I just tried to stand on the side of the road and let the drivatars pass me, to listen to engine sounds and
the sound of AI cars was very faint. Then I chased a Viper and an LFA in bonnet view - veery quiet.
Maybe the demo doesn't have all effects and stuff? In Forza 5 usually other car's exhausts are louder than mine.

Weird....mine sounded nearly identical to the FM5 sounds. I was stopped in a tunnel listening to them pass to get a virtual woody....moist!
 
Can't wait to try this demo tonight, thanks for the impressions so far. The Audio sounds like a setback, but at least there is a work around, hopefully this issue will be adjusted in the future.
 
Played the demo with my wheel last night and had a great time once I took off all the assists. But Im confused on the different ways to buy this game and what you get with it. I understand that since Im a VIP in Forza 5 that I will get $10 off the VIP in Horizon 2 but its only good with the DIGITAL download of the game. I realy dont want a digital download, but if I do decide to get a digital download will Mircrosoft give the option of "pre download"? Or can I buy the phsical game and then buy my VIP thru the Xbox and get my $10 off??...I want this game and if I need to preorder with GS I need to do it quickly..What is the best way??

You can pre download it right now, but can't play it till 30th September 00:01 am (or 4th October if you aren't in America)
 
I didn't want to wait until amazon etc got round to sending me the disk so plumped for digital download.

It's not like there's much else on my Xbox One hard drive anyway.
 
You can own a physical copy and still digitally download the pass & the VIP. I haven't decided on the pass, but I was able to download the VIP and still have the discount even though I have a pre order with gamestop.

I need to check out this demo for sure tonight. I forgot about it until it was too late last night. I am planning to pre-order this tomorrow.
 
The tuning (although its locked with the car they give you in the Demo) is exactly like FM5...great news for me.......The last Horizon burnt me but Ill be getting this one for sure..especialy if you can paint the cars like in FM5..Also the Physics are pretty good to be an "arcadey" type game...you can tell a huge difference between road and dirt....
 
The huracans engine sounds new. T10 really did record this one

Reposting the map just to remind us how much more map we have to look forward to :)

Okay...questions are now popping up!

* I doubt if the X360 version will have the same map

* Will the engine sounds get the same boost as in the X1 version?

* The improvement in physics along with the ability to tune is really making me want to get H2

If the X360 has the same physics and engine sounds, along with tuning... I think it might be a worthwhile purchase, even though I do SP only. Weather, Drivatar and some of the other stuff missing from the 360 version, I do not mind living without.
 
@Speedster911 for all intents and purposes, you can consider the 360 version a completely separate game. Playground Games is developing the XBO version while Sumo Digital (who, funnily enough are also the devs for LittleBigPlanet 3) are making the 360 version.

These are the features for the Xbox 360 version:
  • Using the original Horizon engine.
  • Southern Europe is more than twice the size of Colorado.
  • 24-hour day/night cycle. No weather.
  • 720p30
  • 200+ cars.
  • 8 players online.
  • Car club max 100 people.

Features for the Xbox One version:
  • Based on the Forza 5 engine.
  • More than three times the size of Colorado
  • 24-hours day/night cycle with dynamic weather.
  • 1080p30
  • 200+ cars including some not in the 360 version (due to graphical limitations).
  • 12 players online.
  • Car club max 1000 people.
  • Drivatars return from Forza 5.

Oh well... if the sounds are the same in both versions (and drastically improved from the first one), it might spark my interest. Not using the FM5 engine, I was already aware of that. BTW, when you say engine, do you mean graphics only, or grahics AND physics? Cos' I wasn't all that happy with H1's handling model.The graphics were ..well..made me "mehh", nothing special.

It won't. It's running on the fh1 engine. That will almost certainly mean old physics and old sounds.

Edit: ah, I see loads have beat me to it, but you get the idea ;)
 
Downloaded and played the demo last night.

I must admit I prefer the normal Circuit racing Forza's to Horizon

with that said it was still good fun.

a few things caught me out like trying to change car view etc.

I'll probably still pick up the game when it comes out.
