game crashing after the patch?

GT5 has never crashed for me before today, yet after this patch I got a crash in special events loading and in an online lounge during a track vote. Anybody else notice the game acting unstable?

Mine hasnt crashed, but I have a Le Mans 24h running atm, and the lightening of the track at night has some serious problems. I can see literally nothing but my rear lights :\

I too have never had a crash yet in GT5 until after the update today. When I was in the tuning shop upgrading a car, it locked up solid. I hope this isn't a trend!

Yes. I had it hang loading Nurburgring as the last race of the B-Spec Dream Car Championship. The loading bar took about four minutes to get to the end, then I left it sat there for a good ten minutes more before losing patience and quitting out.

Its only done it once, but that's once more than I had it crash under 1.05

My game froze when I wanted to start the Nissan Z Seasonal Event on Madrid for the first time. Also today during a track vote in a lobby I was retured to the GT Life screen but no freeze there. Never experienced such problems before the 1.06 update.

The worst thing is that my fairly new 320 gb PS3 emitted a fairly loud beep from the hardware while I was doing the Honda Civic Seasonal Event on Suzuka earlier today. The beep came from the PS3 itself and not trough the speakers. It reminded me of when my old 60 gb got YLOD so my heart skipped about three beats when it happend. I don't know if it was related to GT5 and the update but I haven't experienced it before. Did anyone else get this? Thankfully it did not seem to affect anything (yet). Should I worry?

Two lock ups since the patch. One while loading the Eifel seasonal event and one while loading Monza in the middle of the Dream Car Cup.

Both times pressing the PS button did nothing so I had to resort to holding it and killing the game.

I've had one crash so far, but it used to do it before the patch. Only ever crashes while loading Indy, and I can always tell because the ticker at the top starts to stutter, and it takes forever to finish the progress bar.

Crashed on me 3 times. Ounce after winning a race, and twice after being disqualified for spining out in a special event. FIX THIS PLEZ!
Never crashed on me since patch.

I couldn't get the game to start after applying the patch. It hung on a black screen after the first few screens flashed by (the last one being the PD logo).

Deleting all game data (and therefore re-patching) fixed it... Now it runs from DVD, slow as hell, but I'll get around to installing the game assets again.

The reason I'm saying this is because if you have stability issues, a "fresh start" like mine may help.

Note that I only deleted the game data, the game save is obviously intact.

man i have not been able to play the game after the 1.06 update , the game would just not play and when i actually get in to it, it crashes bad! that i have to turn the machine off, i even had to do a complete format twice be cause the file system gets corrupted after i press and hold the power button , well i'm in the process of installing the update again and i think that if it crashes again , i'm just gonna have to go with out the update until these gets looked at by the GT5 team. i hope they are getting some of the feed back about these problem. OOh by the way can they be contacted about these problem? How ? Is these forum part of GT5?

I have had both of your problems (not the YLOD)
Before 1.06, everything fine, playing online with my mates
After 1.06, everything not fine, keeps getting disconnected for my mates and I swear, I literally froze with fear when my PS3 beeped

My game crashed earlier today while loading Grand Valley Speedway in the B spec NASCAR championship. Loading bar got to the end then the game didn't load the pre-race screen. Waited about 5 minutes until I decided to quit and restart the championship. My only crash so far (touch wood).
