No title other than F1 2011 can use legitimate F1 vehicles I believe.

Hopefully there will be more Rally stages in Forza 4 though.

IMHO t10 should leave rally out and stick to road racing. It have been proved that quality is better then quantity. Even though i prefer GT5 over Forza (by a small margin), rallying isn't in GT5 on high quality. Other then events i had to finish I didn't play rally. After RBR it doesn't feel quite right, especially when there isn't much gameplay involved regarding rallying.

There are way more open wheel leagues out there. Formel 3, Formel 3000, Formel BMW, asian and american serieses. Its still not clear if open wheelers get in.

Yup, aside from Ferrari, who are still in chaarge of their license themselves, it seems, thus their appearence in GT, as opposed to Red Bull Racing, for example.

Personally, they could drop rally, for all I care. Give me hill climbs instead :P

That would be licensed vehicles that you see in the Formula 1 races with liveries. There's nothing against them using a "generic" Formula 1 car though. And this is where the beauty, literally, of Forza comes through. You can have your generic FM1 car and put your own livery on.

Oh I can agree with you there.

If I were to have an F1 car though I prefer all the flags, rules etc.

I will buy F1 2011 for that fix. Lol.

~Maserati MC12 ~ Car Presentation ~ The fine Art of Forza Motorsport 3 ~

I own F1 2010 on PS3 and although I didn't play through it too too much, it by far is a great F1 game then the minor inclusions of open wheel race cars in GT5. The FGT I can't handle for the life of me with a controller and I need to find a better tune for a wheel, and the 2 Ferrari car's couldn't be used in single player anywhere. I like their inclusions but it's more of a novelty to have it in GT5 than anything. If T10 includes open wheel racers, I'd take the KTM Crossbow, Caterham 7, or Aerial Atom over just including Indy, F1, F3, etc. If they include the Indy/Formula cars, I'd like some type of rules that resemble those classes. Having the car available is fun, having it available and conforming to some standards is even more fun.

Agreed. We don't need rally, motorcycles, go karts, motorcycles, etc. We really just want them to continue to improve on the current simulation experience.

Well to be honest i think Forza needs rally to offer a change of pace and variety to the career mode, even if is not the best rally around. The biggest problem of Forza 3 career mode is just 1 type of events mostly (theres some drag and duels too), for that is way too long, especially if you already played Forza 1 and 2 like me.

Forza need new events like time trails, night races, passing cars, rally or tarmac rally, drift and hopefully something the cone challenge in PGR to add variety and make a fun career mode.

I agree that we dont need bikes, karts, etc but rally will be good.

Autocross?

Autocross?

Autocross was nice in Forza 1, thankfully is comming back now. The more events they give you the better.

The other time i was thinking how cool would be an old fujimi kaido (alternate, not replace obviously) with gravel or dirt roads instead of tarmac, it will be great for Pikes Peak type of events!

I couldn't disagree more. What matters is the QUALITY of the racing not the quantity. Of course quality + quantity would be great, but DON'T sacrifice quality in order to cram more quantity in. DON'T put in weather, night/day transitions, rally etc. if it means the basic driving physics & AI are short-changed. GT5 (like GT4 before it) has way too much "stuff", but still mediocre AI, & absolutely terrible game-play structure.

Can we just have pikes peak instead? :nervous:

lol I don't think I've done one rally event. I didn't wanna face another disappointment in GT5. I'll continue to be bored with current events until FM4.

Variety of events have nothing to do with physics (except rally of course) or AI. GT5 problems are KAZ fault, not variety of event.

Forza already have good physics and AI, now seem they are even better, espeically now that we can turn off the steering assist.

Of course if they add Kart, Nascar, F1, big trucks, dirt bikes, etc will be a mess but is not what i mean, im looking to have more event variety like:

Races (normal o endurance)
Time trials
Drifting
Passing cars
Drags (a bit more complex)
Elimination races
Autocross
Dirt track or tarmac rally.

Those things means wont touch the physics or AI.

How about some point to point stuff?
Passing Cars - Man I can't stand that stuff. I just have something against that kind of action. I think GT5P took the thrill of that away from me fast.

Yes, point to point is fun too, especially in fujimi.

About passing cars, i love that mode, actually payed Forza 3 like that in lots of events, i took a slightly more powerfull car like a A600 againts a A580 (best car of the pack) and let them pass at the start to chase them over the race one after one, made my journey much more fun.

I am still waiting on an open world Forza. I read rumors on the web about something to the same tune prior to E3, unfortunately nothing surfaced. It would be amazing though.

Dirt track or tarmac rally.

I hate when people say this.

The tyre physics properties for off-road tyres are much more complex than tarmac tyres. It's not just a case of reducing/increasing the slip angles, if it was the 'grip reduction' lobby option in FM3 would feel like realistic dirt, instead it just feels as if the tyres are bald. I found a good article on it but can't recall where it is. For a good dirt tyre simulation you have to account for tyres digging in through the loose top surface to gain grip, the traction at speed over the top surface. Those are only the starting two features of a dirt/tyre interaction.

Drive on any grass in FM3 and tell me that feels like real grass, that alone proves the off-road physics would need a re-work.

For me the biggest disappointment in FM3 was the price of cars and parts compared to how much you made in races. Has anything been said about FM4 game economics? Whats the good of having over 500 cars when it takes over a year of 40 hours a week of racing to buy them all?

In general I like the pricing of the cars and performance parts in Forza games. Not all though. I certainly don't like that there are EXTREMELY expensive cars which would take forever to earn in the game. But I really like that parts are different costs. An exhaust for a Honda in real life is significantly cheaper than an exhaust for a Porsche. Porsche performance parts are super expensive!! in GT5, no matter if you are putting a part on a VW or a Ferrari, it still costs the exact same amount.

I don't think the goal of having 500 cars in game is so we can catch 'em all, though some of us will try. The variety means you're bound to find something you'll like in each class. Personally, I don't have too much of a problem with the game economy. Cars are priced realistically, as are most parts. To be fair, I have the game on its absolute hardest setting most of the time, so I'm earning twice as much money. Also, I find that the prize cars I'm winning are often quite competitive, so I usually use those to win races, rather than buying something else. Finally, the upgrades I choose usually aren't too expensive. I'll get better tires, a better suspension, and strip the car to lighten it. That's usually it.

Don't forget to check the Auction House. There are often deals to be had there.

I agree that the car prices are decent but its the race payouts that I feel are not. Bigger races have pretty high payouts irl. There isn't one race in Forza 3 that I know of that pays anywhere close to a million dollars but there are races in real life that do.

And there isn't one race in Forza 3 that's as long as a race IRL either that would pay a million dollars. Forza 3's races you can almost say pay proportionally to real life. I hope that FM4 has the crazy long races coupled with in-game saves AT RELEASE DATE.

You and ZR1Chris have good points.

While we're at it, I'd love to see endurance races with online co-op. Perhaps during downtime the other driver would take the role of crew chief. I don't expect this. It's probably too much work for a feature only a few would use.

I've thought of this too so of course I'm gonna say it's a great idea ;)
As you say though only few would use it. I could see the group I race with surely using it though.

Why does Dan look so much like a combination of Jean Reno and Paul Giomatti?

And Kaz looks like a villain out of a martial arts film.

Worrisome, isn't it.

Also, got my copy of the LE pre-ordered today.👍

Two of my favorite actors. They look world-weary and tired.

Since Dan Greenawalt directs a major game studio, I imagine he's also world-weary and tired. It's a rough biz.
