YUS!!!! F-Type!!

LOOK AT IT!!! I know that everyone knows what the F-Type looks like, but you can never have enough F-Type.

It is indeed a thing of beauty. Really stands out. And it IS very British... I simply love it for that!

@Oso Actual -- As someone who drives exclusively from cockpit view in other games, for FH1 and FH2 I use chase cam most of the time. The handling and camera movement are a pretty good match for each other (not always the case), and it's helpful to watch cars on your tail, but most important of all, the taller vantage point makes it easier to watch for traffic and blind turns as you zoom along undulating roads at 150mph.

The chase came in GA and Horizon actually made me a believer. And it did prove to be very useful where you're getting used to a track layout in the former or trying to weave in and out of traffic during those really fast, really tough races.. they do get annoying.. they just pop in front of you and stick to you like magnets unless you brake and yank the steering either way.

It's a good view to drive from, lets you view the car and all, that makes it fun. And the sense of speed is actually quite good.

No wonder classic arcade games like Chase HQ and Outrun used chase cam by default.

Although, given today's driving games and sims, if I had to chose one, it would either be the hood or bumper cam, mostly because steering wheel animation is so bizarre in most games.

As for Forza games, I've actually started avoiding the bumper cam altogether as it stretches the perspective out of proportion at higher speeds and just doesn't look right to me: sits too damn high.
It actually sits at the same default height for every car and on the really low exotics, you can easily tell how it sits higher than the hood view. Seems to me like a cam that was taped to the front windscreen around the rear view mirror area or even on the roof.
I should not be able to see the trunk and roof of a Skyline as I'm overtaking it in a Mclaren.

I don't think they've addressed this in Horizon 2 or FM5. Oh well, can't have it all. Most people probably don't need it, or don't mind it enough to have gripes with it.

GAS and Dirt 3 have perfect bumper views. Low to the tarmac with respect to your car.. and you see the tailpipes and tail lights mostly of other cars as you overtake. That's a proper bumper cam.

Forza should call theirs in-between cam or hood cam 2 maybe.

This is pretty bad really, the game even says it has downloadable content on the back of the box.
I agree, but there really isn't much I can do about it other than wait until I can afford a Xbox One.

It's basically my experience with the original Test Drive Unlimited all over again, I played the PS2 version long before the 360 version and I was fine with it since it still had a bunch of decent cars to mess with. I then just played the 360 version when I got my first xbox 360.

@RandomCarGuy17

The X360 is still a great console. Make sure you own all the classics. We're getting games for another 2 years or so. Don't compare them to X1 games though.

After the end of 2015 we really should start to see the true capabilities of the X1. FM6 and Horizon 3 should showcase just that. A GOW game would be nice too, though I don't think it's planned at the moment.

What games you playing on the 360 ATM?

Yup, it was confirmed on the Forza Motorsport website forums that the 360 definately is not ever going to get DLC nor Forza Rewards. I wasn't 100% sure, but now I am.

You know, I enjoy the 360 version of Horizon 2, despite it being the "inferior" version and having some questionable gameplay decisions such as One players getting better wristbands sooner than 360 players. After playing Horizon 1 consistently over the past two years, I was just happy to have a new, bigger map to drive around in. But this just breaks the camel's back for me. What a blatant attempt at making the Xbox One version look better. They're trying way too hard to get people buy it.

Did they really think this was a smart idea? The Xbox 360 is far from dead, as the One is only 11 months old. They still have a strong user base on the 360, so shafting them like this was a bad move on their part. Ending Forza on the 360 like this is just going to leave a bad taste in people's mouths and will make them less likely to get a Xbox One in the future.

After hearing the recent news that current Fanatec wheels have a good chance at being compatible with the Xbox One, I eventually wanted to get the system so I can get the better Horizon 2 experience. But I'm starting to have second thoughts now. I hope these business practices aren't a sign of things to come because otherwise, there's a very low chance of me ever getting an Xbox One.

A shame that the last Forza game on the 360 is getting treated like this.

If the 360 is like the ps2 you'll still be seeing games for the next 5 years.

But let's be honest current gen is where it's at. I hope all that don't have it currently will do very soon

While free-roaming last night with @dice1998 and @Terronium-12 I got a pop up for my fourth barn find, the 288 GTO. Man that thing was so hard to find! it was so frustrating. These things are way harder then it was the last game, because of how much open space there is now.

They really need to implement a photomode for online. I know you cant pause online, but maybe they can just leave your car flying down the road as your in the photomode menu

I've been stuck on the GTR big air challenge too.
That one is so easy I used it to cheat my way through a few skill point levels you just find ramps that are back to back and then drive forward and then reverse back over them.

It's easy when you know how like most things. I looked around and the ramps are a fair way from your starting point. Kinda stopped it being an absolute no brainer like most of Bucket List #1 so the advice from other posters was handy. If I need to do it twice it'll be really easy next time.

