Forza 7 Thumbnail Leaks

I'll honestly be really surprised if we don't see at least ONE of these cars as DLC, hopefully by next month. Here's to hoping they return to their regular schedule and release DLCs on the first Tuesday of the month (May 1st).

Honestly, I'm leaning more towards these cars being Horizon 4.

The fact that so many of them are British kind of makes me feel that way.. Granted there is the odd none British one like the Mustang, but even then, the Mustang recently became for sale here for the first time ever.

Ofcourse I could be wrong but that's how I see it.

Two things; we are not guaranteed to have anymore dlc going beyond April so I will hold my breath until next Friday and see whats said during the WIR. Second is if we are in fact getting more dlc packs then we will have to see if at least one of those cars within those leaks are in plus don't forget the other hidden leaked cars that have not made it yet. The infiniti Q60, the Porsche 917 and the Lexus RCF GT3...if any of those cars are shown in a potential dlc pack next month then we can bet the rest will follow in the months to come.

I'm pretty sure we are regardless of a guarantee or not. T10 leaves a note specifically outlining that the K1 Speed Attack pack is the final pack included in the Car Pass discount.
NOTE: The K1 Speed Car Pack is the final car pack included in the Forza Motorsport 7 Car Pass.
Seeing as the Car Pass has also, always been 6 specific packs (the 1st six), it seems well implied there will be other packs it won't apply a discount to.

On top of that, dating all the way back to FM3, it would seem very odd to end DLC support for the game now given:
FM3 had 11 Car Packs
FM4 had 12 Car Packs
FM5 had 9 Car Packs + 3 Booster Packs
FM6 has 10 Packs + 2 Expansions

Here are the cars that have been leaked for the Forza franchise since Forza Horizon 3.

  • 2012 Ascari KZ1-R Limited Edition
  • 1964 Aston Martin DB5 Vantage 007 Edition
  • 1962 Austin FX4 Taxi
  • 1965 Austin-Healey 3000 MkIII
  • 1958 Austin-Healey Sprite MkI
  • 1931 Bentley 8-Litre
  • 1937 Bugatti Type 57S
  • 2012 Eagle Speedster
  • 2077 Fallout Atom
  • 1983 Ford Escort RS Turbo
  • 2014 Ford Fiesta GRC
  • 2019 Ford Mustang GT 5.0
  • 2016 Honda Civic GRC
  • 1971 Jensen Interceptor
  • 2011 Kia Cee'd 3
  • 2016 Lexus RCF GT3
  • 2019 McLaren Senna
  • 2013 MG MG3
  • 1965 MG MGB GT
  • 2010 Morgan Aero SuperSports
  • 1952 Morris Minor Series II
  • 1962 Peel P50
  • 1988 Peugeot 405 T16

True. I'm just more or less saying that since T10 has been more disappointing and unpredictable with this iteration of Forza 7. But either way I'm open to more dlc....let's see what happens.

That really only started recently.

FM7 - Porsche 911 GT2 RS: Announced alongside game
FH3 - Lamborghini Centenario: Announced as cover car of "next Forza game" when unveiled
FM6 - Ford GT: Announced alongside game
FH2 - Lamborghini Huracan: The car was announced in March while the game was unveiled in June. I couldn't find an FH3 type announcement.
FM5 - McLaren P1: The car was unveiled in Sept. 2012 while the game was unveiled May of 2013.
FH1 - SRT Viper: Unveiled in June 2012, appeared in FM4
FM4 - Ferrari 458: Car was unveiled in 2009, game didn't release until 2011
FM3 - Audi R8 5.2: Car unveiled in December 2008, guessing the game wasn't announced until June 2009.
FM2 - Nissan 350Z: Started production in 2002, game came out 2007
FM1 - Acura NSX: Unveiled in 2001, game came out in 2005.
Actually, the 458 appeared in FM3 also.

Yep. Two things to note though for both of these.

For FM4, the F10 M5 did grace the cover of the Collector's Edition b/c of T10's collaboration with the manufacturer. The car, according to Wiki, debuted publicly at Frankfurt in Sept. 2011 & would go on sale in Nov. 2011. Prior to that however, T10 claims the car was revealed at the exclusive BMW M-Festival which took place shortly before 2011 24 Hours of Nurburgring in June. During M-Fest, T10 already had the car modeled and available for party goers to "drive" the car which in a way, meant when the game launched in Oct. 2011, said car was sort of unveiled to the public alongside the game's release.

For FM5, it was kind of a similar deal. True, the P1 did debut in 2012 at Paris. But, the car also debuted in 2013 at Geneva in its full production form in March. At E3 when FM5 was released & the P1 was displayed, the car was still very fresh in the public's eyes, as orders would not begin until late 2013.

Basically, you are completely right that the trend of a cover car being revealed along with the game is a very young trend, but I think that decision can be traced back to FM4 when T10 really started working closely with BMW & McLaren on specific cars well before release & were picking them as cover cars because of their involvement. IIRC, the only reason Audi was on the cover of FM3 was not because of the R8, but because T10 had a small partnership with Audi during its development as well; there was a Audi TT FM Edition in which owners were given copies of the game as well.

I've just been informed that there was another new thumbnail that I missed during my first search:

thumbnail_397_big.png

Also, for a timescale reference, I've also been told that only this thumbnail and a few others were added in the most recent update, meaning that a lot of these thumbnails were added at some point between launch and the March update.

These are the thumbnails that were actually newly added in April:
  • April's DLC cars
  • Monaro VXR8
  • 007 Aston DB5
  • Bentley 8 Litre
  • Austin Healey Sprite
  • Morris Minor
  • Ford Fiesta GRC
  • Peel P50

EDIT: I've also found this. I'm clueless about old open wheel cars so I can't figure out if it's in the game already, and I can't ID it myself, but its ID (2480) isn't in the audio XML files which otherwise contain every single car in the game. Any ideas?

Great find! It’s a 1966 Cooper T81 Maserati (V12) with the areas for the Numbers not (yet) finished:

Well things are lining up and definitely looking interesting. With 7 cars on that list it would make sense that could possibly be a car pack...

Aren't there usually 2 or 3 car packs post-Car Pass?
..or 4 and or a car expansion...depends. but if trends continue we should POSSIBLY expect at least another 4 car packs. Another thing to add based on these leaks, besides the Lexus RCF GT3 there's not a single modern GT or prototype racer to be found. Going by that there's two main possibilities either there may be an Imsa Expansion that's hidden and will be released at some point or T10 just may not for some reason be adding many more modern racers. But again we have to see just how credible these leaks are as time goes on starting with May.

THAT'S JO BONNIER'S COOPER-MASERATI

(And it'd make sense to see it added to the game anytime soon, seeing as they a) the Formula 60s division hasn't received any new metal since the RA300 joined the roster in the early days of the FM6 car pass, b) T10 has already dropped in a 250F featuring the same V12 engine as the Cooper. Also, IIRC the specific car is currently part of the Donington Grand Prix Collection, and if they got in there with all of their photogrammetry tools, we have a few exciting years ahead of us!)
