Do a barrel roll!

That appeared on the Fiat Forums when it was first reported, much to the amusement of the 500 owners. I wonder if it could be raided for spare bits?

The BBC are always quick to report on offbeat news!

Don't think much of the body would be worth raiding...and I imagine the front seats might be stained ;)

That's hilarious. Isn't it backwards?

I have to say, having never opened the bonnet of a car in my life, I fail to see the funny side. Can someone explain?

It's got the output side of the supercharger facing forward as opposed to filling the engine's intake, and it's got the supercharger's intake connected to the engine's intake, where it would try to suck the air out of the engine (prompting my lean-burn joke, which isn't really eight, either.)

You can't just spin the supercharger the other way and make it pump "backwards" like it would need to do as shown.

Wow, see why muscle car guys think kids these days with imports are ignorant? This is a good example of why we do....

that seems more like what a muscle car guy would do with an import because hes confused by the lack of a carb and pushrods.

We actually build our engines, we don't put CAI's on them and a crappy muffler and stickers all over it and think its fast:dopey: Last time I checked the last 355 I built had one of those fancy things called a throttle body. We actually know what is fast and what isn't, just like I wouldn't waste my time with a B16A engine when I could have a H22 for the same price. Most kids now that have these crappy civics and all that think they are fast don't even know how the engine works, I have built every engine I have had performance wise, I even have had 2 DSM's, one ran 8.80's in the 1/8th mile.

They do now-a-days; that's all I see on Corvettes, Camaros, Mustangs, GTOs, etc.

You are in a dying breed then as kids now like muscle cars so a arse load of mustangs, camaros, challengers, and any other "muscle car" is being fleeted with decals, CAI, and catbacks. Few out there might get a chip on a NA car :ouch:. S/C are also going out of style quick, they are very limited in most applications due to needing to make so much torque to spin a more agressive screw type s/c. Now an impeller s/c is not limited by torque but by revs. Turbos are only limited to how much air you can blow out as a by product of blowing in.

Now a select few of us youngsters know a bit about cars, I do admit i dont know it all, but thanks to the handy dandy HP formula I can say that clearly if all you want is high HP all you need is to rev a lot. High HP is only good if you have gearing set for that, if you take long gears on a small engine revving 14k it wont go anywere but tons of short gears will get you screaming, hence one of the reasons F1 has 7 gears. Torque monsters should have longer gears to take us of that grunt and not the pep they lack.

Can we interupt the Muscle car vs Import argument and continue with the funny please?

Didn't relize I was suppose to everytime I suggested getting back on topic. Whatever, lets continue:

Oh Really?

A manual is harder for a bad driver to ruin than an automatic? I beg to differ.

Valid point. The only way an idiot can ruin an automatic is to do idiot things like neutral drops or letting it run dry which is pretty hard for an auto since it starts slipping when it gets low.