I also had a bit of trouble with the Ford RS200 golf course level but once I had a couple of skill chain perks under my belt it was real easy. I guess I'm more of a racer than a drifter.

From your thoughts, I'm guessing the 360 version of Horizon 2 isn't quite as good as the first one. The first one is absolutely brilliant, with noticeably better engine sound sampling and recording, great ambient sounds, very good open road physics, and graphics + lighting to boot. Especially the slightly improved suspension physics (rebound modeling).

MS will always be MS. They have to find a way to screw customers somewhere somehow. There SHOULD have been a FM5 on X360. And handing off the game to a dev like Sumo Digital whom I've never ever heard of in the world of racing games, was plain disrespectful. PG did a phenomenal job on the 360, and I was disappointed form the very start to know another dev was doing the X360 version.

I'm sticking to my X360, its a super duper console. Highly memorable gaming years, these past few. Got a major back log to get through, so that'll keep me busy for quite a while. In no hurry to get an X1. Irrespective of what the specs and reviews say, it is not all that powerful compared to the 360. Certainly not the jump we saw between Xbox and Xbox 360. Even though FM5 and Horizon 2 are great lookers, you can tell compromises were made. Won't get into that in a lot of detail though.

Like I said, 360 is a perfectly good console, and has got a good few years left in it. If you want more power, you can always settle for a PC, or a PS4. I'm not quite convinced an X1 can keep up with either one of these.

If the 360 is like the ps2 you'll still be seeing games for the next 5 years.

Hard to say, haven't played H2 on the 360 yet, but already people are complaining SD couldn't live up to or simply didn't live up to PG's standards. It makes good business sense to not give as much attention to an inferior version, but come on. Not even as good as the original Horizon?

I actually can't afford a current-gen box ATM. I'll wait it out a bit longer though. FM6 will really tell if the X1 is for me or not. I want to enjoy games beyond just Forza, and that's where the PS4 comes in.

I agree about that, I feel that it was a jerkish move to hold 360 players from getting Forza reward benefits with their version of Horizon 2 and let all of the xbone players have everything. Though, I still think the 360 version is a great game on its own as well. I still have a lot to do even though I completed the tournament such as building up my car collection, finishing the other race divisions, and etc.

Anyway yeah, I kinda figured this would happen once microsoft brought out their new Xbox. I knew they would take some tactics to lead players into getting their new console.

It indeed is still a great console, I still have a few games I want to try out. I expect personally the x360 to last a bit longer than 2 years, it feels to me like what the PS2 was a few years back.

Anyway, I'm just play mostly racing games on my 360; I'm right now still playing through FH2, but I every so often go back to FM4 for a few hotlaps in some of my favorite cars. There's also Project Gotham Racing 3 & 4 that keep me entertained.

If the 360 is like the ps2 you'll still be seeing games for the next 5 years.

I will move onto new gen this fall most likely; my plan for a while was to get a PS4 around November and then buy a Xbox 1 sometime in the spring or summer.

Whilst 360 owners might feel put out by this, as an Xbox One owner who paid a fair bit of money on it, I'm fully in favour of the new console getting the better treatment. They didn't have to release anything for the 360 and you should be thankful a first party game came out a year into their new console's lifetime.

Has anybody been able to get the DLC yet?

There's a Nissan GT-R (I think) bucket list item marked "Medium" in the Zona Industriale section of Montellino. It requires you to log twenty air skills but I can only see one ramp (not counting the exit ramp which takes you out of the zone). Is the idea to just go around in a circle and jump off the same ramp? If that's their idea of a medium challenge I'm running away from the hard buckets as hard as I can and will die unfulfilled. :D

Talking of air there's an XP board in the aerodrome which is parked on top of a bunch of immovable crates. How do you get up there to smash the board? :banghead:
Get in GT-R. Drive straight up the ramp and through the hole in the wall. Veer right and go through the open warehouse. Collect kangaroo points. Drift right and loop back. Get more kangaroo points. Race back to starting point. Repeat.

To be honest, the GT-R Bucket List challenge at the Zona Industriale was quite easy IMO. I just went utterly bonkers with the vehicle and won that challenge in little time.

Nope not yet. Hopefully just teething issue.

And this just after I buy VIP + car pass haha
I don't think it's anything to do with teething issues but rather players impatience now admittedly I didn't have FM5 when the DLC was still being released but with FM4 and FH1 DLC came out around the middle of the day US time.

What time is it there now then?

And if Microsoft truly wanted to coerce gamers into buying an X1, they wouldn't have created an 360 version to begin with. Their damned if they do, dammed if they don't.

I can not believe we cant take photos in online free roam. That is indeed a huge disappointment for such a beautiful game.

I believe that both should get as much treatment as possible, but older generations will of course not be able to reach the levels of current gen, hence the reason we upgrade, just as we did 8 years ago with the 360.
