The thing I did for the Chevron B16's 3 clean lap at the 'Ring challenge is that I'm using the auto-drive / auto-accel and I've set my car to be alone on the track. I'm absolute trash when it's the Nordschleife and I would be resetting often.

I know it's bummish and wimpy on my part but it's such a stress reliever for this case. I never use these assists normally but this time is a different case.

Edit: It's actually interesting to see how fast the AI can be on a one-car racing event.

3 clean laps of the Nordschleife? Do they have to be consecutive? If so I think I'll be doing them at about 10mph. See you in a couple of days...

I don't think I've done a combined total of three clean laps there. Ever. So I'll be right behind you, just not TOO close, because collisions and all...

I came so close to doing a clean lap once until an AI punted me into the wall just before the final straight. Almost makes me wish for the superwide version from previous Forzas (just kidding). I may have to turn the full racing line on for this.

They'd have to look at my entire racing history to get anywhere near three cleanies out of me. Including other racing games. Especially if it's at night in the rain.

Don't get me wrong, green hell fans. I love racing at Nurburgring. Just not quite as much as Spa, La Sarthe or any other track ever created by anyone not named Hermann Tilke.

To be completely fair to Mr. Tilke, turns out when not constrained by Formula One rules and regulations, he can design a pretty decent road course. See Rocky Mountain Motorsports for reference https://rockymotorsports.com/the-circuit/ I can't hate the guy any more.

I already had the car but did the 3 clean laps of the Nordschleife - with 3 different cars. Would have done it in 3 attempts, but tried to be cute and do a test drive with varied weather but race tyres in the rain turns the game into Project Cars 2.

What kind of updates or improvements are you folks expecting moving forward 2026? As Phil said that the project isn't cancelled and they will be getting around to it ultimately, something along those lines.

Looks incredible. Thank god it's current gen only.
I do agree, the game looks impressive although more work should have gone into the car models and special effects such as tire smoke, water spray, windscreen wipers wiping away raindrops, etc.

Too bad the visuals don't match the car sounds.

I would expect absolutely nothing other than the drip-feed of old seasonal events to continue. There hasn't been a single game update since about June, and reactivating old content is enough for it to still be classed as a 'supported' live service, which is all that has been said about its future.

Usually I like to fully guess these kind of things but im not fully buying what Phil Spencer said just yet. Why has not T10 made an official statement yet? Thats really all most of us want to hear, from them. Until then this game is incomplete and probably won't get finished...probably. In fantasy land though I would want them to pick back up say in January and do a quarterly update with loads of returning and new cars each update along with a new track and fixes each update. So 4 "new" tracks, say maybe another 60-80 cars, a few return features and new ones etc....

I still can not believe what happen to this Game...It had/has a great Potential.
When it was released I had lot Fun with it, OK it was not perfect but they fixed it with time.
Why did they just dopped it like that, Strange!

Has Motorsport ever been on sale before?

I had gamepass so never needed to know, but now I cancelled following their recent price hike noticed it's on sale.

£35 for Standard in the UK, although it can be had for £20 via their Iceland store.

Yes. Right now, the standard is roughly US$42 in my local store. However, the bigger discounts are for the deluxe/premium (50% off).

It's discounted by 50% in virtually every significant sale over at least the last 18 months. I know because I've been waiting to see if it drops below that, check it every time there's a sale on, and it never has.

I still have GPU until next December due to having stacked a year in advance, but find I barely play anything on GP now. Hoping for a few months of FH6 before it runs out.

Same. It's like they couldn't cover their losses or wanted to live up to what they had promised so said "okay, just F it" - let's fire half the staff and decide what we want to do with it. What a bunch of jokers. Corporate America at its finest.

My theory is they'll use it's engine for FH6 and refine it there, and hopefully they'll come back and treat us to any improvements they learn.

I don’t think there’s any coming back, the reward (revenue) isn’t going to be big enough to justify the dev time.

Microsoft is (reportedly) very profit-driven these days, tasking every product with making a 30% profit margin at minimum.

My thought is:

Once they've done their part in FH6, they'll make an announcement that they're going to come back to Motorsport. They'll start slow with fixes and little features, then test the waters with bigger content drops.

There's little to no reason they won't continue being support for FH6, especially for the expansions. I'd wager they will go for 3 map expansions this time around.

This game is over.

Maybe they will try a reboot one day (let’s say 2028-9) that’s all we can expect at this point, and chance of that are still very low.

With MS being all about selling PlayStations now, wouldn't Motorsport do okay on other consoles? Even if it sells 1/5th as many copies as FH5 on PS5 that's a lot of money that'd be worth keeping it alive for? Maybe a few less on Switch 2 after giving them FH5 and FH6 too?

Although if the develop it a bit before doing that, they could possibly double those numbers?

MS's 30% target surely can't be too hard to attain, given they are doing fairly well already, on the last place console. Now they're opening up to the bigger platforms - obviously they'll take their cut and use that to further squeeze Xbox out of existence - but think of the short term gains, and the potential to make a name for Microsoft Studios as a reputable brand on consoles where they can't affect subscription prices.

The game is not over.

Maybe they will finish up on FH6 and come back to continue work, add content, and add the missing tours in order to acquire all the cars in the game. That's what we can expect at this point. Chances of that seem really high.

See, I can just make up stuff that I know nothing for sure as well.

Who knows? It would be nice if Turn 10 gets back to this game. I'm not going to rule it out but, I am definitely not banking it.

I have played a tiny bit more of it recently. For what it is, it's a fun racing game that I'll run when the serious games start to feel like a job. Right now, AC Rally has most of my attention.

It's a lot of time and money to invest into a game that was frankly very poorly received (English-language Steam reviews are still only 46% positive after all of the great updates), and would be going directly up against GT7 on its home turf. FH5 on the other hand is a beloved sales juggernaut which was still being actively worked on while the port was in progress. It would be nice to see, but I think it's unrealistic to expect when MS aren't even prepared to invest in bug fixes for the existing platforms.

There's a big difference in how realistic those assumptions are though. Suggesting that development is not going to resume on a game that was dropped almost six months ago, when that sort of revival is extremely rare even among popular and huge-selling titles, and many of the people working on it have been fired, isn't exactly a wild theory.

It's also not a wild theory when someone from the company, rather high up, tells you that the game isn't done and it's being put on temporary hold in which they will come back to, that they may actually do just that. Turn 10 have more employees than Reiza and Kunos put together. Reiza have my #1 and Kunos have my #2. 🤷‍♀️

I don't see them coming back to it at any point with new content. If they came out and said "we're done with this game". The player base would drop even worse than it already is. Telling people it's getting shelved is just a way to keep their hardcore player base.

Genuine question, who said that and what exactly did they say? Happy to have my mind changed.
