Forza Horizon 5: General Discussion

Analysis question. What classes do you think the Pike cars will be in? I'm torn on the BE-1 being in Retro Hot Hatch or Cult Cars because of the Sera.

I'll bet that they'll all go into Cult Cars, making this pack an update for that category. The Pike Factory, even if it didn't really exist outside of maybe a small design team, is a force in Japanese car culture all on its own, so even if you did want to send them all into their unique categories you might end up confusing new Japanese players who aren't 'in the know' about them, and presumably Western fans who do know and would be perplexed as to why FH isn't acknowledging that shared heritage.

If I had to assign them categories though, here's how I'd place 'em.

Be-1: D 100 Retro Hot Hatch--even though the car is 'technically' a notchback two-door sedan, making it a great fit for Cult Cars anyway 'cause its design wouldn't fit anywhere else
Figaro: ~D 200 Retro Sports Cars
Pao: D 100 Retro Hot Hatch
S-Cargo: ~D 200 Vans and Utility

Spoiler alert: Horizon Realms will feature new cars, so you might want to stick around for a little while longer.

FH5 on PS5 will have PS5 Pro support.

Anyway, new cars:

• 2022 Hennessey Mammoth 6x6
• 2024 Lamborghini Revuelto
• 2023 Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato
• 2018 Lotus Exige Cup 430

And a new car pack with four Nissan kei cars:

• 1991 Nissan Figaro
• 1989 Nissan Pao
• 1989 Nissan S-Cargo
• 1987 Nissan Be-1

I agree that linking unlocks to Skill Score in the Realms seems a bit err unimaginative? and doesn't really seem to add a lot of long term playability.

Oh, I know @pclark06 didn't ask for this bit too, but as for the Realms cars themselves, I'll take my best crack at placing those into categories too. Pictures for conveinence's sake:

2024 Lamborghini Revuelto: ~S1 890 Hypercars OR ~S2 900 Hypercars (I'm gonna be honest, PHEV assisted AWD aside this doesn't vibe with me as anything other than a cooler version of the Aventador Ultimae available in the Backstage Pass. Maybe if this car gets better handling or 10/10 Acceleration it could crack S2, which would be awesome, but I just kinda see it hangin' around the Aventador PI-wise.)
2023 Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato: ~S1 810 Rally Monsters (Everything I've dug up so far seems to point to this thing being higher-performance than its VAG stablemate, the 911 Daka--sorry, 911 Rallye--is. Having an Italian V10 helps, of course, but it sounds like this thing is far less tame than the Rallye, fitting since Lambo never entered anything into rallying or off-road racing in general and allegedly just made it because they could. Hence, I've given this thing the edge over the Rallye.)
2018 Lotus Exige Cup 430: ~A 770 Track Toys (There IS a case to be made for this thing being in Modern Sports Cars with the 2012 Exige, but considering how much more tuned this thing is than that Exige, even in comparison to other "sidegrade of existing car" victims like the RZ34 Nismo and Challenger Super Stock, I'll bet it goes right into A-class Track Toys to be a PI rival to the Lexus RC F and XKR-S GT, if one that wins on cornering and handling over top speed.)
2022 Hennessey Mammoth (Dodge Ram 6x6) ~A 730 Pickups and 4x4s (Because we didn't need any more Pickup and 4x4s in Horizon's line-up. At least these have been all A-class since the Saleen Sportruck dropped, but an electronically limited 130 MPH/~210 km/h top speed does give it a major downgrade in comparison to the Sportruck, in my opinion the king of that category. Hell you could even make an argument for it going into B-class since it's a 6x6 and not a 4x4 like the others are meaning it won't have nearly the same handling characteristics. Jury's out on that one though, we'll have to see when it drops.)

I think it's just right. We will have all the road going versions of the car minus the LP580 which lets be honest we dont need that, the sole offroad version thats been long overdue and at least 1 race version. Can't ask for more really

It’s not too bad when you consider that the Huracan competed with the 458, 488, F8 and even 296 during its life.

It always makes me smile that Revuelto in Spanish means scrambled, as in eggs. And Mexican scrambled eggs are the best in the world.

I think its fair enough having so many Huracan variants, considering how long-lasting the car's been. Also on the bright side, at least each model is fairly different to the last, except maybe the Evo

It's the same sorta reason we have pretty much every major Corvette and Mustang variant short of the Mustang GTD and C8 ZR1, yeah. Horizon likes to celebrate the legacy of long-lasting car models if it can--which honestly makes it hilarious that we never got the post-facelift Nissan R35 GT7 has despite that car's lineage meeting a lot of the criteria for 'long-lasting cars'.

Ccompletely agree. They could have easily put the Huracan Technica in FM which would have fit far better than that stupid spyder. Still makes me mad that they wasted a car space for that next to the Artura.

I think its because the Evo was technically DLC in FH5, so itd be kinda undermining the DLC to just add it for free. Which honestly makes it even more odd that it was added in the first place

Well, the 2020 TT RS was added as a free playlist car when the 2018 TT RS was a DLC car in the car pass, so it doesn’t seem like that would be a reason not to add the Spyder.

However this idea sort of commits harakiri to itself as Turn Ten and Playground sometimes remove the lower and older-trim models in succeeding games.

On the topic of the unfathomably broken playlist, current advice is to do all the events you can and you'll get the points when it's fixed - except the Treasure Hunt which will take a bit longer to fix.

Which is mad, as there's a solid chance people won't have been doing the playlist because it's broken, so have about a day's notice to complete everything (you can track what you've done on the map) or miss out.

Honestly, it's as if they thought it would be as easy as simply reenabling the Playlist and changing the PR stunt and Treasure Hunt criteria. They were reliant on being done as-is, in the moment of their addition, but changing that stuff around must have broke something deep down.

I think everyone has been gifted last week's Reward car plus a Backstage Pass, as compensation for the buggy mess. At least, I got them when I played the game earlier.

This week's playlist is also bugged, as of earlier this evening...

It actually did, it just broke everything even more (at least for PC users), so it's been rolled back again with another hotfix. If you downloaded and played the first hotfix it will have fixed your Summer except the Treasure Hunt, but if you didn't get to it until the second one then it won't have.

For me, my 100% streak from Day 1 has now been broken. I did everything in Summer, but I'm stuck at 31/70pt. As with everyone else, my Autumn is also goosed in the same way: PR Stunts, Daily/Weekly/Monthly, and Challenges award points but that's it.

Still, very important for anyone that is a gamer.

I still play Nintendo. Only machine of theirs I haven't owned are Virtual Boy and Wii U. The SNES is still one of my app time favourite machines.......it still has the best power switch on a console ever. Such a satisfying clunk for on and off.

I kinda stopped buying their consoles when the Wii turned out to be the Gamecube in a different box with wiggly sticks attached. 2000s-era Mikey would've loved the Switch for his daily commute though. Maybe when Switch 2 OLED comes out I might get back on the bandwagon, although I figure I'd likely be plugging it into an OLED TV most days anyway so the onboard display quality is probably moot.

The SNES is still one of my app time favourite machines.......it still has the best power switch on a console ever. Such a satisfying clunk for on and off.

Regrettably I ended up ditching my PAL SNES for an NTSC model in order to play grey import JRPGs that were never released in Europe. I don't recall the US power switch being quite as clunk-clicky.
