Forza Horizon Rally Expansion Pack

$70.00 - $80.00 for all of the DLC, which will include an expanded and somewhat different racing surfaced environment, some extra races, 75 more cars (maybe), and... that's it?
Forza 4's monthly car packs+porsche pack for 1 year were over $100.

Forza 4's monthly car packs+porsche pack for 1 year were over $100.

Not true. The worst case scenario would be to pay maximum price for all 11 monthly DLC and Porsche DLC expansion pack and that puts it at $97.

Thing is that VIP members got discounts on 1 of the monthly DLC as well as the Porsche DLC pack (1200 instead of 1600 MS pts), the season pass saves you 30% on the first 6 of 11 DLC packs, and there were a lot of chances to get ALL the DLC on sale over recent months, including 30-50% off, even on the Porsche DLC. All of this was for mostly new car content for FM4 (many of the Porsches were in FM4 but some were new). Had you held off on discounts and sales, you could very well have paid as low as $49 for all the FM4 DLC

My gripe is that it seems many of the FH DLC is of FM4 cars which should not have been held back just to charge us later. I don't mind new models at all, and don't mind much of new variants of an existing model but tried and true it seems we're going to get FM4 cars as FH DLC, some of which we already paid for via FM4 DLC. That leaves a sour taste in my mouth and I will not bite. The rally expansion though... that however I might even if I think it should have been included in the game because afterall... the game launches 1 day and this rally expansion pack launches about a month after so why was it not part of the game from the get go?????

That is something I think T10/MS should have addressed. The FM series kept incorporating DLC cars into each sequel, so it wasn't a problem, but with the close relationship between this game and FM4 it's a bit off-putting to buy the same DLC cars again.

On the other hand, like browneyedman said, it's a choice, and it was also your choice to buy FM4's DLC. The practical thing to do is decide which is more important to you -- driving these cars on a track, or driving these cars on the open road.

I can see why some of you are upset and I sure don't want to spend all that money after paying $60 for the game alone. I don't understand how most are complaining that this and that car came on FM4 and I have to pay for it again. My thought on this is these are two different games and yes T10 is involved but playground made the game this is not FM4. To say that you can drive the same car in FM4 is true but its not the same game, drive on the track or the street lol. I will just buy the game alone and pick and choose the car I want and wait for expansion packs to go on sale no biggie.

Wow this has turned into three pages of crap....IMO

Its not just T10 doing stuff like this...Look at the COD franchise....everyone is money hungry......I just wish they would sell me a "Single player game" for $40....and buy a "Multi-player" game for $60 that will include all the multi-player goodness..
There are alot of people/kids out there that dont have high speed internet available to them so why should they pay full game price for something they cannot use??....Since we are splitting hairs here

^ LOL look who just contributed to more crap! But I actually agree with your last statement, I rarely play online, and I always saw it as so much wasted time and space for all of this multiplayer stuff. Maybe if I had more time in my life I would be more social.

I like that idea I don't play online either, but it would never happen. Its no different than what cable/dish companies do. I don't speak spanish but I have to pay for those channels in my cable package.

Mass Effect 3 has released 4 or 5 FREE dlc packs for the online 4 player co-op mode. Those FREE packs include maps, characters, guns, updates, upgrades, and an insane amount of content. All Free. Not everyone is money hungry. Even as much as I dont care for EA, I do support free DLC. 👍 And before anyone takes this out of context, I am not bashing any game or developer, but to say everyone is money hungry is not true. There are some developers that release free dlc. ;)

No one is being forced to buy any of the dlc. If you dont like the price of the dlc, dont support it.

So to outline that again:
$60.00 for the base game, which includes lots of cars, large environment, lots of races, physics, tuning, aftermarket parts, storyline, online racing, rivalries, livery editor, and whatever else comes with it. Plenty.

$70.00 - $80.00 for all of the DLC, which will include an expanded and somewhat different racing surfaced environment, some extra races, 75 more cars (maybe), and... that's it?
And this is different from any other developer, how?

