So I finally played the X1 FH2 demo last night........First impressions......

The female speaking with the "10 second intro" gave me goose bumps and I loved everything about the demo after. Flashy, exciting, colorful, and exhilarating. Especially the race against the 4 fighter jets. In surround sound it was simply amazing. I actually made an "xbox record that " moment from that race.

Game is beautiful, audio is spot on, and the physics are simply wonderful. Bigger map with more exploration. Night and weather cycle is a welcome feature to the Forza series. I know night cycle was in FH1 but not weather. I also like the fact you can play with friends online in this demo. I even joined a few randoms for the bucket list.

So overall very impressed with Horizion 2. I never purchased the first Horizon and only rented it but I will be pre-ordering Horizon 2 today after work. Day 1 purchase. Great job Playground games. Huge improvement over the first Horizon. 👍

I was and still am really impressed by the IQ and now i know what method they used. 4x MSAA it is.

@Speedster911 for all intents and purposes, you can consider the 360 version a completely separate game. Playground Games is developing the XBO version while Sumo Digital (who, funnily enough are also the devs for LittleBigPlanet 3) are making the 360 version.

These are the features for the Xbox 360 version:

    • Southern Europe is more than twice the size of Colorado.
    • 24-hour day/night cycle. No weather.
    • 720p30
    • 200+ cars.
    • 8 players online.
    • Car club max 100 people.
Features for the Xbox One version:



    • Based on the Forza 5 engine.
    • More than three times the size of Colorado
    • 24-hours day/night cycle with dynamic weather.
    • 1080p30
    • 200+ cars including some not in the 360 version (due to graphical limitations).
    • 12 players online.
    • Car club max 1000 people.
    • Drivatars return from Forza 5.

Sounds, physics and graphics will be different too.
 
Had a go last night, already had it pre ordered as loved the first one but I might order another one so that I can snuggle up to it in bed whilst the other copy is in the xbox.

Love it, handling, jaw dropping graphics, smoothness, the map, variety of terrain it's a mega, mega game.

Can't wait to start building some monster cars, piloting something like a 700 hp camaro in the wet is going to be a challenge.

Deposits aren't returned because you're paying to have it reserved, which they are doing. If you now want something else reserved, you must pay again.

(At least that's how I think it works)

I agree. This is one of THE best times to get the X1 especially with all the great games coming out this 4th quarter. Its worth it alone just for The Master Chief Collection which is Halo 1, 2,3,4 and access to the Halo 5 beta out at the end of this year.

Yes you can easily switch your pre order from one system to another. Even a simple phone call will usually work. In fact I switched my Destiny pre order from the 360 to the X1, only a few weeks before the game came out. Pre order is really just a place holder which can easily be moved around.

I must admit I prefer the normal Circuit racing Forza's to Horizon

with that said it was still good fun.

Ditto. It's a nice change of pace but it would be awesome if they included just a single normal circuit on the outskirts of city that you could drive to.

Maybe horizon 3 will take place in Germany and you could drive to the Nürburgring!
 
Really can't wait to take the Clio and E36 out on this map. The hills leading down to Castelleto at speed are going to be great fun.

Didn't play it yesterday cause I was on GT6, but I sure am tonight.

That's always a good idea. If you don't like the the demo, you probably wont like the full game. I was quite blown away with how well presented the demo was. In fact I was planning on playing Destiny again last night but got too hooked on the FH2 demo.

Oh I know I'll love the game, I'm just going to play the demo so I can get the free car.
 
Think I'm going digital on this.

Just wish my previous wheels were compatible.
TX reliabilitys are scaring me off that wheel.
 
Loved the Demo last night, can't say enough good things about it except I wish the demo was longer and they gave you more of the map to explore, but from the taste they give you, I can tell this game will be one of my favorites. The physics seem improved over the first game as well, not that they weren't great before but now they lean a tad more to the sim side (provided you turn off the driver's assists). The graphics are simply incredible and the dynamic weather and rain are breathtaking.

From what I can tell the map seems substantially larger than the first game (which was the first game biggest weakness) with a good variety in the terrain. I even saw an airport icon in the northern part of the map, not sure what that's about, maybe it's a fast travel feature. This is definitely a day one purchase for me, a huge improvement over the first game. Even though I preordered the game yesterday and I have the demo to play with, it's going to be a long 12 days waiting for this game.
