Terrible connection problems last night in the V8 series. Hope all is well ce soir!
 
Ahh ok, I hope all is better tonight!

We will have 2 extra drivers joining us tonight, so expect a fairly weighty grid!

That was fun!

Race 1 I don't really remember the middle of it, but the end I could have sworn I would end up 3rd or 4th, but somehow won it - the two cars behind me both within a tenth as well. Coming out of the last corner I had 3 cars on my tail, but managed to keep people out of my slipstream just enough to take the win.

Race 2 again I don't really remember the middle of the race, haha, but was a fantastic race with Knight throughout. I hoped to catch him by surprise and pit a bit earlier than he might, but I was probably a bit too blatant with my strategy, so we ended up pitting together. We then both followed nose to tail for lap after lap, both definitely just trying to see where it might be possible to get a break on the last lap. Our driving was clean and fair but was definitely making Syjones catch us pretty quickly!

In the end I thought I might be able to break away on the back straight after Nate ran a bit wide through the last chicane, but it wasn't quite enough - he caught back up and grabbed a deserved win across the line. Nice one! 👍

Pretty cool racing for most of tonight, shame about the couple of crashes that did happen, and great work through the chicanes lads!

I got pretty unlucky, with the Turn 1 screw up, and then after gaining many many places and going off into the sand when trying to leave room for uxious (same corner as the Nate-Sy crash).

Nate-Syjones crash.

The Sy pulled to the right (according to my replay) Nate lagged back, making it look like Sy had a clear pass, but of course, Nate was still there. It's very hard to say whether Sy should have even tried the move or not, but the second hit that sent Nate into the sand maybe should have been avoided.

You guys say what you think.



After watching the video a few times, the second hit is the main focus. Sy left next to no room for Knight, and powered out as if no one was there. (Potential 4 point penalty for the 4th to 7th place loss)

Caution to Tyrrell, Race 1, Last corner, you under-steered and nudged me wide without returning the place, loosing me 3 potential places.​

Well obviously I didn't see the lag, but the pass was fair enough because there was room...
However he defiantly should have given more room after coming through.

That's very fair of you knight. I've looked at the replay a number of times. Knight got in the dirt coming out of the chicane which gave him problems trying to make the lesmo which in turn left a gap which I went for. Obviously trying to avoid driving off into the sand knight turned in and we made contact. I drive using the cockpit view so as I came off the corner I had no idea of where knight was. If I used the chase view maybe I would of been able to see and give him some room but I don't and I was commited to taking the corner as fast as I could, like we all do. I've not got a problem with the second contact. I've made the move, it's up to the guy behind to make his own arrangements so to speak. The only guilt I have is I wasn't far enough along side when I made the initial move. If you want to give a penalty Frag I'm cool with that.

Oh yeah fantastic racing. The 1st race was nuts. Couldn't work out if it was s*** or genius!! Bit like that step brothers film. In the beginning because it was so close I was changing gear to the engine note of the car in front! In the end had to rely on the little red light.

Okay, fair enough you couldn't see, but you should still of expected me to be there... There was a few times I was giving room to people that had already given up on the overtake, just to avoid crashes ;)
 
As I posted in the round up, I stuffed myself into the gravel trying to leave room round there because I know how dangerous it is. That turn is essentialy a chicane, due to it's minimal margin for error.
 
Sy i have that problem when racing these cars together! I need to use interior view to see the rev limiter as i dont use HUD. Also Chris if you're talking about the corner in the vid, It's a great place to take people as most slow down when really, you don't need to if you hit it right therefor sliding up the inside is a good place earner.
 
In order to go through there the fastest, you do need to slow down early jimmy, hence the reason I did...

I use cockpit view as I like to experience the full GT5 experience!! :-) i use the bumper cam when I get serious. Grrrrrr. They are noisy little feckers when you get 3 or 4 in line. Gets quite confusing!

Now D Max. You need to give people room when going round corners. None of this sliding up the inside as you put it!
 
I've decided to follow through with the 4- point deduction. The racing has been very clean through the series, and others who caused trouble left the series. Sy your move wasn't too bad, but the losses to knight were catastrophic.

Unfortunately won't be around for tonight's races as I said id go to a blooming football match. Gutted as I kinda need tonight's points to stay in the hunt!
 
SERIES CLOSED​

Opened the room tonight and only me and Knight turned up. This level of interest means I have to close the series.

There was some great racing and awesome battles with such a great car, and it's a real shame that it lost interest so quickly when I was expecting full grids every night.

Sorry guys, I had to work last minute and couldn't notify anyone in time 👎 I am available next week if there is enough interest to keep going. This series was becoming my favorite, always lots of battles, we all seemed to be very close at just about every track. Either way Frag, I will keep an eye out for your next series, would love to join as long as the time/scheduling works out. 👍
