I dunno, I'm still Team Germany. As important as China is, if Horizon is being released on PlayStation starting with 6, it might be worthwhile to go to a location with pretty much competitive market share between the two consoles. That, and I think Horizon does need a return to form after Mexico's map.
I'm going to assume that they'll likely be looking at the crown jewels of rallying. With Britain already covered, that just leaves, in my mind's eye...
That’s a good point, part of me is afraid that could be true because games as a service always rings some alarm bells within me because there’s the risk we get a stripped down version of the game we love so much, especially content wise, that it loses its soul and that we need to pay for things that were (and should be) part of the main game.
I feel like South Korea is plausible, especially considering FH5 has been getting a ton of Hyundais.
If a new FH is coming in the nearby future it has been in development for years so the location has been set for years as well.
I would think so as well--but it's worth keeping in mind that we haven't seen a South Korean car being added to the game since Modern Horizons. A good chunk of the rest since then have been either German or from German-owned manufacturers--not to mention all those Hyundais have mostly been because of the then-recent success of the N division in motorsports. Factor in the Ioniq 5 N coming to GT7 in its next update and you've got a location that isn't entirely a sure thing yet.
Oh yeah this is also a good point, but... I feel like that would be too ambitious, even for PG. Mexico's problem, to me, isn't that you don't feel a connection to the place, it's that it clearly isn't designed like a Horizon map should be. EventLab would have been successful even if it were introduced in FH4 or earlier, simply because it offers players something you just don't get in any other game besides GTA V--the ability to build your own tracks and challenges. It's like the ultimate expansion on Super7 and the Event Blueprint mechanics from prior games. I'll bet, in the future, EventLab will outright replace those mechanics--you won't be looking at blueprints so much as choosing EventLabs with different goals and mechanics.
