I was doing this all the way back in Forza Motorsport 4, in fact. The Buick GNX couldn't make use of a 6 speed at all, but it could handle 5 just fine so I made 6th a "dead gear" in that manner. The only problem is that with an automatic transmission the game still shifts up into those gears and then gets really confused about what to do and when to shift back down out of them, which limits its usefulness for sharing tuning setups publicly. There's technically a way around this. In FH3 & 4, you can take a racing transmission and tune the ratios so that the last 2 gears have the same ratio as 4th, effectively creating a 4 speed by making 5th & 6th redundant. You then adjust 1-4 and the Final Drive as you desire (IIRC, decreasing 4th also automatically decreases the ratios for 5th & 6th). I remember turning the Dodge Dart HE from FH3 into a 3-speed because it was the only way to make it useful. Even with the new transmission options, I doubt PG would do away with this in FH5.
That being said, a proper 4 speed racing gearbox would still be welcome.
Well, we got Ford Super Duty.
And it seems to have resulted in adding this car's engine to some car's engine swap as well.
In other words, we can build a diesel-powered muscle car! Holy crap!
103.39 gb on xb series xI just got an update for the game preload. It's 114 Gb on XBoneS. The hype is real. Now I only hope the day one patch won't be 30 Gb.. Let's go!!
I was just thinking that I would want to do something like this after seeing that diesel engine swaps were a thing, and wouldn't ya know it they went and beat me to it!
And just in case you want to see it in action for yourself.I was just thinking that I would want to do something like this after seeing that diesel engine swaps were a thing, and wouldn't ya know it they went and beat me to it!
Any other day one surprises in there? Perhaps some of the files for the first car pass cars? From the preload files I can confirm that, at least on day one, there’s no Alfa Romeo/Fiat/etc.
Nothing that jumps out to me, but of course reading 500+ similar lines makes things blend in a bit.Any other day one surprises in there? Perhaps some of the files for the first car pass cars?

Sounds like it. Nothing to say they can’t come back like Mitsubishi or Toyota though. So issues trying to wrangle up the rights to Stellantis brands then?
There also could be a day 1 patch containing additional cars. I think it's a bit early to count them out yet.Sounds like it. Nothing to say they can’t come back like Mitsubishi or Toyota though.
Yeah I'm just going to go ahead an assume they're not in Day One, especially if they aren't here now.Nothing that jumps out to me, but of course reading 500+ similar lines makes things blend in a bit.
Of course the lack of apparent car pass files could suggest we’ll see things added in a day one patch, but there’s nothing concrete to suggest that.
Probably. I imagine dealing with a company that's managing... what is it now, 10 marques? In any case, a company that monolithic has to be a huge pain to coordinate with, even with the toothiest of legal pirahnas on your side.So issues trying to wrangle up the rights to Stellantis brands then?
Files for customisation have generic names (e.g. bumperf_a, bumperf_race), so they can’t be checked from that alone.Yeah I'm just going to go ahead an assume they're not in Day One, especially if they aren't here now.
I don't know if you can look in the customization/upgrade files of cars yet but I'm also going to assume Rocket Bunny are gone too. Licensing is forever a bitch.

Of course if you want to fancy a conspiracy theory, it is possible another game company got some exclusivity deals that are causing the issues. It can't be ruled out entirely, after all.
I would think that if Stellantis pulled out we would have lost all of their brands. Similar to how we lost Toyota and Lexus.I just think it's really weird to showcase the Lancia Stratos in a sound comparison video on the official YouTube channel if there was some inkling of licensing going south. Surely by that point PG/T10 & MS would know that maybe Stellantis were going to be an issue with regards to Lancia, Alfa, Fiat and Abarth. So then why risk it and show off a Stratos and have the Creative Director call it out by name? Just use another car in that case, rather than risk it and end up in a situation like we are in now, where we just assume these brands are going to be in.
Unless Stellantis have pulled out last minute, which could make a little more sense of the situation. But still very odd what has transpired here.
Exactly. We still have Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Maserati and Vauxhall, for example, all of which are Stellantis brands. If there is a licensing issue, it's with FCA Italy, whose brands are Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Lancia (well, well).I would think that if Stellantis pulled out we would have lost all of their brands.
What about that Huracan Evo (or not?) mystery car? Nothing on that or any new discoveries, for that matter?Nothing that jumps out to me, but of course reading 500+ similar lines makes things blend in a bit.
I thought the Huracan Evo was debunked to just be the new Duke Dynamics Body Kit available for the 2014 Huracan.Exactly. As far as I know, it wasn't. Watch this video (from 11:20) where the normal Huracan is customized. You will see him applying both the Liberty Walk and the Duke Dynamics kits to the car. They do not match that front end from the green car.I thought the Huracan Evo was debunked to just be the new Duke Dynamics Body Kit available for the 2014 Huracan.
Oh, I doubt it was that as well. If it were marques that were widely appealing to the general audience like BMW or Ferrari then I would consider it more, but as it is Alfa is probably the only missing name that would be trending with Joe Average Gamer in the last couple years. I just felt like stirring the pot a bit, and to be honest stranger things have happened.I seriously doubt that is the case. It was pretty clear from the jump that Polyphony had temporary exclusive rights to Toyota considering everyone, from NFS to Forza, was suddenly dropping a company that for the most part, didn't care where their cars were, just that they were there. It's pretty clear the Stellantis merger is the main culprit - but I don't think PG/T10 is entirely innocent or blameless in this case.
This is a very good point. Stellantis is so large it no doubt has seperate legal and marketing divisions for each of the different regions it operates in now, and each would have to be dealt with individually. Some likely have very different priorities depending on where they stand in the parent organization's hierarchy as well.Exactly. We still have Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Maserati and Vauxhall, for example, all of which are Stellantis brands.
