Great list, thanks for posting it. That gives me a great idea of what I will be able to do should I end up with a PS3 any time soon.
I didn't know there was an Armored Core Demo and now that's just one more thing I'm really looking forward to playing. 👍

That is a great looking list, definately going to download the GT5:P and COD:4 (hopefully) demos, I am also hoping for a SOCOM: Confrontation demo. Thanks for the list!

There's a demo of Bladestorm: The Hundred years War coming Thursday (to those few who may be interested) and supposedly one of Dark Sector in December.

Add a Winning Eleven 2008 demo to the list. It's already available on the 360 and should be on Ps3 before the end of the year.

Nice list. It seems like there are a lot more on that list then there actually are, but it is very accurate. You spelled Resistance wrong, by the way.

Thanks all for the updates, I'll be sure to keep the list updated for future use.

Not sure what you mean? Are you saying there are a lot on the list that were not actually made available? Or that there are alot that are no longer available? Or something else entirely?

I know for a fact all of these were made available, and I'm fairly confident in the order I posted.

I think D_P was saying that some of the demos that are on that list are no longer available.

Which ones, and when were they removed?

I know Everybody's Golf 5 was removed a few weeks ago, but I hadn't look to see what else has been removed.

Not everything is posted on the "main page" of the PSN. That's only "featured downloads". To look for a specific demo/video/whatever, especially if it's an older one, go to "View All", and look it up by title. The old content is still there, you just have to spend a few extra seconds looking for it. I went looking through it a few days ago, even the launch demos and videos are still up. The only thing that's actually disappeared that I've noticed are the first two GT5P videos.

Im worried that eventually some demos will be removed for good (although its probably unlikely as sony must have loads of HDD space! Because there willbe games I dont want to own but just play from now and then without keeping them on the hard drive...

Does ayone know if xbox live has kept every demo from the start?

Looking foreward to the upcomming stuff on PSN bu what a really want is home!!

Good call. Having to button mash and not know what they are saying from the earlier Japanese demo of Bladestorm, it will be fun finally understanding what was being said. :)

BTW: They also have a demo for The Simpons Game for download.

One more thing, on the Japanese PS Strore, they now have the demo for Record of Agarest War (987 MB).

A trailer for this game was posted a few weeks ago on the Japanese store and a new trailer was shown at TGS last week. You can find a link to view the new HD trailer HERE.

It appears to be some kind of strategic RPG game with old school anime animation.

I had a look at that Record of Agarest War. I deleted it it 10 seconds later...

OK, so we now have over 50 demos and 20 downloadable PSN games... I think it is about bloody time Sony adds a much better sorting feature in XMB for the Games menu bar other than by "type" (which is basically useless) and by install date.

At the very least I'd like to see a sort by name option, and even better, sub folders for Demos and Full Feature Games, and best of all, custom sub folders so you can organize them the way you like, including by genre. 👍

Ulimately you should be able to put stuff in any order you please, I dont see how it would be complicated to do, just a drag and drop command.

If GTHD really is gone I got it about at the last possible moment - completed downloading it around six hours ago.

:odd: proof... ?
Everybody knows that. It's in the Japanese store on 10/20, they've been announcing it for weeks. No news of a US release, although I did read a rumor the other day stating a 10/24 release for the demo, but they were mum on territory.

I just checked, and GTHD is still in the US store.

gthd is gone
I left GT:HD off the list as it's not really a demo, but you'll find that GT:HD is still very much available everywhere but Japan... GTP search option is your friend… or even just a glance in the GT5 forum:
  • Sony to remove GT:HD from Japanese PS Store on 30-09-07

Yes. It is also still available in all the European/Middle Eastern/Indian/South Pacific/Australian stores and the Hong Kong store. I believe it has only been removed from the Japanese store.

To quickly find them, here's where they currently are in each store:
    • GT:HD v1.1 = HK Store -> View All -> Page 2 (file #5)
    • GT:HD v1.2 = NA Store -> Games -> Full Games -> Page 3 (file #3)
    • GT:HD v2.0 = EU Store -> Games -> Downloadable Games -> Page 1 (file #10)

but GT5P demo will be coming this saturday
Yes, as mentioned already, this has not only been discussed at length for some time now, but in several threads, including a dedicated thread specifically about the GT5:P demo... again GTP search is your friend... or just looking at the first page of threads in the GT5 forum:

oh... but it's not playable for the US right... Lame...
Yes, the GT5:P demo is playable in the US.

