The FJ is an awesome car in my opinion. Lots of people say it's butt-ugly, but I think it looks fantastic, it looks so different from all the other off-roaders.

Great car + great spotter = great climb:

Not fond of the ketchup/mustard paint, but I love Baja Bugs :D

You can't have a 4x4 thread without some classic Dodge Powerwagons :sly:.
I see your Powerwagon (Good pics, by the way 👍.) and raise you a few other goodies.

Why would Icelanders even consider tires, when they could have these?...

Those icelandic 4x4s - awesome. Those are proper off-roaders.

The MINI on the BF Goodrich tyres is also pretty cool. Wonder if they've beefed up the suspension on it too?

Aye. Seems like an offroad hardparker. If there is such a thing. Not only that, it has those ugly Lund stick-on hood scoops.

I realize its pretty much not going to happen in GT5, but wouldn't it be nice if PD included some off road racing other than the rally? Don't get me wrong, I love rally racing, but how about racing on some less established roads, across more difficult terrain. I feel like most games that have attempted things like this were much more arcade-esque, and were quite unrealistic in physics and such. Maybe you guys know some games I don't, but something attempting a realistic dakar, or rock crawling sereis would be pretty cool.

awesome thread!!, some pretty epic pics!!, especially the jumping ford bronco!!

Every time I look at this thread I want a Land Rover more and more. I'm not sure what I would do with one but still I want one. We really need diesel ones in the states so I can buy one since I'm not real keen on getting 20mpg on the highway.

It's an Icelandic truck, they are allergic to lift kits apparently....and I want to fly a Land Rover.

But now for something a bit different:

This?

Bonus points if you fit an icelandic kit and maybe upgrade the HSE's blower. Super bonus if you get air on the "hills". ;P

The ultimate off-roader! 7 feet of articulation thanks to fully independent chain driven wheels on all corners with hydraulic suspension.

That's too backwoods for me, I've never actually seen the point of driving through a mud pit for the hell of it to be honest. If I had a Land Rover I'd probably be more apt to taking it to some more obscure outdoor destinations since I could drive closer to them and carry more stuff. The Cooper really isn't geared towards anything outdoors.

Well maybe:

I love me some nice, modestly lifted F150s :D

But please, enlighten as to the point of this? It's gained ZERO ground clearance and looks stupid.