Is the value of the DLC really more than the value of the base game? Do you really think this game is going to more-than-double it's content and value with all of the DLC? I know we will have to wait and see what the DLC really is, but I am pretty skeptical that it's going to be the entire Forza Horizon game plus 10% more. I mean, just think about it. You are paying for more than two whole games there.
Some people are fine with that as long as they feel their money was worth paying for it. Not sure why you're continuing to press this particular point when it's all based on each individual's desire to spend the money or not & you've already made it clear a couple posts ago you don't think it is.
If you are totally in love with this game and are buying the DLC no matter how much it costs, then great, why spend the time to comment back with me. I'm sorry if you think I am whining, but I, personally, am tired of T10 taking advantage of myself, as well as you all. The DLC is just not a good value when you look at it in detail.
Probably because you're sitting on your high horse claiming those of us who don't mind spending the money are "loaded" & "like taking it up the rear". We got it the first 5 times you think it's a rip-off, but that doesn't mean you need to bring in the rest of us who will buy the DLC into your post, as if we need you to help us see straight.
And stop telling me that I don't have to buy the DLC. I know I don't have to buy the DLC. I don't need you all to make that clear to me. I know T10 is not holding a gun to my head, making me buy the DLC. I am in complete agreement with you all that if I, personally, don't think the DLC is a good value then I don't have to buy it. Give me a break here people. I just want you to think twice about it before throwing your (or your parent's) hard-earned cash out the window for something that's not worth the price tag. T10 is laughing it all the way to the bank with you people.
And I'm laughing at you acting as some sort of financial savior.

Oh lord, save me $5 so that I may spend it on something else. I'm surprised you're not at GTPlanet preaching what a rip off those DLC packs are worth since they're roughly the same price at a $1/car, too.

It all comes full circle to this simple fact you acknowledge, but continually forget as you repeat your argument; if people feel the content is worth the $5, then it's not a rip off to them & let them be. If you think otherwise, don't buy it as repeated stated & continue on as you were. But, nobody needs you to come in here telling everyone to save $5 or that we liked to be screwed in the ass. That's where you get backlash & scrutiny yourself for not even knowing what the future content will be, but you seem to have a time-machine, so let us all know what's in store instead of constantly repeating yourself.

My apologies, sorry everyone. I wasn't trying to be anyone's financial advisor or savior as has been implied. If I have offended anyone by suggesting that the DLC for this game was of poor value and a rip-off, please do accept my apologies as I was not trying to do so. I was not trying to tell anyone how to spend their own money or that they should not buy the DLC. I was just stating my opinion that I didn't think it was a good value. If I used too many posts to try and express my opinion, sorry about that as well. I was just trying to defend my own opinion.

And this forum is no place for petty one liners implying that you have more sense than money or that you enjoy taking it in the rear. I by no means have suggested that anyone enjoys "taking it in the rear". It's a common saying in today's society that suggests that someone is being taken advantage of. Perhaps I should have just said "taking advantage of" in the first place, but I said what I said and if that upset you personally than please forgive me. Please don't take anything further than a petty comment. There's just no room for that talk in these forums.

So again, sorry if I wasted your time or offended you. Just wanted to be able to give my opinion on the matter. Take from it what you want, good or bad.

Also, don't get on the wrong side of  McLaren. That dude will research you and take you down and make you out to be a moron. So just a heads up. I'm not the only one. My advice would be to never have a negative opinion about anything, don't repeat yourself, and don't ever say anything petty, no matter how minutely petty it may be. He just won't put up with it. Camaroboy knows what I'm talking about. Not trying to upset you McLaren, just letting everyone know.

I'm out, enjoy Forza Horizon everyone.

This was hardly necessary.

Just a word of warning to everyone, continue onward with the thread topic and stay away from remarks such as this. I've enough to do around here without having to worry about people taking pot shots at one another.

