After doing all the one make championships last week , it dawned on me we really need a 911 Cup car.
Yep, have wanted the current 911 Cup car for a while. That being said though, I've found the GT3 RS to be unbearable to drive, and would sort of expect a 911 Cup car to be the same.

My main issue with the 911 GT3 is that it suffers from terminal understeer as soon as the tyres fall off even a little bit
That's odd, I get the opposite. Just did 7 laps at Glands Snatch. I have to keep the rear in check after tire wear cause it will constantly step out. I'm in a sim rig, cockpit view, sim steering. The tires are a little underinflated. Also in the Suspension geometry, zero out the two bottom values the best you can to try and get more mechanical grip before the tires give out and slide.

Microsoft is planning "major" Xbox layoffs next week. I hinted that more Microsoft layoffs were coming earlier this month, and some major cuts are going to impact Xbox next week. Some managers have been briefed about the plans, and I keep hearing there will be significant layoffs impacting Microsoft Gaming. There's online speculation that entire studios could be closed, and I've heard from sources that Turn 10, the studio behind Forza Motorsport, is bracing for cuts.

Giving how bad fm8 sold I'm not surprise.

Now if they were to bring fm8 over to ps5 I'll be there day1 what a dream to have FM and GT on the same system.

It seems like they're having a rough enough time on a normal day, can't imagine what's gonna happen if this ends up being true. Sure though, keep laying more people off. That'll fix everything. And then never punish the executives because they know better, right? Lets get rid of tons of senior talent and then just have a revolving door of contract workers that barely have any time to understand the proprietary Forza engine before they're kicked to the curb as per Microsoft contract rules (Lord help them). Very infuriating.

This makes me quite sad, even if I'm not surprised. It's a good game but it's no Horizon and the market agrees.

When I was checking SteamDB (which obviously ignores console and Game Pass), it was generally on the same curve as EA SPORTS WRC and we know how that ended up :(

Don't have anything other than "hopes and prayers" for the dev team right now.

I'm recalling the 2020 Showcase that featured the first wave of Series X/S games and well, maybe the writing was on the wall back then, as nothing that appereared in that World Premier teaser is reflected in the current state of the game.

And let's not forget the other failures / no shows / dissapointments: Halo Infinite, State of Decay 3, Everwild, Hellblade 2, and Fable...

Just looking at your signature alone makes me sad...
What does the J stand for in your name - is it Jonah...? 🤔 [I hope you can still see the funny side of things, and not just the negatives that have been happening with CM).

Until anything is announced, everything is just speculation, but with the relative lack of success of FM23, I can easily envisage T10 being "merged" into Playground Games with staff transferred across (where they are retained).

I hope the new T10 audio team remains in whatever form as, having previously left to work on the audio for PD, the key members have made a big difference to FM23 car audio on their return.

They better not close Turn 10. One of the best studios out there. Love Forza Motorsport.
If T10 really does get some cuts on an already supposed current small team, then this game might take even longer to fix up. Better yet we could probably expect changes with updates in terms of sizes and frequency

I just heard the news and i kinda fell really sad with the possibility of the worst case scenario, tried my best to try avoid it to happen, promoted the hell of this game even in the face of the heavy criticism beacuse i knew that the game would improve as it is improving right now

but, putting emotion asides and focusing logically, i am not sure what leadership is planning, but i think that 1 of 2 things may happen, and both may hurt forza franchise on long term although in different degress

1- FM update team closed, T10 focused only in-engine work for Fable and Horizon
2- FM update team cut slllightly, most layoffs focused on devs in FH6 and Fable that were already concluded their workss

Considering the fact that the idea of FM is closer to Fallout76/Sea of Thieves than as Forza series is traditionally, the fact that Fable and FH6 launch are next year and that layoffs may also be planned for UK Studios, is save to assume that 2 will be likely to happen, likely they plan to steamline the things that FH/FM does together into a single team and them could deal with the updates together
What the hell is going on with Microsoft lately?

They spent billions on Activision and are trying to recover that money by shutting down developers.

is not much related with ABK, its more corporate unit struggling specially the ai-related, there has some talks that maybe there has a AI bubble about to burst and that companies are trying to mirigate the demages

also there has the fact that shareholders demand non-stop profits, if your company has a bad quarter with no short term growth in future, your company is deem not valuable for future investiments and (absourdly) prone to go under soon
Some would say it started in 2010 with Kinect. Others say even earlier. What has been clear though is bad business practices, bad business decisions have continued to cost them fueling even more bad practices and decisions. It's a downward spiral.
sadly bad business decisions and its conseguencies really hurt the company, when is not the head bosses sabotaging the game departament with some trend, is the constanly "PTSD" that xbox division has since the late-kinect times

The whole fate of the Xbox console to me is mostly about the rise of mobile gaming.

We're now in a place where everyone can own a smartphone powerful enough to play all genres of games on, and that is now the core gaming market. So I am pretty sure that an entire teen generation which would previously have been the next wave of console owners is simply not bothering and going with smartphones or PCs instead.

The console market shrinking means Microsoft chose to go fully multiplatform. Forza Horizon is on Playstation and no doubt Switch 2 is being assessed.

I noticed there are no Weekly Challenges in FM23 this week and a number of the "special" timed events concluded next week, which is when the first of the 3 returning tours unlocks. I think next week will provide a good indication whether all that is coming up to September is the 3 returning tours (and if that is the case, there's no evidence yet of anything going forward other than returning tours being dripfed one per month).

My instinct is that the game is now setup for running on "life support" with nothing new being added, but no-one knows what the actual situation is.

As for UK layoffs, I think they will be Fable related. That game just seems to be eating time (and therefore money). It's too far along to be cancelled altogether (I think) but I wonder if they are going to have to release some kind of "scaled down" version based on what is nearest to completion, with any incomplete stuff being rolled up as DLC.

FH5 was a big hit player numbers wise, so I can't see cuts being made there, more likely reallocation of the remaining staff of T10 from FM23 to work on completing FH6.

The Update 22 will most likely come around in July. Update 21 is promoted as a 1 month update in in-game messages.

It would really suck to see T10 gutted or entirely shutdown especially as the game is looking like it's got some positive momentum.

No doubt it would be a very short sighted move. As we've seen so often, companies only act with short-term returns in mind (most of the time, atleast) so I guess it's not hardly surprising.

Whatever the case, I hope there is at least some transparency going forward on what the future of FM2023 (will we still even get updates at this point?) and the franchise as a whole is.

Public Service Announcement: If you've not done the single make races yet and want to see liveries on the AI cars, instead of just all white, wait a few days. There is a patch incoming soon to fix this, as quoted by a Dev on the bug forum.

Did anyone ask whether they're aware of the Open Class Tour bug where you can't restart the whole series and do it again?

But you can only win them once. If you sell a reward car and beat the tour again, you cannot get it again.
Does anyone have confirmation on this? I'm pretty sure I won a second BMW M1. At any rate I have two in my garage and don't remember buying one althoough I could be mistaken.
