Hehe, yeah :lol: Only things I'll probably be using will be the driving line on an unknown track and auto clutch. I want to get a taste of what the physics are really like.

Oh well, I'd have to get my hands on the game first, I hope I can manage to do so :lol:

After T10 is implementing nearly everything from the GT5 wishlist, we will get Spa and Bathurst as tracks I bet. The internet is a great free source for stealing ideas :dopey:

I don't care if T10 is stealing ideas. If FM4 turns out to be a better Gran Turismo than GT5, that's exactly what I want :lol:

Will it be the Hockenheim Ring, perhaps this Transfargan Road?

While it perhaps means little, Gamescom certainly would be an appropriate place to showcase it. Also wouldnt a game challenge VS "Sabine Schmitz" be cool?

Isnt their meant to be 5 New Tracks in FM4.

Just read "Gears Of War 3" will be Stereoscopic 3DTV capable. Proving that indeed Microsoft have been wanting to update their top franchises to keep in line with Sony.

Didn't Dan announce that lighting methods used in FM4 was partly from "Epic Games" experience? Correct me if I'm wrong. Now I wonder if this joint development in resources and news of GOW3 going Stereoscopic 3D has any bearing on FM4 also offering the option of a lower res mode in Stereoscopic 3DTV as well?

The Transfăgărăşan (i.e., across the Făgăraş mountains) pass would be pretty sweet, but it might be a bit much to ask for...
There are plenty of other roads like it, mind you.

Classic hillclimbs are another thing, like the Klausenrennen and many, many others. It's a big part of motorsport that is largely ignored in games, outside of mods and any generally arcade-y attempts at Touge, of course.

Some can say that both devs copy and steal ideas from each other. It's not just T10, but also PD that do this.

Why didn't PD implement there own fans wish list then.

Can't really blame T10 for stealing the Top gear license.

I think PD's exclusivity to top gear ran out about a month after release. Probably due to overrunning the release date.

That's the only thing I can think of that you can say they stole.

Nothing much else worth stealing from them anyway.

They robbed EA's autolog too. Thank goodness. Great idea.

PD didnt used the license much. The one track and 3 events are nothing against what we will see in FM 4 with Top Gear.

Audi built the first rotory engine and Mazda perfectionized the technology. So you say Mazda stole it from Audi?

Personally I think 3d is a fad and in order to get it to work with current tech the game gets dumbed down. Its resources that can go elsewhere. Im just really anti-3d and I've tried a bit with movies and games without seeing how good it's supposed to be

Your 2D experience is NOT effected grandpa. :ouch:
Research and you will find it is the 3D version that suffers in visual quality/framerates at the expense of the stereoscopic images.

Isnt it best such starts this generation so that the newer gen consoles coming and developers will be able to make really good usage of it in the future?

Technology has to grow and develop just like how even now surround sound is going into the realms of 3D Audio surpassing just surround capabilities but having pinpoint depth and height of positioning.

No, it was NSU who built it first, before they were merged with Auto Union. You might as well say Volkswagen invented it!
Mazda was granted a licence to build Wankel engines, and naturally came up with their own improvements, especially after Volkswagen quickly put an end to the rotary engine in their brands. So, yeah: bad analogy, in my opinion.

With Top Gear, who knows, maybe the licence was cut short with Sony / GT5 for other reasons. The BBC might have been all too keen to accept an exclusivity agreement for substantially more moneys. Not that it actually matters to me; I've always seen the Top Gear inclusion as a gimmick, much like the modern show itself.

One thing is for certain, with the ongoing success of Top Gear licenses in sim-racers we have not seen the last of it in the genre. It is absolutely a gimmick, but it opens up the product to a much larger audience.

Dan said himself he wants the game opened up to all.

Liveries.
Tuning.
Racing.
Top Gear.
Auto vista.
Casual.
Hardcore.

It's all good to me if it brings in the coffers to finance the series.

Technology does have to grow and this is new 3D tech but it's still 3D which was a fad many years ago with the red/blue glasses. It's just a lot more advanced. I don't like wearing the glasses, ESPECIALLY if I have my own glasses on. It's just one of those... I tried it out with a few things like movies and games at a buddy's house, and tried it most times I was at a store... I was doing this cuz I was set to buy a new HDTV, which I ended up with a good Samsung LED but no 3D. It's just not my thing. Maybe there's a game that shines in 3D and until I play that... my mind's set. 3D is a fad that needs to go away sooner rather than later.

Once upon a time people viewed "automobiles" as a fad that needed to go away. Glad we didn't listen to them.

Of course the technology sucks at first, but as history has proven it will improve. I remember years ago seeing a "PS7" commercial from Sony, with a player inserting a microchip into their ear and they were immediately placed in a virtual game world. We may not have efficient technology right now, but holographic gaming is in the near future; 3D is just a stepping stone.
 
Stereoscopic 3D will never be widely used (as in "everyone watches TV and play games in 3D all the time"). Even without glasses. Mark my words.

Once we'll get true 3D displays, it will change. But we are far from that. Very far. It's not even a question of price. The technology doesn't exist yet.
 
3D displays are only here for the short term. 3D is a gimmick and will be gone before it came. The 3D movie attendance is already down year over year and that is with MORE 3D movies out.