Let me repost all of your posts to refresh your memory, & so everyone can continue to see the holier than thou status you preach above us with your continued affirmation that those of not agreeing with you are the following:
I'm happy for you if you don't mind taking it in the rear to have this extra bit of the game, but you are being duped if you think the extra rally expansion pack is worth $80.
Sounds like you are in denial sir.
There really isn't much point in that. Why buy it then? Did you read my other posts? Do you all really think it's worth all this $$$? You must be loaded.

PS, nobody likes a smartelic.

Your opening liner to your post says there's no need for petty one liners, yet you're coming at me like a fat kid who had his chocolate taken away before dinner. What was that directed towards T-12 about nobody liking a smart ass again? Pot meet kettle? Don't throw stones in glass houses?

I'm honored to have yet another keyboard warrior voice his opinion on me. And whatever I made you out to be is of your own doing. 👍

Keyboard warrior?

*Google-fu*

I guess I should have been a little more clear. If the game came with the offload/rally part as a standard, then okay, we are talking about something worth $60. But $80? I'm happy for you if you don't mind taking it in the rear to have this extra bit of the game, but you are being duped if you think the extra rally expansion pack is worth $80. Then on top of that you have to drop another $50 to get the same DLC cars that you have already paid for in FM4. I think FM is a great racing game franchise with lots of great things about it, and I am absolutely a big fan of it, but the DLC gimmicks are ripping you off left and right. Dou you really think this game with all the extra add-ons is going to be worth $150? No way!

Dont forget this one.

I just want to make sure everyone knows I never used any profanity. Quote me all you want and call me all the names you want, but don't change the words I said to something I didn't. Ban me if you want, I don't mind, but I never said anything to the extent that it has been taken to. Again, I apologize. McLaren, you win, honestly, and that's nothing petty. I am serious!

Implied profanity isn't exactly kind, either.

Only thing I'd like to add is that, quite frankly, it's too early to judge FH's DLC as of yet. Whether the Season Pass is good value isn't going to be clear until we know what the Expack contains.

I never implied any profanity. My apologies if it offended you in that way, but it was never ever intended to be profanity, nor did I want you to imply it as profanity. I cannot make any assumptions as to if others will take my comments literally, or if they will take them lightly and informally as intended. I'm not sure there is anything else I can do to make this right, other than apologize and shut up, but if there if there is, let me know what I can do. I take the blame for the underwhelming trend this thread has taken, and I do deserve the treatment I have received.

Let's get back to the topic at hand folks...

Any updates about this rally expansion pack? What's being included? Like what's the details? I haven't read any aside from the initial announcement with more news and details to follow

Thats just it, "more news and details to follow". Till then all we can do is speculate.

• deeper ruts
• higher jumps
• new surface types to explore
• authentic rally action
• rally-tuned cars
• co-driver calls

New surface types to explore sounds interesting. I mean its in a desert how many different types are there?

440 Charger, I recall saying that was enough.

Drop it. Now.
Strong this

Maybe hillclimb in the mountains or snowy/slushy roads.

Seeing that this dlc comes in December, having a winter season would be fun.

Although that's not gonna happen.

Same thing I thought as well. Maybe there could be a new snow surface type in the expension pack. If so, YES! :D

The rally physics in the demo were fantastic so this is more than welcome in my eyes, hopefully some hardcore rally stages will be available to drive on.

Since the article said new cars maybe we can get the following

Lancia 037 Stradale
Mitsubishi Pajero Rally Raid Truck
That weird hatchback Toyota Corolla from the Gran Turismo Games
Ford Escort RS1800

Maybe there will be a bit more of a rocky-type of terrain to drive on, and it will include some more off road truck type vehicles?

Or perhaps a muddy surface type?

I for one would like another free roaming area like the golf course, but down in the sandy desert area, an area sort of like where Tanner Foust tested the Ford SVT Raptor in Top Gear USA.
