Hey up team. I'm really struggling on this week's Trail Blazer (B700 Volkswagen in Guanajuato).

Anyone got any good tips/tunes that could help please?

I used one of the Golf Rs with a B 700 tune. Get a decent run around the corner before the start gate up the steps, don’t hit anything and you can just about scrape under the time. It’s just 2 slowish corners so find a car with very good acceleration.

Wouldn't be surprised if there's something like that in playlists or accolades, but its not mandatory thing to make mtx feel scamy.

Its, at least, looks possible(43.55 with homebrew build). Mitsubishi speedtrap seems near impossible to do

Cheers bud. By the way the Mitsubishi speed trap is possible. Try the following tune, it's not mine but one I found that works well:

The trick is to start on the open grass land to the west of the trap. This lets you carry a lot more speed downhill into the trap than if you were to stick to the road and take the bend.

Feel free to point out where it is. I love how people wish for all the content in the game to be obtained really quickly, then others bash the game for being shallow and depthless. As for "mtx":

There are no microtransactions in Forza Horizon 5; just like there have not been any in any Forza game since the lootbox fiasco blew up in Turn 10's face way back in Forza 7 (amusingly just a few days before PD made it clear they were lying about whether microtransactions would be in GT Sport). Whether you "agree" or not has no bearing on that fact. Money spent on the game above and beyond the base price adds new content to the game (even the VIP Pass). Additional post-launch DLC, nevermind two full-blown expansion packs, are not "microtransactions." They're not designed the same way. They're not implemented into games the same way. They're not targeted at the same people. They do not provide the same utility to the player. They both predate the concept of cosmetics microtransactions (where Bethesda's infamous horse armor is the go-to reference for such a thing with modern games) by a solid decade and pay to win microtransactions (whose common implementation nowadays can probably be most directly traced to either Team Fortress 2 or Gran Turismo 5 depending on implementation) by even more.

For reference: They added those autoshow car purchase vouchers years after launch. So those of us who played since day 1 regard them as completely pointless.

I think the only reason PG added them was to allow new players to collect the really expensive cars without needing to save millions of credits. But you can comfortably play the game without using a single voucher, and collect every autoshow car in the game.

Not to be a Negative Nancy, but I also think Microsoft mandated it since FH5 is one of their few evergreen titles that was still seeing active engagement years later, despite not really being in the same mould as ‘proper’ live service games. I honestly doubt PG would’ve wanted to put them in there; they’ve never pushed them outside of announcing them being available, and as you say, the game throws the vast majority of the expensive stuff at you anyway, so I feel like it was something decided on from above to meet their demands.

But I've never met anyone on here (besides @inCloud, lol) who thinks the game has forced them into spending money they didn't have on things they didn't want. I think he's inventing reasons to be pissed at the game because it's not like his favourite The Crew.

Car vouchers are completely superfluous to progressing in and enjoying the game so pretending it's been designed as some kind of gacha scam is completely whacked. The only time I ever used one was on that 35 mil Shelby I could've picked up in the Auction House for cheaper. And they gave me that car voucher for free. This game bombards you with credits, cars and wheelspins as a consequence of normal play. It's not like they haven't thrown a bunch of content at us on which I didn't have to spend a single penny over the purchase price either.

There really is no reason to spend money in game in FH5.

The only gripe I have with FH5 is that the game does give you everything too easily, it has done so since launch.

The vouchers are an option for people who want things instantly. MS knows these people exist and are just catering to that part of the market (as any sensible company would do). Anyone playing the game normally and enjoying it will soon accumulate plenty of cars and enough credits to get anything they need/want in game.

I will admit that I didn't know that they added vouchers to FH5 because I bounced off of it almost immediately after launch, refunded it and went back to 4.

iirc chance you to get more money and cars are higher if you have clothes unlocked in fh5. unlike fh4, even you have that clothes it's still in the wheelspins

Early release of FH5 would be super nice with it's wheelspins. Minimum prize was 10-15k and they'd give you 100k-150k often. Unfortunately the Wheelspin system was abused and they (Probably Microsoft and not T10) nerfed it.

