That's cool. Dayem.. I gotta find a way to get my gaming paws on an X1... :irked:
My Dad bought a Xbox One the other day and playing the demo I may be commandeering it at some point. But then again I have the PS4 so he can always use that.

13 for us Brits. It's gotta leave here in the first place - albeit on servers - to get to the States and elsewhere lmao.

Love the texture quality and lighting. Definitely looks next gen.

The Wraith isn't official yet right?

What Wraith, you mean the Dodge M4S from the movie Wraith?

This guy decided to do a drive around the demo map in the Bowler, took roughly 8-9mins

For an experiment, I decided to take a S700 Bowler from Horizon 1 and do a lap around the map (excluding Red Rock, Finley Dam and Beaumont as they are only one road in and out) and it came to 12mins and 57seconds. Interesting....

That guy would be me, I founded Xbox Uncut. We're actually recording a podcast later today after I get off work.

Glad you appreciated the video and the time on the Forza Horizon 1 loop is interesting. Seeing the full map compared to the demo makes me think a full loop could end up in the 35+ minute range which would be cool.

really hope this game will have a event builder I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to pull off hour long event.

The dub is of a v8. Even at low revs you can tell the number of cylinders. Listen to the note; a 5/10 cylinder would never make the flat note of the v8
Maybe when it breaks out of the wall, but from :32 on as it's driving on that road, that is faint sound of the V10 around 2,000rpm. The only issue is that its a sound you hear inside the car, not outside and that far away from the camera.

From 0:32 is exactly where I can here that it's not a v10 sound though

How does it feel driving with the controller?
The biggest reason I have stayed with GT since FM4 is the feel of driving with the stick on xbox. Always noticed that it has an almost digital feel where the stick isn't as sensitive as I want it to be. As if it moves from off to on with out the ability to get the subtle feel. Always find myself slightly nudging the stick to try and make a subtle smooth turn. Where as in GT the controller feels perfectly responsive.
I miss TDU 1 and the open world format. This game gets me excited for it. But just know if that hasn't changed I wouldn't play for long.

I've got two controllers for my PS3 - a dual shock 3 and a 3Rd party wired one - and neither feel as good for me with a controller as the Forza series does with the Xbox controller.

I could explain how 5 and H2 feel with the One controller, but if our views are fundamentally skewed then I don't think it'd help lol.

👍

I only find it weird that the Fh2 demo doesn't make use of the rumble triggers.

Perhaps he needs to adjust his deadzones but I like you I preferred the Forza/360 controller combination to GT5/DS3 and the new XBone controller is even better so I guess it's a matter of opinion. GT to me feels like I'm playing in oven gloves for all I can feel of the road.

They could also do with showing the right stick some love and let us pan around the car in chase view. Replays are boring enough as they are without being rooted to a fixed viewpoint.

How do you adjust the deadzone? I feel this could be my issue. Hopefully you guys are understanding how I mean.
With the ps3/4 controllers I always feel I'm able to go from 0 - 10 and any bit in between.
Xbox controller always feels like there is no inbetween 0 and 1. Almost skips to 2... if you will (that digital feel I mentioned)

ps3. 0,1,2,3...
xbox 0, 2,3...

Just always feel i'm missing that fine tune adjustment. Always left it up to the cheaper feel for me compared to sony.

These are just screen captures they are not photomode pics.
If those are screen grabs, then photo mode must be epic.

In other news, I did it. I just purchased Horizon 2 Big Dick Tank of Hot Air and Nothing Day One Ultimate Edition. Rather frustrating that the game is downloading right now, but I can't play it until the 30th.

Thought there wasn't a ultimate edition for fh2.

Yup, there are three different versions. Day One, Deluxe (Day One + VIP Pack) and Ultimate (Day One + VIP Pack + Car Pass).

I can't get the Ultimate or Deluxe editions at brick-and-mortar stores here (yay New Zealand not getting anything), so I've pre-ordered the Day One edition and I'll just buy the Car Pass and VIP Pack when I get the game. Less downloading time, too.

Oven gloves?? :lol::lol::lol:

Friend, all you need to do is set your deadzone to zero inside (all) and max/100% outside (all). This will give you the desired control over the analog stick. Also try turning off motion effects in FM4. I know it has nothing to do with physics or control, but just give it a try.

I come from a GT background so to speak, and Forza's control is far more realistic and spot on. Just my opinion. Try out those deadzone settings and practice extra finesse. It'll take getting used to, but well worth it.

My my.... I can practically taste those shots. They are downright ridiculous mayeennnn! :dopey::dopey:

Or you could always FedEx your X1 to me for the time being. :D

Not sure if you guys have read this, it was new to me:

"In fact, when you 'complete the game' - and I use air quotes there - when you become the champion, you've seen the credits... you're 15-18% into the game. What's great is at that point a new feature is introduced. So you're like 12-15 hours into the game and we actually change it then so that you're in charge of the Road Trip, this big event that happens. Suddenly you choose where it goes, you choose the next destination, and from there there's still so much content, so much more to find and explore."
[...]
"And even once you complete all the content available on disc, Playground has plans to "expand the experience" by way of future DLC."

"Expand the experience" sounds to me like a map addon, maybe the Swiss Alps? :D
So there is going to be a lot of content, which was my major complaint with Horizon 1, there was nothing left to do in single player after you became champ.

Hoping it is actually a Map expansion rather than some 1000 club thing

H2 looks all set to be an epic title, no doubt.

I can't help but wonder how they've done the particle effects this time around. How are the smoke/dirt trails and effects? Exhaust pop look any better? I know it's silly to ask about the little things, but to me they DO matter somewhat. :D

What about the headlight beams; are they still projected almost 180 degs and exactly the same way for EVERY car?

Ah..questions questions...
