Didn't really convince me, hell I could have made a simliar list if the PS3 was coming out tomarrow and the 360 in 6 more months or something.

I still won't buy a PS3 until GT5 comes out and that's only if GT5 offers at least 10 cars that I want to drive in a video game. But honestly anything I really want to play would come out for both systems, also I enjoy FPS and it looks like the 360 will have better support.

#7 #1 and #5 are the only reasons I give a crap about..

Xbox doesn't have a "killer app"..That's such a lame azz reason...
Ps3 doesn't have "any apps"....The USB is nice...but so what..
I don't care about memory sticks or anything like that, because i can buy a 9 dollar disposible camera......

7 players...

MG-Retirement home rumble..No comment..
"more japanese developers"..Looks like someone's got Yellow-fever...
The camera's cool, but i'll never use it..but it's nice so I included it..
and the Blu-ray I can see why someone might like it, but i still don't care.
And that controller is still a joke...

I,m just glad I will have both a PS3 and Xbox 360. In other words a great setup of 2 great consoles.

As long as it still plays PS2 games, it'll sell... and it'll sell BIG.

The possibility of a HD Eye Toy mixed with online play is just too good... imagine a mechwarrior or similar game wherein you can have your squadmates in comm-windows on our screen?... whoops, I mean your auxilliary screen (dual monitors...). I'd actually buy another TV just for that.

The wireless controllers are a meh for me... I've never met a wireless controller I liked (in terms of response), but if these are good, then no problem.

So what you're saying is...

1. Xbox having rushed titles doesn't matter to you. Okay.

PS3 has many apps, over 100 that will release within the first year (tentatively scheduled). I'm willing to bet within 18 months the PS3 will have more PS3 games than the 360 will have 360 games.

MG> Anything you've ever played in your life. Awesome story, great delivery, you're just too...simple to follow the story. Blah blah blah.

Japanese developers make better games than US developers, this is fact. More quality titles come from Japan. Deal with it. Just because you confine yourself to the sorry selection of the Xbox doesn't mean you have to ignore the wonderful titles of japan, you do have a PS2...or three of them.

Blu-Ray > DVD. 9GB max is a joke, and the 360 will get tapped out so quick, it's going to make me laugh. Just wait an see, when GTA4 is out, with an amazing amount of content, people will wonder if their 360 is even worth it. Just wait.

But try not to sound so short sighted next time.

THE XB360 deos have a killer app, it's called Project Gotham Racing 3, thats the only one so far though, I've little interest in any other 360 games that are out now.

Though I agree the support for the PS3 does look like it will eclipse that of the 360 in a realtively short period of time.

However the fact that we don't know when the PS3 will be released and what will be released with it at this point kind of makes a few of thoes points stupid ones. But MGS4 is THE reason to buy a PS3 if you need one.

Half Life 2.

LOL!!! HL2 sucked thats not a good game at all ha ha ha ha

9gb is quite alot. They can fit oblivion on that...

I hope that is sarcasm :)

THE XB360 deos have a killer app, it's called Project Gotham Racing 3

This will be a killer app for the 360 yes, but compared to other games on the ps3 it wont stand the test of time like a Halo in 360 dressing's would have.

when GTA4 is out, with an amazing amount of content, people will wonder if their 360 is even worth it

tha_con you hit the nail on the head, games like GTA4 will need huge amounts of storage, but the 360 will have the HDD support so will probably have the option to buy it online and DL it to their HDD and play, but thye will probably have to go through some silly and cra*y version of steam-a-like, BR will be awsome no doubt and with all but a few Movie companies supporting BR you will be able to take advantage of the new HD movies too.

The 360 will have its plus points and negative ones too, but comaperd to PS3 the 360 is a lame duck.

Half Life 2 was one of the best FPS's I've ever played. The only thing wrong with it is the easy cheesy ending.

I doubt if Microsoft is going to do anything like Steam... that would effectively kill the non-US market. I'm drawing any conclusions re: PS3 vs XBox 360 until both systems are out. But the precedents for systems jumping the gun and coming out much earlier than competitors who come out with much better developed systems (Nintendo, anyone?) aren't good.

