The live action spot is really cool, but what was the video editor drinking when he placed the sounds for the cars,
Huracan was definitely engine swapped. :D (Listen at 0:32 seconds, V8?)
Funny, a company that has fantastic in game sounds dubs their trailers with crappier and inaccurate sounds. It's basically the opposite of PD then.

I've chosen the Evo this time around and jumped back on, listening through my headphones.

Anyone concerned about the car sounds need not worry; the Evo sounds mega. Really bassy thrum at idle, a gravelly tone in the lower revs, the gruff, rally car sound at speed and a nicely audible blow-off whistle.

I set the sound to:

Radio - 1
SFX - 8
Car - 10
Tyres - 6

I'll be setting it to that in the full game, too.

Edited to add - oh my god, tunnels in this game are pure sound porn!

The church in Castelletto looked familiar to me, turns out its a real church from Positano, which appears to be the main influence on the town in-game.

There is actually a part similar to that in the demo. It is also a part with unbreakable concrete barriers that do not let you go offroad. It is one of the few parts of the demo where you cant actually explore the entire map. I kept trying to go around the walls or break through and you cant. So unless this changes in the full game, there are still parts of the map you cant "fully" explore. Which is still okay because the majority of the map, you can. I guess it makes sense otherwise people would just jump down the entire hill and skip the track during a race.

:lol::lol:.... "Quick Starsky... down there... I see a shortcut!"

Hmm... do I detect engine sound inaccuracy in FH2??

Isn't it the other way around? They had REAL engine sounds in trailers and the game has.. well, game sounds?

Hopefully they can finally get the zonda sound right

Don't remember the Zonda in Horizon 1, but FM4's Cinque Roadster wasn't completely spot on, though the Zonda R was damn nearly 100% accurate.

The Evo 10 in FM4 wasn't the most memorable sound, it sounded too straightforward and boring.. though the older Evos in the game were good representations, particularly the one from the Tommy Makinnen era.. the Evo 5 or 6 I believe.

I think H2 is really going to offer you X1 owners a handful in terms of sound. 👍

The game has the true sound though

Quick thought on the zonda, Funny to think that gran turismo's sound sample for it is rather accurate, and, stranger still, runs circles around all of t10s current efforts :odd:

It's not. :32 is what the Huracan sounds like, though it appears to be a sound from inside the car & not under heavy acceleration. But, that's definitely the V10 from Lamborghini in low RPMs.

Creators of commercial =/= Creators of game.

With manual w clutch can you put the car in neutral?

No but it will stall and the car can be pushed and move freely when stalled.

My brother pushed my car down a hill and it kept going while I worked on these settings....

Another Tip: If you press start just as you gain control of the Lamborghini you can get into the settings menu before it locks you out and you can play around with it with assists off.

It's SOOOO much better with assists off and manual w/ clutch.

Tip 2: If you choose the Bowler you can tune its suspension before a race; this cannot be done with the Mitsubishi although I'm not sure about the Audi.

@GranTurismo guy
@McLaren

Great to know the game is making sizable strides in terms of sound.

And yes, that is correct. V10 Lambos exhibit that menacing growl at low revs before the sound starts to get shrill mid-revs - though not similar to but somewhat reminiscent of a high-powered V8. I absolutely loved how the Evo sounded in that trailer.

Great trailer BTW. You X1'ers are lucky stiffs! :D

Okay, does Horizon 2 feature full tuning this time around? Not sure, but I might have read that somewhere.

Same tuning, upgrading, painting and body kits as Forza 5.

Not at all man, relax! 👍

I really shouldn't be complaining at all. Glad I get to game on a 360.

Will pick up a next-gen console as soon as and/or whenever I can.

Got a play last night, graphics are stunning, lighting is great, photomode is going to be awesome and the physics feel like they've got some weight about them obviously not on par with FM5 but better than the first Horizon....obviously, can't wait for the full game now :)

This guy decided to do a drive around the demo map in the Bowler, took roughly 8-9mins

For an experiment, I decided to take a S700 Bowler from Horizon 1 and do a lap around the map (excluding Red Rock, Finley Dam and Beaumont as they are only one road in and out) and it came to 12mins and 57seconds. Interesting....

The dub is of a v8. Even at low revs you can tell the number of cylinders. Listen to the note; a 5/10 cylinder would never make the flat note of the v8

Also @Speedster911 damage has 3 options:

-none
-cosmetic
-full

^^ I meant does it affect your car? And what are your thoughts on the collision physics? Does your car drag a big minibus all the way to the other end of the road at 200+ mph, whilst escaping unscathed?

Damage is the same as Forza 5, so you can feel you car pulling to the right if you've wrecked your steering, or bogging down if you've messed up the engine for example. The big difference is that (to my knowledge) there is no way of seeing what you've damaged. In free roam, you can reset the car back to being undamaged n the pause menu, but not during a race.