:odd: It will?? In the other threads it sounds like it wouldn't? Is it in japanese or something then?
Yes. No. Yes.

Problem will arise lol we can download the Japanese demo on our NA PS3's but how will we read the menus etc? :|
Same way I played the Everybody's Golf 5, XI[sai] and the original Bladestorm demo. Trial and error and some common sense... heck even my five year old son has no trouble navigating the menus in Everybody's Golf 5. :)

Also, if you really can't figure it out, as there was with other Japanese demos, if you do some searching on the internet you'll likely find gameplay guides that translate the menus, settings, instructions, etc.

On top of all that an English language GT5:P demo may very well be in the works as well.

 He's my best friend, practically my brother I never had so yeah. I don't mind. He doesn't play much of it either because I haven't gotten any games for it. His wife is the one that wants one the most though, but she wants it for ps2 games not really ps3. :dunce:

I don't have any reason to play it yet. Although it was great for work because I could get the net on it. xD

Two new demos now available on the Japanese PS Store:

I am very surprised none of the game news sites or even Sony have made any mention of it, but there is a brand new 1.2 GB demo for Heavenly Sword, called the "Kai Demo", that was just added to the Japanese PS Store.

As the name implies, unlike the first demo for Heavenly Sword where you control Nariko, now you get to control Kai:

Kai is the adopted sister of Nariko, and a member of the clan which protects the Heavenly Sword. She is a child-like character who seems innocent, but is highly skilled in the use of her crossbow, a "game" which she names "twing twang". Previously belonging to a once-great clan, Kai is the last survivor; her mother was murdered by one of Bohan's generals, Flying Fox (portrayed by Steven Berkoff). Kai was eventually found by Nariko and her clan.
The menus and language are all in Japanese of course, but like other Japanese demos, it isn't dificult to figure out what is what.

The main menu consists of the following:
  • Start
  • Controls
  • Options
  • Credits
If you do not make a selection after about 30 seconds, the screen saver kicks in with a minute of video clips from the game.

The demo picks up following Nariko's imprisonment by King Bohan, and when you start the demo it begins with Kai making her way to Nariko's holding cell:

Kai is able to find where Nariko is imprisoned and begs that she comes home with her "like a good girl." Nariko explains to Kai that she needs to reacquire the Heavenly Sword to kill King Bohan. She asks Kai to retrieve the sword and Kai accepts the task.
And this is where you take control of Kai.

The pause menu (start button) consists of the following:
  • Return
  • Controls
  • Options
  • Quit
I only played a little bit of it, but so far I like it a lot more than the first demo... but I like more strategy than just button mashing fights. :)

I certainly expect we will see an English version of this demo come out on Thursday, but for those that want to get an early preview of it can download it off the Japanese Store. 👍

In addition, there is also now a demo on the Japanese PS Store for the highly anticipated physchological horror game, Imabikisou:

A traditional Japanese "Sound Novel" adventure, The storyline of Imabikisou revolves around a drug called "Vision" which seems to be responsible for a string of mysterious deaths. The game's main character and heroine, attempting to flee the curse of the drug, travel to a mansion that is believed to be the source of all the problems. There, they get themselves caught up in a mystery involving a strange flower, the Imabikisou of the title.

Imabikisou involves a winning staff of horror veterans. The game's award-winning scenario staff includes Yukinori Kitajima (Muteki Handicap), Osamu Makino (Sweet Little Baby) and Hajime Katou. The graphic staff includes Haruhiko Shouno as art director, and Ayumu Ino as photography director. Twins Japan (Dororo, Cure, Dragon Head) and Animaroid (Siren 2 for the PS2) are lending their talents for, respectively, filming and visual effects. And unlike most Sound Novels, the production values are a key element -- the game includes a mix of real life and CG footage, along with real time effects. The sound aural side features Dolby 5.1 support and full voice
I have not yet had a chance to play around with it, so I can't say anything about the gameplay, and how easy it is to guess the control and story. It is a fairly large demo at just under 1 GB.

There are a couple videos of the game available in the PS Store, but GameTrailers has a few videos of the game as well available HERE.