LOL!!! HL2 sucked thats not a good game at all ha ha ha ha

HL2 is the simply one of the best games ever made. Fantastic story telling, mixed with amazing action sequences.

I hope that is sarcasm

How is 9gb a small amount? I do agree that more space ia better ofc.

The 360 will have its plus points and negative ones too, but comaperd to PS3 the 360 is a lame duck.

It's abit soon to judge don't you think?

You know, those reasons were all ok I suppose.

However, the biggest and most important reason to wait (in my opinion) was left out.

Price.

Everyone acted like the PS3 was going to cost an arm and a leg, while the X360 was going to be a reasonable price.

Well as the x360 release date hits us, we have all suddenly found out that the x360 is going to be much closer to the ps3 price than anyone wanted to admit a few months ago.

What is it, 299 for a base system, then 399 for an online system with wireless controllers?
That's far more than MS pretended it would cost us when they were hyping the cost comparisons with Sony.

So with a price that high, why buy at this point in time?

Why not wait and see what the PS3 has to really offer?

For the kind of money we will spend on these systems I wouldn't do anything less than wait to make sure I'm getting the most bang for the buck.

Other than missing out on that one reason, I think they did an alright job.

The only reason I really liked on that list was the Japanese developer support.
Most of that stuff was bogus tech crap that I really don't care for.

However, my japanese game developers are going to support the PS3 big time and that's one reason for waiting that I can live with. 👍

Also, seeing the graphics and capabilities of the system before buying it's competition isn't a bad idea either. :P

Price.

Hiya! :D :embarrassed:  Meow! (='.'=)

I don't think price may be such a big factor in this console battle from the way everything have been spilled. People who want a PS3 on launch or near launch will be saving up money already since PS3 is said to be expensive. I believe that Sony gave out this warning early enough so people can plan ahead on saving money. (Christmas money from parents, friends, relatives help too)

Online play should be one of PS3's biggest feature to compete with Xbox360 in the online world. Sony may even be able out do them with popular games that attracts the entire world. Games like Tekken, Soul Calibur, Gran Turismo, and Socom are the games I believe that will give Sony billions and billions month after month.

So far, this is how I see this console system war between Xbox360 and PS3 could look like.

Xbox360 = GM = sells in the US, but not very good elsewhere
PS3 = Toyota, Nissan, other Japanese manufactors = Sells everwhere :embarrassed:

I would like to still have an Xbox360, but I am losing interest in it overtime. I don't see any games that I may be interested in. I will get a PS3 for sure since it got a very strong back up from japanese developers which happens to be the games I play. :embarrassed:

Ah, but McLaren's Angel...

I think you miss my point.
I'm not saying the price difference is what will be important...

I'm saying the similarity of price will be the important issue (not that issue alone, but it serves as one of the key issues).

In that I mean, X360 was hyped to us as the less expensive system and now that it's out we are finding the true price to be much higher than the original estimates.

That means there will be no major cost advantages for the Xbox and in turn, the PS3 should be given a fair chance (since you will spend nearly the same amount of money on either system).

I'm just saying that all the people who bashed the PS3 for cost will now be faced with the problem of rationalizing a X360 purchase for nearly the same price as a PS3.

Of course, this isn't exactly a major issue, but it's still something to consider. :D

My understanding up until recently had been that a fully setup and ready to game system for X360 would be 299 and the same would be 399 to 499 for the ps3.

Now I'm finding out that an internet ready gaming system with wireless controllers from MS will cost 399 and as for the ps3, nothing has changed as far as I know.

However, the difference between the cost of systems is going down and that's a bad thing for MS.
Great for Sony though. 👍

Especially since you don't have to buy an upgraded version of the system just to get wireless controllers and whatnot. :P

I did not read it but from the responces of course the GTF Xbox camp wont be happy with it.

But 9GB wont go far at all in the future but its not small, It's the applications. Some Xbox360 games already are there or close to it. If anyone wants to include 720p video its going to eat up disc space. I mean why run the game in 720p but have to switch down to 480p/i for video.

As far as First Person Shooters, I dont see any advantge for Xbox360. If you consider how easy it is to just port over a PC game then I'd say thats the only one. PS2 fell of in the fps mix because of hardware limits. There are none now for such games.

