Xbox Live has one feature alone that is worth the extra bucks for me. Cross game chat. I can play one game, a friend another, one guy watching a movie, one guy just sitting there staring at the desktop and we all can voice-chat in the same lobby. That feature alone is worth the cash. Imagine having unlimited telephone for 5 bucks a month and talk to whoever you want when you want or free phone service where you everyone you want to talk to has to have the same phone model you have to talk and some guys walking around with knock off models that work but sound like crap.
 
Just to let you all know. The well know German gaming-site Xboxfront will show a 4-minute-video about Forza 4 on XBL today. The video is uploaded at the very moment and should be available soon.

That was posted by the site owner and says that we get a four minute action packed Forza 4 video with some interesting announcement for all forza-fans.

He says that the video gets uploaded now and should be soon available. Tomorrow there will follow a HD download of the video.

Interesting announcement eh? Would that be Porsche (please please please let it be lol) or even open wheel racers or... crap.. I don't care... so long as it's new info and not the same info rehashed for the 5th time

I swear it seems some video get's youtube quicker than the time it takes to play the actual video.

Damnit. I am very sorry that the expectations went so high. Mine was also very high, but in the end it was just known stuff and the announcement of a special community day with prices and stuff on Xboxfront.de.

Sorry guys, couldnt know that. :(
 
Oh well, we still got the car reveals later. Hopefully there will be something good today.
 
I guess this was to be expected. T10 wouldn't release some flashy news right before gamescom. But yeah, let's hope the car reveal gives us something droolworthy.
 
Looks like I'll be buying a 360 for this. I doubt I'll buy XBL, so I really hope that the AI isn't as terrible as it is in Forza 3. I will be disappointed :grumpy:

That would severely limit the game, considering its mostly community based.

You get the first month completely free, even when you dont want to buy xbl.

So you can try it out and I think that round about 5 $/€ is not too much for a month.
 
Don't you get a free month with the XBL account you create and another one with a game you purchase or something like that? Been a while since I bought a new Xbox game :lol:
 
Doesn't each Xbox come with 3 free 1 months built in? I know mine did. Plus, just hope yours breaks down, because if it does they will send you a 1 month for free!

It depends on the game, but they usually only give 48hr codes.

This is where they get you. It comes with 3 1 months, for 3 accounts. Meaning you can make 3 accounts and get a 1 month out of each, but you can't get 1 account with 3 months.

After you've made 3 accounts they automatically start with silver

Honestly if you dont plan to get live, you really shouldnt get a 360 or Forza 4.

The ONLY way to truly appreciate Forza is with live. Otherwise you are missing out on the heart and soul of the game. The game series is designed based on the community features and community feedback.
 
Well, it's not that bad without XBL Gold. Granted, it's not like GT, where you'll only miss out on the online racing - but not having access to the storefronts and the auction house is kinda sucky... And the leaderboards are also quite nice ;)

If you're into the online aspects, sure. I rarely go online with FM3 if not for some friends, & I still love putting a couple hours into it every once & a while just racing with a few cars. Same with NFS:HP & online is all that's left for me in that game.

I don't agree. He'll miss out on features and content, from online multiplayer to the auction houses but the SP is already plenty good in FM that 4 should be just as good to play solely offline.

I do agree that the best way to play Forza is by having LIVE Gold though
 
Spending some time to get to know the game and to get somewhere in singleplayer mode might not hurt, though. It's always possible to pick XBL Gold up later, if one thinks it's worth it.

I've done a handful of races online for 3 and 2. And it was always a negative experience.

Yeah, the only reason why I would have it is to get the DL content. I don't plan to race online at all.

They're not talking about online races, they're talking about community liveries, tunes, auctions, leaderboards, and the new rivals mode.
