Yeah, whoever made that one is a freaking idiot.

As little sense as it makes, they managed to decently construct a sentence that grammatically ends in five uses of the word "toast", which made me laugh.

Grammatically, it should end toast toasts toast.

I must admit i had a chuckle about that too.

All of a sudden everything gone toast

EDIT: Owkey.. arguing of grammar and I found this..

Omnis is correct. It's a play on the old English favourite "Dogs dogs dogs dog dog dog dogs dogs dog" (or, more recently, "Badgers badgers badgers badger badger badger badgers badgers badger").

Odd language.

Sure it is a play on that - but Omnis is not correct. Toast is plural.

Toast is BOTH, non-plural and plural. You can ask "Can I have some toast?" indicating you want one or multiple pieces of toast, but not "Can I have some toasts?" if you want more than one.

I'm lost now.

I was taking Omnis's post as "The sentence isn't correct, because the plural of toast is toast, and one instance of toast in the sentence ought to be "toasts" as the verb form".

Your first clue should've been having typed Omnis and correct in the same sentence.

That's exactly what I meant. Still, the analogy isn't even correct. Toast doesn't toast toast, people toast toast.

Are you threatening my reputation, master jedi?

I'm sure that the very next post under this one will be someone saying something to the effect of:

"I'm ADD and I don't see enough funny pictures. Make me laugh people!"

...but, to belabor the point, the sentence is grammatically correct. To require "toasts" you have to assume that the previous "toast" is the singular form of the word. But if you simply assume that is the plural form, the verb "toast" is appropriate. The plural form also makes the phrasing parallel with "toasters" - makes a lot more sense than unnecessarily assuming that the phrasing is not parallel and that the word toast is singular - thus requiring the verb "toasts".

People toast bread, not toast

People toast bread, not toast

Toasted toast is toast.

Anyway, this could go either way so how about we settle toast toasts toast v. toast toast toast with a toast... with toasted toast toasts.

I'm ADD and I don't see enough funny pictures. Make me laugh people!