I dont think XB360 has a killer app(damn you Bethesda) yet. PGR3 is not it, it wasnt even in the top 5 most wanted xbox360 games from surveys. PGR2 wasnt a killer ap. PGR3 is more and less of the same with additions from the reveiws i read. At the same time as drifster said PS3 has no apps. But that wasnt the point.

And Memory Sticks are nice they just need a better name. They are far better and more cost efficient than memory cards.

I see your point Kent, the PS3 will probably cost at the most ÂŁ100 more than the XB360 base pack costs now, and not much more than the premium pack. Thats not bad imo, put it that way.

Wait a couple of years and you will. The best thing to be said about the PS3 is that it's built for the future. You may think that having Blu-ray support is overkill but one thing that the computer business has shown us is that it expands at an incredible rate.

The XBox360 is built to be pretty good right now, the PS3 is designed to handle whatever comes along in the future.

The best thing to be said about the PS3 is that it's built for the future

It's gonna be about as future proof as the next machine. You shall see. A few years after it's been out, it will start to look sad compared to the pc games of the same time. It will look gob smacking for it's time though.

The Blue ray gubbins is nice though.

I may sound anti PS, but if someone said the same thing about the 360, I'd tell them they were wrong too. People seem to be forgetting that the PS3 is just a games machine.

But you wont need a pair of $600 Graphics cards or 300gb HDs or 2gigs of ram to play similar looking games.

Its not the graphics they are refering to as far as the future. Not one graphic GPU gets a chance to be used to near the fullest potential because software updates and standardized api's(D3D) like to make card obsolete and not run the newest games well. That wont be the case with consoles. You'll spend $5000 on pc's to keep up with new games in a 4 year span.

No I won't.

But you wont need a pair of $600 Graphics cards or 300gb HDs or 2gigs of ram to play similar looking games

And I actually meant that example in a couple of years time, once the PS3 has been out for a while. Then, 300 gb HDDS will cost nothing, 2 gbs of ram will be the norm etc etc.

I must sound so negative. I'm not really! I'm actually looking forward to the ps3, and I've even started saving for one. At ÂŁ62 now ;)

Shouldn't you be keeping with tradtion and just into debt for entertainment things like alcahol and the PS3? I'm assuming you're still in uni/college.

So what you're saying is...

If PGR3 was "rushed" then I can't wait to see what a title looks like they spent time on...WOW

PS3 has many apps, over 100 that will release within the first year (tentatively scheduled). I'm willing to bet within 18 months the PS3 will have more PS3 games than the 360 will have 360 games.

Thank god too, because I really don't feel like playing Happy happy funtime kitchen in japanese on my X box....

Try to READ next time ya douche...

I said I could see why someone would like it, meaning I see why it's "good"...But I don't care for it..

But you must have comprehension problems.

PS3 does have app's, I do not see why people say that it doesn't. It has many games in development, we KNOW 100% that all the important titles are coming (MGS4, Tekken, Warhawk, GTA4). I mean...seriously do you believe that out of the blue these companies will drop their projects that they have already invested in?

Also, 9GB is a lot NOW, but when developers stop rushing games, and want to start using REAL high def textures, and audio tracks, allong with texture variety, we'll see how "big" it is.

I'm telling everyone right now, as I 've played a few of them, all of the launch games will be SHORT. I wouldn't put any of them past maybe 10-13 hours fo rthe average play through. Other games will be shorter than that.

Sure they will have replay value via online etc, but as far as actual game content, it's minute. PS3 will be capable of surpassnig that boundry. It's important to realize that it CAN do it, not that it always will. Because Blu-Ray is not the ONLY standard, and we will actually see a lot of games initially come out on DVD rather than blu-ray.

Also, keep in mind that the PS3 will feature a red laser to read DVD's. What speed? More than likely 12x, so the advantage of speeds on 360's DVD drive are out the window.

But you all have to realize, if you want content, you need space. 9GB is a lot, but if you want quality (as you always bicker about Kev) then you'll need more space. Kev you're not going to see those textures you love oh so much, with a lot of content, on a 9GB disc. If you were to attempt a GT4 sized racer on the 360, I promise you textures would be lower quality than one of the same calibur on PS3.
