Well, guess what game I recently got and has me all up in a tizzy...

That's right, Monster Truck Madness 2. and, since then, I've been in a mood for trucks. Big trucks.

So, I think that we need a thread dedicated to the dirtier sports. From the sands of the Sahara, to the Hill-n-hole mud pits of Southern Florida, From Crandon International off-road raceway to the Monster Jam nearest you, let's see some pics of Trucks, SUVs, and Buggies, "doing it in the dirt" as Army Armstrong would say.

Well? Get to it. ;3

Funnily enough I've been considering starting a thread like this for a while now...

Not necessarily as big, but still doing what they do best...

Any objections in having SUVs and pickups in general in here (as we don't really have a thread for such things) or does it all have to be ruff'n'tumble stuff?

Meh, why not? I suppose we don't have to limit it to competition vehicles...

Oh, that Pro-2 truck lifting it's rear tire? Epic. X3

Monster truck madness 2?
That's seriously old...., but really cool. I still remember playing the hell out of the demo in the past, never got the full version though.

Actually, It started out getting a Beta of a game called "Monster Freestyle Racing," which uses MTM2 add-ons to work. The physics are really realistic compared to MTM2...unfortunately, the download site has been listed as an attack site for some time. >:

Needs more Jeep! :P

Independent suspension. That. Is. Awesome.

Great Land Rover and Jeep pics. As for that "tilted" Land Rover image, it's hard to tell how steep it's really climbing. There's quite a bit of air in that front wheelarch so it's obviously at a fairly steep angle that it's pulling that much weight off the front.

This is what Land Rovers can do...

Land Rover's FTW! If they weren't so un-godly expensive to fill up at the pump I'd own one for sure. I've just always loved them for some reason.

People in the states are allergic to diesels for some reason. Seriously if we had a diesel LR2 over here I'd probably have that sitting in the garage right now instead of the Cooper.

I still don't think we have enough in the Land Rover quota yet .

Now for something even more awesome, Icelandic trucks...or "jeeps" as they call them.

The Spyker is good to - not not off road I imagine.

I seem to remember that the Octavia wagon 4X4 thing (which we didn't get) was also pretty able off road - so I'm assuming they took the know-how off that.

Plus they run rally cars - but that has no relevance to what they put in the road cars, really - unlike Scooby.

I showed this picture to the guys at work, including one that owns a Land Rover, and we all think it's a bit fishy... This photo seems to have been rotated some.

That's because it is rotated. If you look at the rocks, you can see where the water has been standing, and last time I knew, water stood horizontal, and not diagonal...

Also, Land Rovers FTW? Hell no! The only real Land Rover is the Defender. The Defender is bad-ass, everything else Land Rover costs more money than they do duty off-road...

I'm highly dissapointed by the lack of Toyotas in this thread so far. You just cannot have an off-roader thread, and not fill it with a bunch of FJs and Landcruisers. Allow me to make this thread a whole lot more epic:

I'm a real FJ40 and '90s Landcruiser fanboy. My dad has owned at restored at least 5 FJ40s, during the time when I was a little boy, and he has owned countless Landcruisers after that period. I remember when me and my cousin were sitting in one of the FJs playing adventurers. We drove to the arctic to shoot polar bears

Wow. would not expect that Skoda to be so good in the dirt. Appears more of a soft-roader.

To be fair on your expectations it doesn't look like a particularly tough course, but it's got enough grip and ground clearance to not get stuck in puddles or on grassy hills.

*shrug* still, interesting.

But now...Ford Broncos in their natural habitat. The desert.

And If you're in a stadium? No Problem!

Ah, one of my favorites from the old days. I have a Micro Machines model of NP! II

Awesome thread. I myself love the Dakar trucks and Icelandic trucks, they're just so badass.

My favourite would be the DAF Turbotwin I and II, quite possibly the most badass truck known to exist. It's been know to run down and pass the rally cars on the straights during the dakar.

No it's not getting passed by a Peugeot 405(being driven by Ari Vatanen mind you), it's catching up and passing it!

Lol too bad the Antarctic snowcruiser was such a failure that they abandoned the damn thing and it's sadly somewhere under the ocean these days or taken by the soviets some say. Who knew that 4 giant slicks would be a horrible idea for the antarctic.......

Well, the Firestone competition worked out pretty well on a Ford Pickup...
