Well, uh... I hope they have different compounds of Vintage Tires specifically because Muscle cars/Vintage cars gain as much of an increase or almost with them in FH4 as they would if they were equipped with Road Tires. (At least from what I recall.)They did not show anything regarding Tires, Though there was a twitter post from a dev about a month ago mentioning some cool new tire stuff.
Soft/Medium/Hard compounds is more of a Motorsport thing, so I see little point in having that in Horizon as Pit stops aren't a thing in Horizon.
I like using the Vintage Racing tires on old Muscle cars in FH4.
One thing I did notice that I have not seen many talk about. There were 4 catigories for Rims, when all previous games had 3.
This is the correct take. There is so much unrealized potential in this series, IMO - it's a real shame they seem uninterested in evolving the game in any sort of substantial way.As for my .2 cents on the Horizon formula, I'll be honest with you: what we have now works, however, it could absolutely take a turn for the better.
I think what they need is some actual competition. It's competitors are basically doing what PG is doing, just on a smaller and cheaper scale, quality wise. This is the correct take. Thank you.Arid Hills
The TDU3 cinematic trailer honestly screamed Forza Horizon to me. The nightclub(?) looking like some festival, and the "Solar Hotal" which act as some sort of hub where players will primarily live. Even TC2 changed its concept into that of FH.I think what they need is some actual competition. It's competitors are basically doing what PG is doing, just on a smaller and cheaper scale, quality wise.
I think this is critical. The Crew doesn't hit enough points to qualify into the discussion in my opinion. Yes, it does things better than Horizon (car customization, first and foremost) but it's hardly a blip on the radar because it lacks comparative quality. Solar Crown can put pressure on Horizon as TDU already does several things better than Horizon ever has, but the problem is it looks like KT is mucking around with the formula a little too much. Granted, it is their first go with the franchise so it's to be expected, but it's the one game that can.I think what they need is some actual competition. How dare PG force us to need to drive a bit in an open world free roam car game. Such blasphemy!![]()
at least forza has better fast travel than nfs heat. sucks that u cant fast travel to any specific race. have to fast travel to the closest safe house...
If you pointed at a spot and the game said "oh yeah, we can relocate you there", and then not actually do that, that's a bit of an oversight, don't you think?
I'm not that curious. People love to point out that PG like to play it safe instead of shaking up the established formula and I don't see them messing with success as far as these add-on packs are concerned either.I’m curious if they’re going to keep the expansion pack formula of one semi-realistic expansion (Storm Island, Blizzard Mountain, Fortune Island) and one unrealistic but very fun expansion (Hot Wheels, Lego Valley). I hope so. I think it’s a great formula.
Pretty much the same thing happened with the Forza Motorsport franchise though. A few titles in and they really stopped actually advancing things much outside some physics tweaks, graphics and updated car lists and it ended up feeling like lost potential as it grew really stagnant. Even FM7 doesn't offer some features that many PS2 racing games had.As for my .2 cents on the Horizon formula, I'll be honest with you: what we have now works, however, it could absolutely take a turn for the better. I do not understand how, 15 years later, TDU still does things better than any other open world racing game. Car-specific HUD clusters, discoverable dealerships, houses with an actual purpose (Horizon is closing in on this, and The Crew kinda-sorta misses the ball here but is better than Horizon), and clothing.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't feel like there is a lot of competition going on in racing games right now in general. FM8 might change it based on the info coming out of the beta testing, but it hasn't felt like GT and FM have cared what the other was doing for years now. A lot titles feel like they just crutch on their name value and/or whatever their exclusive deal is with whatever series/manufacturer.I think what they need is some actual competition. It's competitors are basically doing what PG is doing, just on a smaller and cheaper scale, quality wise.
Barbie expansion pack, everyone in a pink C4 corvette, LETS GO!I'm not that curious. People love to point out that PG like to play it safe instead of shaking up the established formula and I don't see them messing with success as far as these add-on packs are concerned either.
I guess all that's left to do now is find an established toy brand to hang expansion no. 2 off of. Potato Head Racing, anyone?
I’d love the return of a certain famous pink Honda S2000 TBH. ☺️Barbie expansion pack, everyone in a pink C4 corvette, LETS GO!
Don’t think I wouldn’t race the hell out of that.Barbie expansion pack, everyone in a pink C4 corvette, LETS GO!
Chances are the game is completely capable of that, but it comes down to a QA decision. What happens if you park up in a tiny space that the Peel barely fits into, then change into a Unimog for instance? There are quite a lot of implications of changing car on the spot that can break things, so chances are it was discarded entirely. What the game is most likely doing as part of the loading screen is scanning the road for the nearest safe "node" where it knows your new vehicle will fit, then putting you down there. What I'd like to see if the game spawning you in the exact spot you changed cars rather than spawning you to the closest road.
I would like to see something the opposite of that, call it Car Varieties. Give a bonus of XP or Credits for winning the first few races in a car you haven't driven yet. I want more incentive to get into cars I have yet to try instead of being pushed to use the same few cars all the time. What do you think about Car Masteries?
IMHO, they were half beaked in FH4 and made use of 99% cars not worth it if you care about general progression.
Maybe daily multiplayer for money, exp and skillpoints for first win with car, like in WoT? It was a great stimulation to try other vehicles in garage.I would like to see something the opposite of that, call it Car Varieties. If they r doing a biweekly schedule then it should be next week on the 23rd same week as gamescon. Prob be the time when they will announce the cover car. Doing it at games con or prior just seems to make sense.Any word on when the next LET'S GO!!! episode will be?
Probably after Gamescom. Gamescom is happening in about 9 days time.Any word on when the next LET'S GO!!! episode will be?
Or at PAX a couple weeks later, which takes place in Microsoft's home town?If they r doing a biweekly schedule then it should be next week on the 23rd same week as gamescon. Prob be the time when they will announce the cover car. Doing it at games con or prior just seems to make sense.