I do recall at 3 prestige stars I'd get far more often nice wheelspin prizes more often, I'd get cars worth a lot more often and higher credit prizes.

People say there's no benefit to levelling up the prestige tiers but I've seen some nice improvements from levelling up. At 0 and 1 prestiges I'd barely get anything ever nice, at 2 it was rare but at 3 it was a lot more frequent.

Well, I am more of a Horizon fanboy according to my playtimes, which doesnt mean I would lie that Horizon 5 doesnt have MTX. It does. Its sucks.

It would be a gacha scam if you paid $ for a pack of X number of wheelspins. The fact is you don't, you earn wheelspins simply by leveling in-game or finishing an activity in the weekly playlists that specifically give a wheelspin as a prize.

I earned three most expensive cars in the game by: finding its barn (Ferrari 250), just playing (Shelby Daytona) and burning my free car voucher (Aston DBR1) which by the way is everlasting. Should you erase your data, the game will remember and recover the car for you.

If I just drive around and doing the playlist or whatever, how is it grinding? I've probably piled up to 50+ wheelspins/super wheelspins (and thousands of Forza Points), and I don't really care to spend them or not. And the stats say that I've earned hundreds of millions of credits too, I probably have 3-5 million in my pocket at any time.

Given that the WRC License between Codemasters/EA Sports has been put on hold, I hope that FH5 (if PGG keeps life support on) or FH6 would expand the WRC grid (we already got the 206 WRC kit in FH1 and the SX4 WRC in FM4).

I would also hope some Codemasters refugees are picked up by Playground Games or Turn 10. I don't think more content will come to FH5.

I've already did that... that's why my license plate reads NEWSTART. Outside of the playlist you can do the stories and get XP, and do drifting zones, speed zones, speed traps, all types of races, you can play blueprints, etc. All of these levels you up quickly = wheelspin/Forza Points/credits.

I'm not sure if you can complain about grinding while ignoring the main way that the game provides cars and rewards to the player.

It's like saying that Gran Turismo 4 is unplayably grindy if the player deliberately avoids using or selling any prize cars - you'd have to win all of the Sunday Cup races five times over to buy an S15 Silvia to use in the Clubman Cup.

Can attest to this. In fact, one of the early "tips" at launch was to buyout all the clothes and horns in the shop so that the wheelspins would fill up with cars and credits instead.

You need to follow whole discussion to understand that.

We started with false take that Horizon doesn't have microtransactions, then that Horizon doesn't have gatcha mechanics and then how they tied to mtx.

My point was that, while Horizon 5 isn't designed around mtx, it designed around gatcha mechanics which are dangerous by itself as they trick with you biochemistry. And there are two ways to get around it - grind or buy vouchers.

The wheelspins hardly mean much anymore since they nerfed them. You spend just as much time getting clothes, common cars, & insignificant payouts compared to the days where if you weren't getting a car, you were pretty well destined to get a 6-figure reward instead.

I started the game when it was released originally. I'm a regular player, logging in at least 3 to 4 times a week real life allowing. I own 900 individual cars, have 100's of wheel spins and 100's of super wheel spins banked and 999,999,999 credits.

I've always completed a playlist to the best of my ability as well. Granted when you start the game new you won't be able to fully complete a playlist. If you could then where would the enjoyment or challenge of collecting the cars come from?

As I've said in a previous post the paid for car vouchers are MS catering for a specific market share in my opinion. They are not pushed on players in any way shape or form apart from minimal advertising, which you would expect for any product.

Wheel spins being described as something that reminds an individual as something like a gacha scam is just humorous I'm afraid. Gacha scams require players to be parted with their own hard earned real life money. Wheel spins are a bonus by product of the player progressing through the game. Yes the spins reward you with cash, cars and clothing but you do not have to grind for these at all.

I get my endorphin release from the act of playing video games themselves. Does this make video games themselves a gacha scam? I ask as I have spent money on a console and the games to acquire my endorphin release.

I'm sorry to have gone on a long rant but I felt I needed to put my point across on this issue. I'm sorry @inCloud but I strongly disagree with you on this.
