spring Rate Rear - 17.5
Extension Dampers Front - 8
Extension Dampers Rear - 8
Compression Dampers Front - 6
Compression Dampers Rear - 6

Again you will gain most of your positions towards the end of the straight, while maintaining a solid pace through the bends. You will hit the rev limit just before the end of the straight. It should take you about 4-8 laps to take first place.

Race 3

Front Downforce - 70
Rear Downforce - 90
Front Breaks - 7
Rear Breaks - 2
Front Ride Height - -10
Rear Ride Height - -10
Transmission/ Top Speed - 199MPH
Spring Rate Front - 18.5
Spring Rate Rear - 18.5
Extension Dampers Front - 8
Extension Dampers Rear - 8
Compression Dampers Front - 6
Compression Dampers Rear - 6

Wow, this one is a ball ache, but with such a low gear ratio you will overtake on the short straights and through the tight corners. I had 3rd on lap 2, but first place didnt come till i was on lap 7 but then run away with it for the rest of the race. I also upped the breaks for this race. Twice in testing, the AI spun out and caused a pile up, which can be a bit of a nightmare to come back from, but its still possible.

Race 4

Front Downforce - 70
Rear Downforce - 90
Front Breaks - 7
Rear Breaks - 2
Front Ride Height - -10
Rear Ride Height - -10
Transmission/ Top Speed - 236MPH
Spring Rate Front - 18.5
Spring Rate Rear - 18.5
Extension Dampers Front - 8
Extension Dampers Rear - 8
Compression Dampers Front - 6
Compression Dampers Rear - 6

This one is childs play. I used the same setup as race 3 but upped the top speed. I pushed my guy too hard on lap 1 and he spun off 3 times. but he took first again before the end of lap 2. Simples

Race 5

Front Downforce - 70
Rear Downforce - 90
Front Breaks - 3
Rear Breaks - 1
Front Ride Height - -10
Rear Ride Height - -10
Transmission/ Top Speed - 249MPH
Spring Rate Front - 18.5
Spring Rate Rear - 18.5
Extension Dampers Front - 8
Extension Dampers Rear - 8
Compression Dampers Front - 6
Compression Dampers Rear - 6

Another easy race, you can have first place within 2 laps, there are loads of good straights to take places on this race.

Race 6

Front Downforce - 70
Rear Downforce - 90
Front Breaks - 3
Rear Breaks - 1
Front Ride Height - -10
Rear Ride Height - -10
Transmission/ Top Speed - 249MPH
Spring Rate Front - 18.5
Spring Rate Rear - 18.5
Extension Dampers Front - 8
Extension Dampers Rear - 8
Compression Dampers Front - 6
Compression Dampers Rear - 6

Exact same setup as before, you will push your way to the front in no time at all.

A good tip, at the start of each, as soon as you start, when the clock starts to count you in 3,2,1 - Tell your driver to increase pace and he will get a good clean start, which is essential for this series of races.

Good luck, show some love for my work and leave some rep.
This setup is amazing, bob had lapped everyone at least once in each race.

Nice set-up

I tried tuning the Formula GT myself () and I was struggling with it, 1.18s around Fuji were common. I tried this tune last night and I won a few individual Formula GT races, and tonight I am doing the Championship. I just won the race at Fuji with a best lap time of 1.14.8xx, and was consistently running low 1.15s. The only adjustment was, as mentioned previously, brake balance 8/2 instead of 4/1. Either way, it works a treat, so thanks for sharing :)👍

Incidentally, the first race in the FGT championship @ Fuji is one tough race. I won after a near-perfect race, no spins, no-offs, and running steady 1.15.xxx laps, and I still only won by 4.9 seconds

Stupid Bob trashed my FGT and my X1. What's your best HP for the FGT?? Mine is stuck at 923HP after oil changes. 1.5Mil seems a lot for an engine rebuild...and another 2.5Mil for chassis maintainance!! What sort of tires do you use for GT championship?? Racing hard, med. or soft??

I just Started the Formula Gran Turismo Race and I am going to try out these settings out on A&B-spec.

I was using the Setup from my previous post with some luck, but I am going to try these out to see which I feel more comfortable with.

I'll update my post with my results.

The set-up on the first page is AWESOME! First in the 1st 2 so far. You Must Be gentle with the throttle from 1st to 3rd, in & out of the corners. After a few laps I was topping my lap times consecutively. Thanks.
