Anyway, bro, what's the problem with that? FM seems to be the only consoleracer that has realtime tire deformation, problem?

I have no problem with it being the same. I do have a problem with people jumping up and down like the second coming of Jesus claiming it looks totally different when in actual fact it's no different.

Hell, the entire tyre textures and tread patterns are hand me downs from FM3.

It does look much better, night and day better. Tire deformation in FM3 looked more like the tire was clipping through the track.

I have a problem with others saying that FM4 didn't clearly improve tire deformation visuals when going by that pic posted above of FM4 and comparing that to FM3 "clipping" visuals for deformation.

It's nice to see they didn't carry those things over.

What you see in this video is not tire deformation, it's downright clipping.

Edit : From what I recall, tire deformation didn't look that much different in FM3. But we'd have to see it in motion to really do a fair comparison.

Exactly.

If I wasn't getting a 404 every time I tried to look at my Forza for FM3 I'd post screenshots that show it's exactly the same.

Look at ~1:05 clearly shows identical deformation even in motion.

Yup, because the tire deformation visuals were next to non-existent. Anytime people got decent pictures of deformation, it showed up as looking more like clipping.

Indeed. It's nice to see they fixed it for FM4 (going by that screenshot at least).

I wonder why people have an problem with the improvement though. Confusing.

It's not an improvement, its' completely unchanged.

Yup the tire appearing as if it was floating off the ground or clipping through the ground was my very first complaint about F3. Even before the game came out it was a very noticable problem and still exists to this day. Seems like they resolved most of that issue with F4. Not all, but most.

Dang right. You realize we're gonna own in FM4, right?
I think we'd have had season 2 locked up but each of us missed a race and our fill-in drivers were terrible.

Damn straight! FM4 will be the dawn of complete domination for us. (Getting A1 steak sauce ready for possible eating or words later)

Tire flex was very much visible in FM3 (when under heavy load of course). So I'm not sure they fixed the tire deformation, it was pretty much fine in most cases.

What was wrong was the clipping that would occur in some cases (tire clipping through the ground). I hope it's fixed, but it's hard to tell from just *one* picture.

Tire flex was/is pretty horrible in FM3 and always has been. The CGI trailers early on were pretty deceptive. When people tried to reproduce the same tire flex, most videos and images showed the tire clipping instead.

But this must be another case of having a different copy of the game or different experiences ;)

Here is another example of how poor the visuals were, to those that seem clueless:

Not sure we actually disagree here. There was visible tire flex AND there was clipping through the ground. I hope the clipping part is fixed. But both were happening and the strict tire flexing doesn't seem that much different from what we see in those pictures.

Edit : You're comparing off-screen replays with photomode. That's why we need a fair direct-feed replay comparison (yeah I know, not gonna happen).

Still, tire flex looks like pretty much similar to me.

So it looks identical in the photo modes of each game? What's to say they don't look identical in game?

If it's someone having a "different copy of the game" it must be you.

Oh, there was indeed tire flex, and visual. But it was horrible in visual quality. Granted the physics behind it were the most important, but it just looked bad.

👍 Good one.

Hopefully it will look better in FM4 👍

But we can't judge that from a photomode shot.

V8 Supercars (Holden and Ford) are both R3 and around the same PI level as GT2 and GT3 cars, will make for some interesting racing!

Again, they look identical in photo mode, what proof (if any) do you have of it being any different in game?

Dumbed down version just for here
