Forza Motorsport (2023): The Bugfest Thread

Update. Gaming Services have updated again and I installed it. In a flash, I tried @zacscy 's Administrator account method. Xbox login prompt showed up immediately.

Yes! Finally! Time to race!...

Crash to desktop upon finishing the Cadillac hypercar segment.

This is gonna be a looooooong road but I made progress...
Awesome! Glad that it worked. Just to clarify, did you try to run the game after gamingservices update and it didn't work? Or did you update gamingservices and try the method immediately? Just wondering if the update to gamingservices resolved the issue or if it was necessary to combine updated gamingservices+admin method?

Lot of thin white lines over Suzuka.

Seemed to turn on auto braking for me.

Lights on Logitech G Pro wheel don't look correct.

Xbox SX
Looks like the stitch line linking sections of track. Happens on every track I've looked at. Same thing happened on GT PSP.

Update again...

...hello from Laguna Seca. I've had a couple hours with few issues. Before getting to Laguna Seca, I had a brutal crash to desktop upon completing the Cadillac hypercar segment I mentioned in my previous post. Fortunately, when I restarted the game, it simply let me retry from the same segment - I didn't have to re-do the entire intro or jump back in the Corvette E-Ray.

After that, I spent a while adjusting settings. Benchmarked, graphics settings adjusted, sticking to controller before I jump into the wheel settings.

I've had 11 laps of problem-free driving in Test Drive mode at Laguna Seca in the evening, and given my car choice, I had some big Gran Turismo 2 vibes. (the livery probably gave it away that I love this game)

Switching the event to Circuit Race, however, I immediately encountered an aggravating bug: Steering wouldn't work anymore! I could accelerate, brake, shift, but not turn the wheel. I believe I've seen someone else on the forums explain having this problem. This game has some growing pains to get through, it seems...

I had a bit of a tech support lightbulb moment, so I immediately tried the Administrator Mode method after I updated Gaming Services. Not sure why, I just had a hunch that trying your fix might work now and lo and behold, it did. We're not totally out the woods yet but Forza Motorsport has been promoted to playable. It's something.

Great! Thanks for the clarification and enjoy your drive! 🚗😃👍

Very small but super annoying:

When in practice, you set a fast, clean time, say a 1:30.0 that puts you P3. Then, afterwards, you do a faster but invalid lap - the game will use the new lap as your personal best, and now you're P20 because invalid laps don't count for the standings and the previous, clean lap is just forgotten about.

Super annoying if, like me, you want to use practice as qualifying and determine your grid position from the results.

Two issues:

1 > keep losting the progress on builders cup.
2> Remote Data Not yet available

Edit> , the 2nd is error message, may show up when the game say , event data is not available, need to retrive from server, then it may fail and pop.

Well i have to say i like The game so far gameplay feels allot better The 7 and sounds are great to!

Only thing that Bothers me at this moment is that The Graphics are strange cars dont like as good as Horizon 5, its to blurry whatever i do, performance is bad on PC (Rtx 4080 and 7800x3d @ 4K ) far lower fps then Horizon 5 despite its not looking better. Forza Fista Also looks crap. At horizon 5 it was just pOrn to look it now not so mutch.

So graphics whise its a bid of a **** show and i hope it Will be fixt because i think it can…..

Edit: i dont had any crashes or something so far (Steam)

I had that too when I turned off a certain message in the settings. It's a bug for sure. I turned the message back on and it went away. Sorry can't remember the exact one.
Ah. I'll play around until I find it. I found a lot of the messages really distracting in the intro races so I had gone on a bit of a message killing spree rather than experimenting. Thanks for the tip!

Me too. All the pop-up stuff and you can also kill the pinball machine sounds by turning the HUD Sounds all the way down. I personally like my screen as "sim like" as I can get it. I'll figure how much my car got upgraded after the race.

Definitely not the finished game, graphics are awful on Series X, lots of obvious unfinished bits n bobs.
Is official release day still 10/10?
Lets hope we get a massive update tomorrow.

2011 SUBARU WRX STI
2008 SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STI
2013 Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG
Has broken backlight for steering wheel buttons while you in cockpit view mode.

It's really sad to see that Turn10 is now part of the club that delivers beta software at launch. Graphics issues, constant crashes (Series X), progression loss, ... not to mention the bare contents. Really sad. I wonder why there's no bigger ******** already ongoing, or maybe I'm just missing it? It's playable, sure, but very broken at the same time.

Maybe do a hard restart/shutdown of your Xbox and reinstall the game to see if that fixes your issues of crashing? I have been playing daily for the past week on my Series X, and no crashes or progression loss. Just a guess.

I restarted many times, no effect. A reinstall didn't occur to me, but not sure how much it's going to help. It's an acknowledged bug:

Stability - Game may hang on applying upgrades and does not save career mode progress (1624509)(Date Updated: 10.09.23)

And yes, confirmed, the Koenigsegg Agera RS retains the issues seen in one of the trailer, the carbon fibre effect is missing in the exterior panels, and the exhaust goes to nothing, it's a giant chrome concave thing-y.

Am I missing something or is the crash damage either 0% or 100%? The same thing is also in FM7

Video (FM8)
It's been like that since FM5. A single hard collision will destroy a mechanical part instantly. FM4 was the last known game to have damage that doesn't go straight to 100% with each hit. The Horizon games did it the same way as FM4 did with sim damage, as the car would take damage gradually when driving recklessly.

Bug or something.

Level 10 Volvo 850 @ "D361" trying to enter a C Class Rivals event.

The game couldn't bump it up to C Class automatically, I had to back out to the beginning and Modify it myself.

And what do you know, it hits C Class!

This has been posted already on the official fm.net forums by another user, but I have to share it here, because it's hilarious: installing the roll cage in the 2022 Subaru BRZ results in... This

Who said a full cage is a detriment to visibility?

Subaru's all-new invisibility cloak rollcage. More rigidity, more visibility, so you can go flat-out without a doubt.
